Britannia Hotel City Centre Manchester

Our room was clean and tidy when we arrived! Our amenities were fully stocked and the bathroom was clean. The staff were friendly and the check-in process was relatively quick. Minus a few small things, the stay was perfect for what we needed and we'd probably return again. The architecture in the main foyer was amazing!

Unfortunately, the age of the building is starting to show through. Some of the walls had begun to crack and you can tell of its age. Plus, some bathroom amenities would be a nice bonus too. The room door didn't lock very well and was difficult to open/close which could become difficult when in an emergent situation.

This hotel is very well located within easy reach of the Metrolink. The room is of adequate size (I had a double room without a window). Comfy bed with clean sheets and soft towels. Everyone seems to dislike this hotel but for what I paid I cant complain.

The only thing this hotel is lacking is air conditioning. I stayed on a warm-ish night and being an inside room without windows the ventilation wasnt the best. There was a fan in the room which worked well. I know this cant be helped due to the building itself lacking the infrastructure.

This hotel was very cheap, and very convenient for Piccadilly and Manchester city centre. I purposely booked a room with a window based upon other reviews (many rooms don't have windows) as this provided some fresh air. Manchester was very humid during my stay, so some air and the desk fan provided in the room were very necessary. The hotel accommodates a very mixed clientele, and is not for everybody - and with no concierge despite the perceived grandeur. Breakfast was a buffet, pretty basic but still plenty of choice.

Taps in the bathroom were tricky to turn off fully, which meant they dripped. Old building, so limited plug sockets in the room.

Good central location for city center and trams

Rooms were basic, shower had a leak, noise from the street was very loud on an evening.
