We loved the fact it was a small, historic property, and was very clean.
We liked the fact that we could access the pool at the other Pestana hotels right next door.
The fact it was so close to the road, you could hear the traffic from the small pool.

The staff were wonderful. The pool, the seating area on the second floor. There is a pool table library the hotel offered everything . The breakfast could not have been better and included everything you can imagine! the overall atmosphere was so pleasant. I booked several excursions and was picked up either at my hotel or near my hotel so it’s centrally located. Especially appreciated the staff for breakfast and dinner so attentive just such nice people.!
There’s a little bit of traffic noise, but at the pool, the water flow quieted the traffic noise and the windows were well insulated so it was just a slight harm, but it was nice to be so close to everything and have the excursion drivers be willing to pick you up there or nearby so it was worth the slight hum of traffic

The cleaning and room service was very good
The room was fair opening on to the swimming pool
This box isn’t big enough
Some of the staff were not very responsive
When I book a hotel with these prices I expect some sort of amenities, bar, restaurant, night porter. Not have to walk to a sister hotel and at night have to walk 100’s of yards to get back to my room and at the age of 76 I expect a lift to my room not have to walk up flights of stairs. Going to the only bar in the evening it was 3 lift and a walk across a bridge ( outside)
