Old Abbey House

Location was great for me traveling to Culham, there were lots of shops and restaurants close by. The room was large, bed really comfy and shower powerful.

The communal steamers weren't where it was stated in the booklet, so had to go to a different floor to find one.

Short walk to a big Waitrose just down the road and plenty of store and pubs in the other direction. Lovely little Polish shop close by. Off road parking on the property the nights the hotel was not busy. Very short walk to a car park with free parking on a Sunday. Rooms were very pretty.

Lack of air conditioning, which is often the case in smaller UK hotels, especially in Oxford would be the only reason to stop us from returning. Even when it was 8C outside overnight and the windows were open it was 22C in the room. 21C outside, the room was 26C. They did provide tall standing fans, but they were extremely noisy. My husband tipped them over which helped with the very loud vibration. It would not bother many people but if you feel the heat, it could be a problem.

The Old Abbey House is perfectly situated in the middle of a nice countryside town. The facilities are very good. The room is spacious.
