Beautiful views of the Ala Wai, mountains, and golf course. Kitchen and lanai dining, really just the best. In-building assigned parking and enhanced WIFI = A real and true savings!! Our intention is to provide a warm comfortable blending of OLD and NEW Hawaii. LOCATION: Located at the intersection of Kuhio and Royal Hawaiian Avenues. This places you at the hub of Waikiki. The beach is a short walk, bus service in front of the building, several convenience stores within ½ block, tourist shopping within 1 block, super market short blocks, International Market Place is 3 short blocks. Walk, ride, or drive you are in the right place. THE BUILDING: The Royal Kuhio is 38 stories tall and has a number of preferred amenities. Entering the beautiful lobby you will notice the security station and 'keyed' access doors to the elevator lobbies. The 7th floor boasts a number of options. You can simply sun bathe, or avail yourself of the pool, exercise room, saunas, or putting green. FTo keep the kids occupied the 7th floor also offers ping pong. Both charcoal and gas BBQ’s are available. A large covered paved stone open air lanai is available for your enjoyment. Just in case you need to wash a few clothes the 7th floor coin operated laundry has more than 20 washing and drying machines. In building reserved parking is included at no extra charge. NOTE: Diamond Head portion of deck closed for remodeling. THE CONDO: Gary’s place is privately owned and non smoking. It is located on the 30th floor of the building facing the quiet and serene Ala Wai, golf course, and the mountains. The condo is designed to offer the client a wide range of choices. For example, the full kitchen permits you the choice of full meal preparation, light meals, snacks, or just cold drinks. Temperature comfort: open the lanai door and feel the breeze, or turn on the ceiling fan, or for those that like it simply cold close the door and “crank up” the A/C. BATHING OPTIONS: The combination tub shower allows you to choose either a soothing “soak” in the tub or a refreshing shower ranging from very cool to steaming hot. ENTERTAINMENT: A 32" flat screen remote control cable T.V A combination radio/CD player, A combination VHS/DVD player. Or perhaps just the quiet and a good book. Also, for the home video folks the T.V. is capable of viewing your camcorder via cables or “S” plug-in. SLEEPING OPTIONS: The condo is equipped with a king size bed and a queen sleeper couch. COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT : FREE high speed internet. WIFI. FREE unlimited local calls. The phone is direct dial long distance and international call capable with credit or phone cards. THE KITCHEN: Just in case 'eating-in' is your preferred option the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, casserole baking dishes, blender, waffle maker, rice cooker, crock pot, toaster and coffee maker. The fridge is a full sized 18 cubic feet, 4 burner stove with oven and broiler, microwave, and of course a dishwasher. LINENS: Bath and bedding linens provided. Beach towels too! ANALYSIS: Gary’s place is centrally located; offers many choices, provides vacation value; the building has excellent facilities, is well maintained, and offers 24/7 security. From the moment we walked in to the day we left, it felt like home. The host made sure to provide essential items to make this long term stay as comfortable as possible.
By being on the mauka side, you have a beautiful view from the lanai. Beach items and games were provided for use during the stay. Everything is as pictured and was a great choice in the heart of Waikiki. Conveniently in walking distance to many restaurants, stores, and beaches. The building and unit are greatly secured and create a safe environment. Plus, it came with a parking spot, which was essential for my stay and scarce in Waikiki.
Gary’s Place is truly the jackpot!

Gary’s place was clean, had everything we needed for our vacation. Can’t beat the location, it was close to everything. The International Market Place, the Beach, Restaurants, a bus stop right in front of the building. And the parking garage was a real plus. Would definitely stay there again!

My sister and I had a wonderful time at Gary's place. The apartment was clean and it had all of the appliances we needed to prep / cook meals. The location was also convenient; it's about a 5 - 10 minute walk to the beach and the room is very quiet because it is on the 30th floor. Lastly, the owner was very professional. Gary responded quickly and effectively to any questions we had. I would recommend this place to a friend!
P.S. You can see a great view of the sun rising over the mountains from the lanai!

It was conveniently located, room was clean, cozy, nice as described, balcony has a good view. Couch needs replaced but covered it with clean linen they provided. Overall room was very nice and as described, would definitely recommend if you are budget minded and not overly sensitive by the lack of luxury. Owner went above and beyond to provide the basics of home...

Great stay aside from the 30th floor location
Cleanliness was excellent. Spacious enough for a smaller unit.. Attention to interior design. King size bed. Comfy sofa. Clean & complete small kitchen. Plenty of towels. Great view of hillside.
Window air conditioner needed to be drained manually.
Location of 30th floor resulted in total dependency of elevators. At a busy time, they got extremely crowded and stopped at almost every floor.
Once the power was shut down for the entire building with insufficient notification. I had an emergency errand to the pharmacy to make but was not able to leave the room & no one was available to speak to by phone after calling three different numbers. Eventually a maintenance assistant returned my call later & explained that the elevators were being worked on. But, the posted signage by the lobby elevators only stated that the laundry room would be affected.
Overall, though, we had a very good experience & did enjoy our stay.

Great value
Very close to all the upscale attractions Waikiki has to offer. The A/C in the unit is a must have for those not used to the climate, just have to empty the water catch twice a day which isn't a big deal. Comfy bed. The reserved parking spot is also one of the best perks of this rental. Great stay all around.

Rocky Start but Smooth Sailing
When my family and I got to the property the cleaners had not cleaned from the previous guests according to Gary. He was quick to respond and get us to a Hotel next door since it was too late to get a cleaner to the property. The very next day we arrived and everything was smooth sailing from there!

A winner in Waikiki
Stayed here with my kids. The location was absolutely perfect for what I wanted and having parking for our rental was the cherry on top! We used the beach gear and that just made the trip even easier!! I only wish we could have stayed longer!

Amazing Condo with an Amazing Owner
Gary is an amazing owner of an equally amazing condo. He was so kind, concerned and caring about our stay and only wanted the absolute best for us. His home is an amazing place to stay. Make sure to have coffee on the lani life out there watching the canal just does not get any better.

*GREAT LOCATION*
I really enjoyed the great location it was walking distance to almost everything from food to fun.The condo was very well stocked with everthing you will need from pots, pans, spoons, forks etc and even napkings it is very well maintained and cleaned check in was no hassle parking was easy to find because it comes with the room everyone who worked their was nice and helpful and the place is very secure and for it to be smack dead in ther middle of waikiki it is very quite in the room in fact so quiet we didnt even know if anyone even stayed on the same floor thats how quiet it is that was a plus especially on nights you just wanted to rest i really appreciate Gary making our stay enjoyable and simple which mean we had no hassles with ANYTHING that is a plus to me because when you are on vacation that is the very thing you are trien to get away from so thanks Gary for that

This was a great little condo! The location was amazing; we were within walking distance of everything in Waikiki. I appreciated how secure the building was (you can't even access the elevators without a key fob). It was well stocked and had everything we needed. We would stay here again.

Gary's Place
Loved staying here. The big draw was the balcony/lanai. We had our own parking space, though we walked everywhere in Waikiki since the condo is conveniently located close to everything. Gary stocks a full kitchen, bathroom, and even provides cleaning supplies as well as beach equipment. It was like staying at home. It saved us so much money and headache by not having to purchase or bring extra things, we actually only had to bring carry-on luggage. Gary was also easy to get in touch with and replied quickly. I would definitely recommend anyone wanting to stay in the Waikiki area to stay at Gary's place. Thanks Gary! You made our honeymoon stay awesome! Hated to leave.

Mini vacation
I went to Oahu for couple days and stayed at Royal Kūhiō. Like it a lot most especially the security system. From entering the elevator from the garage and going to the unit. You have the security devise that you use to go in and out the elevator and the main lobby to go to your unit.
The unit itself was just perfect . King size bed very comfortable. I didn’t bother to use the air conditioner since I’m on the 30th floor the breeze coming in was just I wanted. Experience the island weather I just open all the window . The kitchen was complete what your basic gadgets. With extra tamper-wares to pack your food to the beach. The cooking pans could be replace and the knives can be a little sharp for slicing.
First night after shower the tub drain was stacked. Had to call the maintenance the next day. And sure did they fix it right away. It was chairs and beach umbrella, one was broken. It has beach towels and extras.
Perfect location, across is McDonald’s for perfect island breakfast ( rice, sausage and eggs) walking distance to all the stores and restaurants.
Definitely if ever I get the chance to come back I’ll stay at this unit again.

Location, location, location
Gary's place is located perfectly in Waikiki just across the street from T Galleria and an amazing Japanese food court. It's always great to have free parking but if you are not renting a car, the bus stop is right underneath the building. Gary's place is well maintained, stocked with everything you need for some time at the beach!

We had a wonderful time in Hawaii and even better was the accommodation available at Gary's Place. Location was excellent, right across the street from McDonald's and a block away our favourite Udon place. Gary's Place has everything you need for a family of 3-4. Kitchen is stocked with what you need to make your own food and there was some water equipment along with chairs you could use on the beach. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to have a great place to stay at a good price while travelling to Hawaii. Oh yes, free parking is always a bonus as it's hard to park for free near Waikiki. We loved Gary's Place and will definitely be going back next time we are in Honolulu. Thanks for everything Gary.

Amazing Location, everything you need
We stayed a week at Gary's. The location cannot be beat for this location. The apartment had everything you need: full kitchen, lots of (fluffy) towels, beach towels, comfy bed, PARKING!!! The host is very responsive. We had a clogged shower and the host immediately called for repair. Overall, very comfortable for 2-3.

So perfect for me!
From the welcoming lobby, to the aloha decor, this unit was perfect for me. The location is great, with the bus stop out front, the two block walk to the beach, and the thoughtful amenities in the unit. From the beach towels, to the vases above the fridge, Gary has it all ready for your island stay! The 7th floor facilities are a hidden gem, as I could sit in the shade, or swim in the sun in the pool while I did my laundry, and the breezes remind you that you really are in paradise! I will be back, but not soon enough. Thank you for sharing your Hawaiian hideout!

Great stay
The condo is the perfect place to stay if you want to be in the center of Waikiki and be able to walk everywhere. The canal view is beautiful at night and is a bit more quiet than facing Kuhio Street (there is no escaping all traffic noise in Waikiki) . We never heard our neighbors either.
The free parking is probably the biggest benefit.
The condo is small, but works for 2 people - I wouldn’t be able to do it with 4 adults. We had 2 large suitcases and 2 large travel golf bags and it was a challenge finding space to store them, but we made it work.
The 7th floor is a nice area and the washateria area is large. Gary also provides everything you need for a day at the beach.
