It was very quiet, and we were not disturbed by other quests. The owners were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The room was bright and comfortable, with good facilites for tea/coffee/drinking chocolate. Complimentary cakes baked by the owners were available, a different cake every day - they were delicious, and this was a very kind and generous gesture! :-)

Unfortunately breakfast was not available during the period of our stay, but we were made aware of this prior to my booking, so this is not in any way a criticism! :-) The bed was very hard though - too hard for us, though I appreciate that everyone has different tastes and that others might not feel the same way.

The property was clean/spacious,the hosts were very welcoming and it was located in a great location. Thank to our hosts for the wonderful stay. The fresh bakes that were left out daily were also greatly appreciated. Next time we plan a trip in Keswick we will be back.

The room was comfortable, in a quiet location and within walking distance of restaurants and shops.

Our host, James - Knowledgeable (Keswick area, wider Lakes), welcoming and couldn't do more to make our stay as enjoyable as possible Our stay - Clean, well-stocked for toiletries and what have you, tea/coffee/hot chocolate, fresh water kept in fridge, access to fridge/drying room and cakes upon arrival back at the house, comfy mattress.. literally everything was perfect

The owners were friendly and helpful. The room was sunny, clean and comfortable. Short walk to town centre was easy.

The couple there was amazing - great food, very friendly and helpful, very peaceful area, parking was available, rooms are practical.

The bathrooms are tiny, The staircase don't help for older folks, the lighting after sunset in the rooms is a bit low. The water pressure and instant water heaters in the bathroom showers isn't great.

The breakfast was very nice with a good variety of food. The location was fairly close to Keswick Town center. The room was very clean and tidy. Bathroom was clean and tidy.

The bathroom sink was very small, due to the size of the room.

Everything, place was nice and clean, room was a good size and the bed was comfy. Location 5 mins from the town centre. Breakfast was really nice with lots of choices. Owners are a young friendly couple.

Nothing much, only slight negative would be the lack of parking but it's typical for guesthouses in that part of the town and on street parking is usually doable nearby.

Clarence House was exactly as described in the published literature; immaculate, clean, and extremely welcoming.

James and Katy are such great hosts, really chatty and helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with a drinks tray in the rooms. Lovely touch with the afternoon daily cakes and fresh milk and water in the guest fridge. Great choice at breakfast and all freshly cooked. Would certainly recommend Clarence House.

Super friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts who chatted with us, gave us recommendations, helped with bus and boat timings etc and even information on transport for our departure. Great location, very quiet and peaceful despite being also a very short walk to town. Beautiful room with an insanely comfy bed, high standards of cleanliness and generally many thoughtful touches that you don’t always get in your accommodations when traveling. Many breakfast options and very filling, which is especially important when you’re about to go out for a day of physical activities. Tasted nice as well (especially the omelette, croissant, granola). We had a great time and would come back again if we were visiting this area again in future. Thank you so much James and Kate!

Breakfast freshly cooked with more choices than many other 4 star hotels. Hosts were friendly & shared their local knowledge of places to go. 10 min walk to town centre.

Excellent hosts, very good cooked breakfast, and clean rooms. I loved the special complimentary (surprise) baked treats that awaits the guests when we return to our rooms in the evening after our sightseeing trips during the day. The cosy lounge in the attic is a lovely place to relax, read a book, play board games… . I would highly recommend staying at the Clarence House.

We had a great stay here! The hosts were really lovely and welcoming, the breakfast was delicious and the beds were really comfortable. If ever I'm in Keswick in the future Clarence House will be top of my list.

We had a fantastic time at the Clarence House. A A Victorian residence with modern amenities, close to the centre of the town . The breakfast was excellent with several cooked options to choose from. Everyday, wonderful home baked cakes were kept for us on the way to our rooms when we returned in the evening. We loved this surprise! A very welcoming gesture! There is also a small cosy lounge in the attic. I would highly recommend staying here when visiting Keswick. Thank you James & Kate for a warm, relaxing and a lovely stay!
