Vila Baleira Funchal

The personnel was fantastic ! Special thanks to Miss Patricia and her collegue present on the afternoon on the 22nd of September, around 14-15 o’clock. (Unfortunately I cannot recall the name). Their customer service sense was incredible, the way they deal with unusual situations to satisfy the customer was unexpected. They put all efforts into providing a good service from the beginning to the end. Room (junior suite) was specious and curtains very good in modulating the amount of brightness. Cleaning nicely done.

No water fountains available yet in the hotel (soon to be implemented, meanwhile the reception staff refilled our bottles every time we asked or we refilled it during the breakfeast hours ). No boiler / iron in the room. (Provided upon request). One extra socket next to the bed would be a nice addition. Coffe machine a bit outdated, maybe a nespresso would be better. Breakfeast area was too crowded, despite a very efficient service of the personnel.

Had everything you could need and a delicious breakfast for a great price.

Some of the facilities in our room were a little dated (hairdryer, aircon) but overall fine. Parking could have been a little bit clearer but worked out perfect in the end.

The location is very handy for tour pick ups and the check in process was very straightforward. The room was spacious and the little balcony was lovely. It was also not overly expensive compared to other hotels in the area

The pool area is surrounded by building works which is not the hotels fault but something to be aware of. The actual pool as you can see if fine, and also when we were there the pool bar was closed. The other thing is that the breakfast is cold - all the ‘hot’ dishes were cold. Good selection of fruit and breads etc but the hot breakfast was disappointing. The breakfast would not put us off booking - we would just get breakfast outside the hotel instead.
