Hotel The Augustin

The location was very convenient, close to two metro stations (10 minutes' walk at most). The staff were really nice and caring, so whatever people say about French people being gloomy was nowhere to be seen :D Breakfast was good. One perk that exceeded our expectations was the free snack time from 2pm until late at night. By snacks I mean coffee, juice, sweets, baked goods and fruit, so it was really lovely. Apparently we could also help ourselves to snacks at any other Astotel hotel in the city just by showing our room card. The room was a bit small, but I guess that's to be expected in Paris.

Sehr schönes Hotel, mit einer gemütlichen einladenden Einrichtung. Bequemes, breites Bett und viel Platz im Raum. Vor kurzem renoviert. Rezeption 24 h besetzt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden hier jederzeit wieder buchen.

Die Klimaanlage lässt sich nicht ausschalten und klappert leider die ganze Nacht durch. Das Wasser im Bad läuft schlecht ab. Das Frühstück war uns zu teuer, sodass wir lieber in der Nachbarschaft in einem gemütlichen Kaffee gefrühstückt haben.

We enjoyed walking from the hotel into the old parts of Brussels. The staff responded quickly to our request for the air conditioning to be on as our bedroom temperature was showing 35C. The radiator in the bathroom also had to be turned off. Very friendly helpful reception staff.

It would have been nice to have more than 2 pots of milk and 2 coffees as meant we could only have one cup in the morning or afternoon. There was no information about the spa facilities.

Location and room size are excellent.

In our search for stays in Brussels, we had "Air Conditioning" as the main filter. However, the hotel had the AC on a 90 minute on/off cycle. So we'd only get 90 mins of AC then 90 mins of NO AC. This was very disappointing as it didnt keep the room cool long enough at all, so it was quite warm. They had this in place due to a past heatwave, however when we were there, there was no heatwave, so they could have easily turned it on 24/7. But frankly, I dont understand how a hotel with several stars could do such an idiotic move as to turn the ac off on cycles anyway.
