About this condo rental
Situated in Longboat Key, this charming condo for $456 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. This property is a family-owned 800 square foot tower apartment on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. It is part of the Zilli Collection. Each with the Zilli touch of amazing view, decor, (not typical wicker furniture, silly beach artifacts, 40 year old flooring, one SIZE fits all, etc.). We call it upscale coastal. The properties are more of a resort, 5 star hotel feel. We own an elegant upscale home next door, a penthouse unit, a direct walk out unit, along with 2 units with the option to connect into one suite. You’ll find everything you need on-site from free WIFI to dishes, linens, towels and even a few extras you may need for your stay like puzzles and soap. There is a pool and a covered area with grills and picnic tables overlooking the beach. Hope to see you soon at one of my beautiful vacation homes. All you need is your bathing suit and a toothbrush. The beach is just steps away. This resort is not a place of public accommodation as defined by the ADA and, therefore, does not meet the accessibility requirements of the ADA. Our stay was only one night because we decided to extend our honeymoon an extra day due to having rain almost our whole week in Florida. The place was a little smaller than we expected, but for just the two of us, that was OK. It was nicely decorated and had a beautiful view of the Gulf. We spent a little time sitting on the beach (most of what you need...chairs, umbrella, cooler, etc. are in the unit), went to dinner at the Lazy Lobster & watched the sunset (even though it was a cloudy one) from the balcony. It is a nice area, though we weren't there long enough to do much exploring. Communication with Jim was good & his responses were quick.

Beautiful condo with absolutely everything you need for the perfect day @ the beach! The condo was beautifully decorated and spotless. We were right on the beach with an amazing view! It is located in a quiet area with very few people on the beach. We had a very relaxing & fantastic week, I don’t think it could of been any better. Jim Z made everything easy with great communication.

Would highly recommend this property! Beautiful location, condo unit, beach! No need to leave if you don’t want to. Everything you need is right there! We arrived 3 hours before our check in time, I texted Owner Jim to see if we could check in early. He replied right away and had his cleaning crew arrive early to clean the condo. Beautiful updated condo.

We had a great time. Longboat Key is now our favorite destination. The veaches were beautiful and not crowded. The water was crystal clear. We saw an abundance of wildlife. Our condo was very clean and well appointed with a great view and our host, Jim Zilli ,was awesome. He made the process easy, offered great tips and was in constant communication to make sure we had a great stay. Thanks Jim.

We loved our stay at this property. Everything was above our expectations- from the condition of the unit to the awesome location right on the beach to amazing views. Jim went above and beyond making sure we had what we needed, provided recommendations for the area and was a great host. Can’t go wrong with this unit. We’ll definitely return!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this condo right on the beach. Zilli Tower 503 is on the top floor of this small resort, and the floor to ceiling windows provided a beautiful view each day. I loved opening the slider doors as soon as we woke up and hearing the gulf-immediate sense of relaxation. This unit overlooks the small lawn, two pavilions for guest use (important to us because I don’t want to spend hours in the sun), and then nothing but views of the private beach and the water. We walked along the beach everyday and this intimate resort seemed to have the best beach access-just walk out your door and it’s there. The unit itself was roomy for us, clean, attractively decorated, had everything we needed, and the beds were very comfortable. Jim, the owner sent out a packet with all the information needed to enjoy a stay on Long Boat Key as well as lots of suggestions of what to do and see and where to eat on LBK and in the Sarasota area if you want to do more than relax on the beach. We went to several of the suggested attractions and restaurants and enjoyed them all. He also texted a day or two after arrival to see if all was perfect. It was.

Host Jim Z went above and beyond in communications and fixed a very minor problem within the hour. You can’t find a better value on Longboat. We look forward to a return visit.

The beaches on Longboat Key are some of the best Florida has to offer. The Turtle Crawl property was possibly constructed in the 1970’s and consists of one main building (floors 1-5) and over time numerous detached rental structures have been added. The property’s gulf coast location is “primo”! I recommend the structures on the property be ascetically remodeled to maintain the architectural standards for a property located on Longboat Key.
The week I visited, exterior stucco repairs were in progress on the main structure. However, construction workers were not present during my stay.
To acquire keys to the unit, you must enter the property’s front office. The office space hasn’t been updated & looks a bit unorganized and haphazard. The staff was friendly & helpful enough. To access the upper floors of the building, there is an operable elevator, but the floor buttons can be contrary. Be patient or take the stairs.
Upon entering the unit as advertised, it is decorated tastefully and has an impeccable 5th floor view! A few yards below, the property has wonderful beach accessibility. The unit offers amenities such as beach umbrellas, ice chests & beach towels for guest’s use. I found these items very helpful.
The unit is advertised to accommodate 6 people. However, after my stay, I would reevaluate the 1-bedroom unit to accommodate no more than 2-adults and 2-small children. The bedroom’s square footage is too small to accommodate 2-queen beds. Therefore, there is no room to walk around the beds or adequately access the closet. A kingsize bed would better accommodate the space offered. The mattresses are ‘saggy’ and are in need of an upgrade for comfort. There is a sleeper sofa available, I suspect it would be best for 2-small children vs adults. The kitchen is equipped adequately except, it does not have a dishwasher. There is plenty of hot water when taking a shower. It’s close to scalding temperature…I’d consider turning down the water heater. Do take caution if traveling with small children.
One security concern, the lock on the sliding glass patio door is ‘persnickety’ and the latch doesn’t engage well. This requires some maintenance.
The HVAC filter was dirty and in need of a change. Overall, the unit did not appear as being Covid clean or sanitized. During our stay, we incurred a cleaning fee, so I have standards and expectations. I I recommend cleaning inspections between guest’s scheduled stays.

The property was clean and the beds were very comfortable. It was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. It had a great view from the balcony. The beach was beautiful. The only downside was the hotel was having some repair work at the time that we had to maneuver around on the main level. Which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that we enjoyed our stay immensely.

Planning our next visit
In addition to having the best owner/manager we could hope for (Jim Zilli/Zilli Management), the top floor unit is nicely appointed, very clean and has a perfect view of the private beach and the ocean. Having two comfortable queen beds in the bedroom is wonderful (especially in the event of a sunburn 🙂).
