Warwick Hall

Perfect setting, just outside of Carlisle. Lovely country Manor House with great historical features, a walled garden and lovely walks along the river bank.

quirky and eccentric, good food

reception was at best chaotic, appeared asleep and confused when we arrived and we had to immediately choose dinner options. When we left we paid and then were immediately asked to pay another guests bill! The Garden Room was next to the kitchen so we were woken early by kitchen staff. A loud fan type intermittent noise came on at 5am, possibly heating. We were locked out at 10:20pm despite being in the dining room and lounge and had to access our room via the kitchen. A housekeeper came into our room at 10:15 before we had checked out and asked for the towels. It was a fabulous building and great food and lovely fires in the lounge, but eccentric and expensive for the disrupted night.

Beautiful location and dog friendly.great view from room.Good food except the rice pudding

Being woken up at 6.30 am with slamming doors and radio news from the kitchen below.Shower blocked and overflowed into the bathroom-was offered a free drink for this which I accepted and then got charged for it on the bill
