Hotel Alps

Location was superb, this place is right in the heart of the action but is also so quiet, The reception staff at check-in was a breath of fresh air, she was so friendly and funny, she spoke good english too!, our room on the 11th floor could not have been better, although a little dated it was huge with 180 degree penthouse city views, huge comfortable bed, massage chair, huge bathroom with spa bath. Thank you for for the free umbrellas at checkout, we passed them to 2 young girls at the station who were also caught in the downpour.

Breakfast - drinks and toaster layout and unlabelled food options.

Great room big for Japan

Nothing

Great location, spacious room, nice staff

A bit dated, breakfast was lukewarm warm, a lot of plastic e.g individual towels in plastic

Good location and comfortable beds, but a bit dated We stayed at Hotel Alps for a few nights and overall had a decent stay. The location was definitely the highlight – it’s within walking distance of Dotonbori, Namba Station, shops, restaurants, and convenience stores, making it a great base for exploring Osaka. We managed to get a discounted rate through booking dot com, which made the stay reasonable value. However, I don’t think I would have been happy paying the full advertised price.

The room was a huge size by Japanese standards and the beds themselves were comfortable. However, the room felt quite dated and had a slightly creepy atmosphere. My main issue was the bed design. There was no headboard, and directly behind the pillows was a slab of marble. I woke up a few times during the night and accidentally hit my head against it, which was surprisingly painful and left my head sore. Breakfast was okay but nothing special. We hadn’t booked a rate that included breakfast but decided to try it anyway. It was pretty much what we expected – a basic buffet with toast, croissants, coffee, orange juice, some Western options, and a selection of Japanese dishes. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing stood out either.
