Ballycotton Holiday Apartment No 6
This coastal holiday home sleeping 5, is located in the gorgeous setting of Ballycotton. Ballycotton is the perfect escape to the beautiful East Cork countryside - it is a small, picturesque fishing village which sits on a rocky ledge overlooking Ballycotton Bay and is surrounded by sandy beaches. On a clear day it is possible to see the Knockmealdown Mountains from the apartment.
Property layout – First floor:
-Medium sized living room with smart TV
-Open plan kitchen
-Dining room seating 6 people
-Bedroom 1: double ensuite sleeping 2 (with view of the church)
-Bedroom 2: double & single sleeping 3 (with sea view)
-Bathroom with jacuzzi bathtub, toilet & hand basin
The sea-view balcony is fitted with outdoor furniture, additionally, outside this holiday apartment, there is a shared enclosed garden with a secure fence suitable for kids.
Wi-Fi is available, and for guests working remotely, a small desk is provided in the master bedroom. Towels are provided within the property.a
1 private parking space in front of the apartment is available. For non-drivers there is a bus service from the village and the local shop in Shanagarry does home delivery and Tesco.
10 euro electricity daily charge applies and covers electric heating.

Utilities are an extra charge at this property and payable on departure to the Owner/Property Manager. The daily rate for heating & electricity at this property is €10 all year around. 2. Security Deposit:
A minimum refundable security deposit of €200 (per property) must be paid prior to check-in to your holiday home to the local Property Manager/ Owner. This is either taken over the phone by pre-authorising your credit card when you call the Property Manager to arrange your arrival time 48 hours in advance of arrival or at others it is taken on arrival by cash. In some locations and at certain times of year this can increase to €500 per property.

Great location, 50m from the first pub. Lovely cliff walk

The location was wonderful, although a bit out of the way. The Ballycotton hiking trail is about a mile up the road, and absolutely stunning! Ocean views from the kitchen and living room at the apartment were gorgeous. Kitchen was very functional. Lots of bar activity surrounding from Thursday thru Sunday.
The road into Ballycotton is narrow with no shoulder, occasional cyclists and walkers, and I think speed limit too high for safety. So if you are a new left side driver, beware. The apartment is not luxurious, so if you're looking for high end and perfectly groomed facilities it may not suit you. It was great for us. Also, very few, if any of the pubs and other venues were open between Monday and Thursday, and the only place near to buy supplies is a gas station a few miles away.

I was a little confused by the heating, but thats my own fault. The shower head needs replacement, a slightly meager stream of water from it.

The apartment was very spacious, very comfortable and very clean. Martin was our host and nothing was too much trouble for him. The location was spectacular with a balcony of the lounge looking out to sea, which was only about 50 metres away. Would not hesitate to book this apartment again.
There was nothing we did not like.
