Location near the bottom of the steep-ish main street is great, but the hotel has a bar that can be a little loud. The facilities are fine and the price is okay relative to the other options in town. The room was what you would expect, and the air conditioning worked just fine.
Everything about the property feels like the hotel’s best days are behind it.
Also, the two staff members (with whom I interacted and witnessed interacting with other guests on several occasions over my two days there) were not very friendly, and I sort of felt like me being there was a bit of an inconvenience for them. I’m a pretty seasoned traveler and I’ve been to Riomaggiore a handful of times over the years (first time staying at La Zorza)… if I were new to town I wouldn’t want to ask those two employees for any recommendations or to answer any of my questions.

Room size.
Bathroom is very run down. The sink has major clog, shower head water is weak, shower space is very tiny, shower doors don’t close property, wall and floor look dirty and old. There’s no front desk for check in and check out. Was told to check in at the bar next door.

Amazing location, perfect for a quick stay in Riomaggiore. Very comfortable bed
Very thin towels, like a sheet rather than a towel. Staff weren’t very helpful.

The location was good, you don't have to go up the hill, as its at the bottom of the hill so a tiny Incline.
Its not a hotel. Our room was outdated , there was one small window which you couldn't open as it opened onto the lane where the bins are and a passageway.
Its loud from the bar underneath it (owned by them) . There were broken electrical sockets , it was unclean (Black mould in shower) the corridor had a huge painting covering up a electrical wires etc.
The pillow was like a dogs toy, all bitty inside , seems they may have washed it and it's all broken apart.

Location was just perfect near station and harbour, it was rated a 1 star but room was renovated and.clean and very good for that rating pleasantly surprised.
The bar which was buzzing was just below our room - noise of people was fairly well cut off by the windows but the music was sometimes a bit loud and probably unnecessary as bar was popular anyway.

The location was very central, the cleaning service was also good enough. The receptionist Irene was very polite and helpful.
The room had a tiny window at the entry that looked directly onto the street, so we could never really open it fully because: 1. There is a trash bin nearby that smells, and 2. We wouldn’t have any privacy/ sense of security because strangers could easily look into the room. The sleeping area felt so tight not because of the size but because of the lack of fresh air, since the only window in the room is located next to the door and was super small. There is a bar right under the room, therefore it gets really loud at night and they would throw away glass bottles in a very ignorant way into a trash bin next to the room. The bar keeper that did our check-in was very rude.

bathroom was very bad (clogged sink, water leak on the ceiling, water leakage on the shower receiver)
Bed was damaged. We had to fix it before sleeping.
And on the top, I cancelled 1 night and I had to pay a city tax although we were not there.

The location couldn’t have been better.
The staff were very abrupt and quite rude. The room smelt really badly of smoke. When we opened the bathroom door it smelt as if someone had just been smoking a cigarette or cigar. It made the night there very uncomfortable as were are both non-smokers.

This is the perfect hotel to be right in the middle of the the action. Friendly staff, great coffee, tasty food, cozy room and ideal location.

central location.
way way too expensive for the standard it’s at. it’s more like a €40 per night hotel. fir €150 per night it should include breakfast and be of a much better standard.

Location was superb and it was great to be able to have our breakfast in their cafe. Staff were really helpful. The room was super and great to be able to put the air conditioning on..... So quiet!
Wonderful stay!
Our beds were made up each day...... But one day we got missed out and it would have been nice to have had the new teas and coffee!
Our bed was 2 singles and they separated out some of the time.... They need to be held together somehow!
Climbing the stairs was hard work but we just
had to get used to it.! We laughed about it!
Having a bit of a guide to the village(s) would I think be a great addition. Maybe a plan and places to visit.

Because of the lication it was a bit of noisy.

great location! 5 minute walk from the station and the coast
- very expensive for the quality! (we booked this last minute as everywhere was sold out)
- Hotel rooms are very noisy above the bar.
- Our room was next to a ice machine constantly making noise.
- The shower was just about big enough to fit in! and we’re both slim

The bathroom was clean
Didn’t like especially the staff. They were so rude. I walked in and they could all care less I was there and obviously lost. I couldn’t find the check in counter (because there isn’t one.) I asked a girl working if she knew were the hotel was and she just said ya and walked away. Just so rude. The guy working just looked at me when I came downstairs to check out and then waved his hand in front of me for the key. I finally got them to laugh and say ciao on the way out but it took everything I had. The room was more than ugly. Wi-Fi never was provided. And it was super loud at night and during day.
Hated this hotel… if you would even call it that.

everything is so close . it’s really close to the train station and next to some good food places . the lady who worked there was nice and gave good information
prior to check in I was told to go to bar and check in with the men working there and they dismissed me saying I was not on the check in when I was so that was already a red flag . what they don’t say is how many stairs you have to take to get to your room so if you have a big luggage or many I wouldn’t recommend. the bed wasn’t too comfortable. there is no WiFi so if you’re relying on that I wouldn’t try it

close to everything.
the double bed is two single beds put together. the mattress was dirty. the shower was very small.

It was very central in Riomaggiore. The bed was quite comfortable and the room was quite clean.
You access the rooms via a very narrow staircase (with a door which isn’t locked) up from the Main Street. Check-in is at the very back of a busy bar which you access via a different staircase. There are many nice places to stay in Riomaggiore but this is not one of them. It felt quite sketchy but it could be good if you’re looking for somewhere cheap. It was sold as a triple room - set up as two single beds side by side and I wouldn’t have wanted to be the third person.

Room was large and the air con was nice.
As a solo female traveler, i was under the impression this was a hotel, with a lobby and such. Its just connected to a restaurant the doors just stayed open to the hallway which felt a little uneasy. Even though I gave my arrival time, the person meeting me took forever to show up. Also under the impression of this being a hotel, i had a suitcase and again as a solo person there was no one to help. A bartender in the restaurant carried my bag up. But when checking out I was obviously all alone. The rooms wifi hardly worked. And there is no phone in the room. Also just a freezer no fridge, i understand its in a small village but it should be clear that that they just rent out rooms and its not an actual hotel.

This hotel is location is perfect for someone who does not want to lug up suitcases up a steep hill. It is right on the bottom of the the hill close to the train station and marina! They also have a nice bar/restaurant underneath the hotel.
The shower is very snug.

It was clean and equippted with everything we needed.
during weekends it was a bit loud on the streets as this place is above two most popular bars on the street. We did expect this so this did still not bother us that much.
10.0
the location, the staff, the size of property
the shower drain hardly worked
