The cabin and grounds are cute with a great location along the French Broad River. However; the cabin was lacking on some basic items such as bath soap, dishwashing liquid and the towels are small, very rough and some were tattered. We found the couch dirty, smelly and very dated. In fact, we had to use a blanket to cover the couch so we could sit on it due to smell and being unclean. One of the biggest down falls was the bed we slept on. It was so uncomfortable and sagged in the middle. The most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. We booked three nights but left after two because we couldn’t handle another bad nights sleep. The bed was horrible. We spent New Years Eve watching their TV with the volume going out every 15 minutes for the entire evening. Between the bed and the TV we decided to leave the next day. The owner was notified and instead of trying to remedy the situation, she told us she rolled across the bed and it didn’t sag. How is one person rolling across the bed comparable with 2 people sleeping on it? Trust me, it was saggy and very uncomfortable! She even said there was a quarter of a bottle of dishwashing liquid. Well, there wasn’t and I had to put water in it to make it last. So ok if she doesn’t provide body soap but why not fill up the hand soaps and make sure the beds are comfortable! It’s like the owner was very skimpy on what she did provide. When you rent a place to vacation at you expect a bit more than was offered here.

We really enjoyed our stay just the two of us.
Both bedrooms with their own bathrooms were pretty equal which is nice if traveling with another couple or friends.
I appreciated driveway being level with the road and just being to drive in and out instead of being up on a mountain since we went out a few times a day a returned in the dark.
The scenery in the back of house being right on a big river was beautiful.
There are a lot of interesting upscale design features with the kitchen and bathrooms.
I stayed there in early October and found the place to be very clean. I’m not sure how it could get any cleaner.
Only complaint was it was pretty dark when we arrived close to midnight. There is only one motion detector light that gets activated only once reach the porch.
We hope to be able to stay here again some day.

I can’t imagine staying anywhere else near Hot Springs after enjoying this delightful cabin overlooking the French Broad River. Lovely attention to detail at every glance… and clean as a whistle! Modernized kitchen appliances and art glass bathroom sinks, as well as cute little birdhouses adorning the porch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return soon! Linda Backes

We traveled all the way to cabin and were very disappointed. The cabin was filthy and we didn't even stay the night. We drove back home that night because we couldn't find a reasonable place to stay, that was in our price range. Oweners did refund our money but we missed out on our vacation. A total waste of time plus we were out gas money and wasted vacation time from work.we took several pictures. Owner told us that when they went to check it was clean. The only thing was the vent above stove was a little dirty and that they could see through the filter and went ahead and cleaned it. A extremely disappointed couple. It was for oùr 40th Anniversary

This has to be one of the best back porches I've ever enjoyed. My husband and I would have been happy spending our entire trip relaxing on the porch, watching the river. The location is a short, easy, and scenic drive to downtown Hot Springs and any other place you want to go. Beautiful mornings, beautiful evenings, beautiful starry skies. We loved our stay here.

We rented for a girls’ weekend getaway. The pictures don’t do this lovely cottage justice! The kitchen is fabulous and many rustic features throughout. The outdoor space is much larger than it appears, and we made use of all of it. The calmness of the rushing River is the icing on an already amazing cake!!!

The rustic cabin was in such a perfect location and the porch overlooking the French Broad River was so peaceful. Beds were comfortable, the rustic details were very cool.
The only thing that I would suggest is more kitchen items, coffee cups, silverware, cooking utensils and some foil, baggies, wrap, liquid dish soap, windex, etc.stocked for a 3 night stay so we didn't have to run to Dollar General and buy what we would only use a little of(we flew into Asheville- so had no chuck box)

Quiet peaceful retreat from the world. Love the back porch with nature sounds of birds and rushing water. The rain made it perfect, Quaint little town. I want to return and this time raft down the river which flows right by this perfect little cabin.

Loved the back porch of the cub. Big old swing overlooking the river, with the sound of the riffles. Road noise was minimal. The separate private bedroom/bath on each side of the cabin made it very private. Easy drive to Paint Rock wedding venue.

This cabin was perfect for our 2 night stay at the end of a week-long road trip. My fiance and his parents loved everything about the property from the gorgeous interior to the peaceful sound of the river, to the relaxing soak in the hot tub. We are already looking for another chance to come back and stay longer.

I love this place. It’s an adorable log cabin right on the French broad with the best view of the river from the deck. We didnt use the firepit because of storm and winds but there is a nice one. The hot tub was perfect after long day hikes. The host is lovely and responsive. We’ll be back for sure!

Hot Springs is a great little town with many restaurants. I would recommend Smoky Mountain Diner and Vinyl Pies. Hot Springs Resort & Spa offered a variety of mineral baths which was the highlight of our stay.
The view from the cabin was extraordinary. The noise from the river was very welcoming and relaxing. Sat in the porch swing watching deer in the field. Enjoyed sitting in the hot tub watching the rain and river. Would recommend this town and home for a relaxing time.

My husband and I loved this property and will definitely stay here again! We visit Hot Springs every year and have, no HAD, a favorite cabin. Now we have a new favorite. Lots of wood, lovely river off the back porch for a great view and sounds of rushing water. Nice, big kitchen. Spacious bathrooms. Everything was clean and functioning. I thought there might be a Christmas tree or some decorations since it's December, but I haven't put anything up at my house yet either so who am I to talk? Really enjoyed it!

The Cub cabin was more than what was described. It exceeded our expectations! Being on the French Broad River was extremely relaxing and beautiful! The drive down River Road to the National Park/Forest was amazing! The property owner was very responsive when contacted. We highly recommend this location to anyone!

First of all this an absolutely gorgeous location with amazing views and sounds of the river. The cabin was just as pictured and as 2 couples traveling together we each had our own rooms, bathrooms, and privacy. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the beds were horrible and there needs to be more furniture. In the living room there is one chair and a 3-seat sofa; as 4 adults this doesn't allow us to really stretch out and relax. The back porch also only had 2 padded chairs that need updating as well as the porch swing. Again, not a whole lot of comfy options. Lastly both beds were incredibly squeaky and uncomfortable, none of us slept very well. These are nit picky issues but wanted to share. Overall, we loved this cabin and it's perfect for a getaway.

We loved the cabin, especially the large back porch with great views and hot tub. It could use several more sturdy, comfortable chairs for porch. We will definitely rent again!
