Area I accept a stay of 2 days if it fits in the schedule (please mail me direct) .I ask people to be quiet to the neighbours. The quiet comfortable apartment is situated on the ground floor of an 18th century monumental building in the Jordaan district. The area is famous for history, trendy shopping, bars and restaurants. And is situated in the city centre of Amsterdam. Apartment is located 50 metres from Prinsengracht, hundred metres from Noordermarkt, 500 metres from Anne Frankhouse with free view on Violettenstraat. Markets Twice a week there is a local market (Monday: flee market and on Saturdays a farmer market). Close to the canals The apartment borders the canal district, is close to the Ann Frank House and nearby all other sight-seeing attractions in town (5- 20 minutes walk). Ground floor apartment Living/dining The apartment is well furnished in an understated fashion. The apartment is 110 sq m (about 1050 sq ft). Renovated kitchen and bathroom (end 2012). The living/dining room has a superb view in front and a patio at the rear. The sofa also serves as two/three separate(quest) beds. There is a cable TV and stereo with CD-player. There is a computer with wi-fi. Kitchen The kitchen has an oven, coffee-maker, dishwasher and microwave. Bedroom The very quiet bedroom is at the rear and behind this bedroom there is a large bathroom with toilet/bath and separate shower. The bedroom has a double (not separable) bed of 2.00-2.00. It is very quiet and has open doors to the patio. Childbed available. There are three bikes available. Keywords: Apartment

We fled this property within an hour of arriving due to extensive black mold infestation making the unit hazardous and uninhabitable. Despite the listing portraying a clean, comfortable apartment, my family was horrified to discover many square meters of mold growth covering walls, mattresses, and throughout the bathroom. The health risks posed were severe. We rapidly contacted the host to alert them and booked emergency hotel accommodations (for a month!) as the apartment was unsafe for habitation, especially with children who are asthmatic.
I immediately contacted VRBO upon this unacceptable discovery, providing extensive photo/video documentation of the full mold infestation revealing inaccurate listing representations. Incredibly, the host played ignorant, pretending to not understand the hazardous nature of such rampant black mold. After filing a case, VRBO representatives were responsive and understood the gravity of the misrepresentations and health violations. They mediated appropriately on my behalf to secure a full refund from the host. We are grateful for the full reimbursement but extremely troubled by the dishonest listing neglecting to show such a hazardous unit, and the host's indifference to our distress initially.
I cannot recommend in good faith until the host comprehensively addresses the root moisture/ventilation issues fostering such alarming mold. Rent safely.

The house is very well located and it’s a nice relation price-quality. The host is pretty friendly and is always ready to help.
However, it’s not very clean and doesn’t feel cozy.

This apartment is in a great location! Paul was very easy to work with. If you are looking for an updated apartment with modern furnishings, this is not the place for you. The apartment was very functional and met our needs. Very close to a grocery store and easy to get to the main tourist areas from this location. Enjoyed our stay.

It is a wonderful space for a larger group. Good kitchen space. Quiet neighborhoods close to the down town core. Just remember it is a 18th century home so it has character. Loved our stay and would recommend to friends.

Myself and my wife thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pauls accommodation. The location was just perfect (Jordaan is lovely).
Communication was quick and easy - especially given all the trouble we had getting to Amsterdam (all flights from the UK were cancelled and we had fo fly out the following day). Paul was very understanding and stayed in regular contact right up til we arrived.
The accommodation was perfect for us and the stress of 2 days travel soon disappeared (a lovely bottle of wine from Paul helped with that !).
The accommodation was very much a home rather than a hotel, which is what we were after.
I'd happily recommend staying here and hope to do so again in the future.

The property is well situated and in a great area. It is very old, was acceptably clean, but basics such as linen are in need of replacement. It would have also been useful if some tourist information had been provided e.g. a map of Amsterdam.
Communication with the host was easy.

Everything was walking distance. Wasn’t particularly clean but an easy sacrifice to make for the superb location. 5 of us fit comfortably.

We understood that this property was old but in a good location for sightseeing. We were not prepared for the dirt. The property was very grotty, floors not swept properly before washing so all was done was the dirt was pushed around the floor. The bucket of dirty water was left in the courtyard area for our entire 3 night stay. The courtyard itself was unswept, cigarette butts on the floor - dried out dying pot plants. The bathroom had been home renovated and was terrible - cracked tiles, dirty shower curtain. One of the light switches was broken - not safe.
The bed was reasonably comfortable, oven filthy.
Very sorry we stayed there.

I have traveled many places and am not picky about places to stay, but this...........
We were supposed to stay in the apartment for 3 days. We contacted VRBO and asked them to move us somewhere else, as we felt that it was downright harmful to our health to stay in the bathroom and bedroom that were full of fungus.
the rest of the apartment was, as others describe, only superficially cleaned.
We recommend that you read all reviews before renting this property (we wish we had)

The property needed some cleaning, decluttering some fixing up and paint. But was in a good neighborhood, had what we needed. Property had low price compared to what was around it.

The apartment is as pictured, but larger than it appears to be. Very accessible to everywhere in the city, and in a quiet neighborhood. The ad says it is wheelchair accessible, but in the true meaning of the phrase- it isnt for anyone that cant walk up a step. The rooms are large enough to accommodate a wheelchair, but there is a step up into the bathroom and again into the shower. It is suitable for a child or someone that is dependent on assistance, as there is plenty of room to help up the step.. A chair can move freely thru the apartment otherwise. Paul is a great host, and always available for questions, directions and problems. I would definitely stay here again.

Great host in a great location. Only reason I’m not giving it a 5 is because it was a bit dusty. Bathroom for sure needs some work but it was doable for 3 guys.

Amazing location and good basic accommodations in the Jordaan. We enjoyed hearing the church bells in our little patio. The bathroom is beat up but perfectly functional. For this price and location we were pleasantly surprised with the full kitchen including a dishwasher. Great stay and I would come back,

Communication with the owner was very good. When we came the flat was not ready, because we were early, but the owner let us leave our luggage there. The flat is well equipped, kitchen and bathroom are quite nice. Overall our impression was very good.

For the most part we liked this apartment. The location was easy to find and in a mostly quiet neighborhood. It wasn’t a bad walk to get to the locations we wanted to see and there is a grocery store about a minutes walk away. Paul was easy to contact and a very good host. Even gave us a bottle of wine which was very much appreciated after spending all day traveling. The apartment itself could use some work. Repaint the walls, replace caulking around the bathtub, get new towels for the bathroom. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The location and the owner were great. The place is falling apart.wires and cobwebs drape the ceiling, cracks in walls and floors, serious mold in bath tiles. BUT the location is perfect, and it is very large. Owner Paul is very responsive and nice.

The host is a warm, funny, lovely guy who greeted us with a bottle of wine. We agree with most reviews here that this apartment is very well located near grocery options and attractions and it’s well equipped. It just needs some TLC and regular, proper dusting…and it can get a bit musty if it rains (allergy sufferers take heed). The smaller bikes pictured in the listing had been stolen prior to our arrival, so they were not available, but overall it was a pleasant stay and relatively decent value.

Good value for money. The apartment is really well located, in the City center, close to everything. The distribution of the apartment is super nivel, with a garden in the middle and Big Windows to allow the Sun shine in the apartment. It has clean. If I came back to AMS, I would repeat in the same location.

Host was superior with communication and friendly. The location can’t be beat. Steps away from the canals, restaurants, markets, and shopping. Super convenient! The property is a bit tired and ill repaired but spacious. If you want a great location at a good rate, it’s a super option. If you want fancy, we’ll maintained, and clean you may want to look for a different option. Overall, we did enjoy our stay.
