Ski Inn Hakuba, Iwatake

The location is very good for a ski trip, with easy access to several of Hakuba’s main resorts, including Happo‑One, Hakuba 47, Goryu and Iwatake, which made it a convenient base throughout our stay. We were very grateful for the staff's help when our flight was delayed. We arrived after reception had closed, but we were given clear and detailed instructions for late check‑in, which made the process easy and stress‑free. It was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated after a long journey. The room was warm, comfortable and practical for a ski stay, and overall the hotel worked well as a base after long days on the slopes. One useful thing for families to note is that the bathrooms don’t have heating, so they can feel quite cold in the mornings, especially noticeable when travelling with young children.

We had no issue with the three‑day cleaning policy, which was clearly stated and reasonable. However, when cleaning didn’t take place, and we asked on the fourth day for the room to be serviced, the staff member we spoke to was quite dismissive. In the end, only the bins were emptied, and no proper cleaning was done. We were also told bins would be emptied daily, which unfortunately didn’t happen during our stay. This was disappointing and below the standard we expected from a hotel advertising itself as a luxury property.

The apartment was spacious clean with good heating and air conditioning, quiet location with good views, we were on the 3rd floor. Breakfast was disappointing, we skipped it after a few days because it just delayed us getting to the slopes. The front entrance and ski storage doorway were not cleared of ice by the staff making it difficult to use the stairs and open the door. I slipped and fell. Charges for parking outside were high when it’s free parking nearby. Few restaurants nearby, Over priced

It’s annoying to take a taxi into town for food, there is 2 options for food in this part of town.
