Pet-Friendly Backyard Oasis in the Nations
About this house rental
Welcome to 5004 Michigan Avenue, our cozy bungalow in the heart of Nashville’s newest hotspot. Built in 1961, this single level brick home is chock full of homey comforts. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the front porch in the morning and a glass of wine by the fire pit out back in the evening. We have loved this retro, family-style house for the past twelve years, and we are sure you will too. We have three private bedrooms, two with en-suite bathrooms. The futon in the living room folds out for additional (though not private) sleeping space. While we are pet-friendly, we ask that pets remain off the furniture during your stay. Plates, utensils, glasses, and refrigerator are all available for use in the kitchen. We ask that guests refrain from helping themselves to items in the refrigerator or pantry, however. A rolling bin is outside the back door for trash disposal.

This is a fantastic place to stay, especially if you want to be in the Nations. Not a lot of yards or off-street parking available in that area, but this property has both. And the house is clean and comfortable as well. We’ll be back for sure.

We were driving from Fort Worth to Asheville and this place was the perfect oasis. Comfortable rooms and a fantastic backyard all very clean and inviting. The neighborhood is a nice place to take a walk to stretch your legs after a long car ride. Don’t miss this place on your way through Nashville!

We were in town for wedding celebration at Fat Bottom Brewing. This house was very convenient to the venue. The area was surprisingly quite. The house was exactly as listed.

We love this location, and Anitra was so helpful and even let us check in early. The only negative was the mattress on one of the beds was not comfy, and the bed was short for my tall hubby.

We loved staying at this property! It is located in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. The inside is charmingly decorated and the backyard is a garden lover’s dream. The owner is easily contacted and responds quickly. (We had no issues-only a question). Walking distance to several breweries and eateries. Highly recommend!

Such a comfortable house to stay in. So much character and Nashville charm. The back yard is a sanctuary! Great deck, garden, and plenty of room to let the kiddos run around. Awesome location, 15 minutes to everything. Our family of four was very comfortable!

A true spot to disconnect & unwind. An inviting backyard to enjoy into the evening with string lights around a fire pit. An easy, walkable distance to a great breakfast spot.

The place was exactly as presented. It is a welcoming place that makes one feel immediately comfortable. The yard was very nice and was enjoyed as we were traveling with our dog. The location is great! As our niece is making her permanent residence in Nashville; we would stay here again.

The host and the property were awesome! Cute, quirky, fun place that has everything you need. We went for a girls weekend and the three full baths were greatly appreciated!! Perfect place for a get away. Close enough to all of the happenings on Broadway but far enough away to get away from the craziness. Anitra and Matt are great hosts, super quick to respond, and very accommodating. We hoped to sit around the fire pit but the weather did not cooperate. We would stay there again in a minute!! Loved it!

We (people and dogs) really enjoyed our stay here. It was nice to have two ensuite bedrooms and the location was great. The back yard is cozy and if it hadn’t been raining we would have used the fire pit. Definitely will stay here again.

This property was exactly what we were looking for as far as location. We wanted something in close proximity to downtown Nashville but that also had bars & restaurants close by. This property had both of these things. The neighborhood was also very nice. The complaint we have is that it was not very clean. There was an abundance of cobwebs & build up of dust. In the bedroom at the end of the hall on the left with its own bathroom, there were cobwebs in the bathroom that were dark & dirty indicating they probably have been there awhile. Not all the lights on the vanity worked. The ceiling fan had fixtures that had no bulbs. The picture on the wall above the dresser was coated with dust. In the living room there was cobwebs from the big plant next to the TV to the floor. The bookshelves had not been dusted in awhile either. The small table in the kitchen had ring marks from glasses and appeared to not have been wiped off. It started to make us question the cleanliness of the bedding etc... Guests are required to pay $100 cleaning fee. Exactly what is that covering? Them making the beds and washing the towels? We enjoyed our time in Nashville but we would most likely not stay here again.

Nice place that is well set up for guests. It was just what we needed for a guy's weekend. Not too far from the West End where we were hanging out. Frothy Monkey is a good coffee and breakfast spot right around the corner. Pleasant interactions with the host.

Overall our stay was great! We needed to check in early due to the hurricane coming to our area and they were absolutely amazing with accommodating that.
The house is decorated so calm and relaxing. The backyard was great for the kids. Fire pit was fun at night! The street itself was very nice but if you went a couple streets down the area wasn’t that great. It was very close to Downtown which was a huge plus.
We did have a lot of trouble with the tv remote. It wouldn’t work correctly which was frustrating because the kids wanted to watch tv. They also do NOT have cable, I think that should be noted in the description especially for families with kids. They do have Hulu and Netflix though.
The house is older so there were some cracks and stuff in the bathroom around the bathtub. I wouldn’t say the house is very much kid friendly, a lot of fragile items around.
Overall, the stay was fantastic though. They host were so helpful and understand. Thank you for the great hospitality!

The house is adorable and in a great spot! We were in town for a concert. It was maybe a 15 minute Uber ride to get down near Broadway. Once back at the house, there were a handful of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops within walking distance. The house is very cozy and the backyard is fantastic. I really enjoyed staying here.
