Family Hotel Madrid

I've stayed in this hotel many times so far, and would do again, so I guess this shows I'm happy with it. Nice ambience, nice staff at the reception, good location for me (the Mall nearby is a very nice-to-have option for meals or coffee; there is a Metro station not very far; plenty of buses and trams); clean and comfortable room; great value for money as for Sofia.

One of the bedside lights didn't work. The room's outer door handle was loose, but still worked.

The guy at the reception was so polite and helpful and the location was great and very convenient, close to a bus stop, a mall, 5 mins away from the city center. A nice reception area, a vending machine there, convenient time allotted to check in and out, quick and easy check in and out!

The bathroom was very small and badly designed. There was basically no space to move at all while showering, you could barely take a shower. The shower head was broken, which made the whole situation even more inconvenient. The pipes were rusty as well, and the bathroom just felt very old although clean. The noise was another huge problem. People were constantly banging doors and being extremely loud in the hallways. At midnight completely out of nowhere, someone on the other side of the wall started drilling and banging on the walls. Checking the view from our terrace, it turned out there was a residential area the other side of the same building with people actually living there. Stained sheets, towels, walls, chair. A yellow air con equipment that once was white.

Clean, well maintained place. Very easy and practical late arrival check-in. Very good public transport connections; sufficient bakeries, cafes etc in the surroundings for breakfast.

There is an elevator, but it goes everywhere halfway halfway the stores, thus you have always to use the stairway at least for 1/2 storey. Accessibility for disabled and elderly is low.

Close to everything you need ...

Very noisy, thin walls, thin doors, after 8th in the afternoon everybody there are smashing doors, very noisy. At 4am they start again as is a transit hotel and people go to the airport and they simply DO NOT CARE if they do A LOOOT of noise.
