Ilenia was just an amazing host. Unfortunately my wife slipped on the steps around Matera and broke her arm. Ilenia arrange a taxi for us on 2 occasions and also parking and was just an outstanding host..

Nothing it is central and great for visiting Matera

The town is fantastic and this place feels right in the middle of it all. We loved the little balcony. There were other people in the adjacent room but they didn’t venture into the shared space so we never saw them.

Coffee machine was unnavigable for us and there really is very little in the way of kitchen equipment. Inadequate AC

Exceptional spot. Clean, great balcony and terrace. Great view to work from. Best place we stayed on this trip

The boiler. If you are the first to shower it’s fine. Otherwise it keeps going between hot and cold

Stylish apartment right in the centre of the Sassi. Everything was great and very clean. There is a common-use kitchen and a wonderful terrace on the 2nd floor. The owner is very nice and helpful. She texted us in advance and gave very clear and precise instructions, including videos showing how to get to the apt, how to open the doors, etc. We left our car at Garage Damasco (25 eur/night), but it may also be possible to find a parking spot on the street nearby. Would definitely recommend!

One thing to keep in mind is that you need to climb quite a lot of steps to reach the apartment. But that’s basically the Sassi – the whole area consists of steps :) So try not to bring very heavy luggage with you.
