About this house rental
Situated in Door County, this lovely house for $765 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. A perfect location between Sister Bay and Baileys Harbor. This home is away from the hustle and bustle of the towns, yet conveniently situated when needing last minute items or when wanting a little more activity. We just finished extensive remodel in 2017. We have installed Premier One UV Air whole house purifier system to the HVAC system. It is a germicidal air purifier that uses ultra violet light. Our cleaning company is using CDC cleaning guidelines on every cleaning. We are NOT suppling towels at this time. Guests need to bring their own towels. We want you to be able to relax on your visit. The house was recently finished in 2018 with a major interior remodeling. The remodeling project includes: hardwood flooring, painting, new custom kitchen, bathroom work, including 2 new tiled showers, and new mattresses. We are very excited to update the interior of our home to make it up to date and inviting. Recently added Starlink wifi for speed over 150 mbps! That's impressive for Door County. This property has a gorgeous view of the historical Cana Island lighthouse which is within walking distance. It is also located next to one of the State of Wisconsin Forests known as Spike Horn and Baileys Harbor Boreal Forest, which have large beautiful hiking paths and natural sand beach frontage. Kayak info: The fishing from Cana Island and through out nearby Moonlight Bay boasts a lot of fishing opportunities from Small Mouth Bass and Northern Pike to occasional Brown Trout. We have 2 fishing kayaks available at home. This sturdy kayaks can be used for just checking out the beautiful shorelines to catching a DC trophy. Please follow kayak instructions when using. The home, built in 1990, has all the modern conveniences you would expect. The two screened porches, facing lakeside, capture the beauty of the water and the lighthouse, as does the expansive deck. Both rooms have plenty of furniture to relax in. We have a pier with a swim ladder. The water gradually drops off. Note water levels very greatly in DC from year to year. The interior of the home has a foyer and great room which boasts a two-story ceiling with many windows that allow the natural light and surrounding beauty to enter from each side. The new custom kitchen is spacious and and opens up to the dining and great room. It is gorgeous! Appliances are new with dishwasher, and refrigerator with an ice maker. The laundry room has a washer and dryer for your convenience. Capable of hosting many guests this three bedroom home has access to three full baths. The master bedroom and bath are located on the main level as is the second bedroom and a full bath. The second level has a loft bedroom with a full bath. The living room has a new sectional couch with new double hide a bed. The 6 acre lot is fully wooded with majestic cedars and pines. View wildlife visiting the back yard and enjoy a campfire in the fire pit next to the water. PLEASE READ RENTAL AGREEMENT. *** All stays less than 1 week or overlapping designated turnover day during peak season are subject to approval. We only book weekly during July and August unless there is an odd date open and prefer Saturdays for turnover dates.

Home is beautiful and nicely decorated. Kitchen is well stocked with all the dishes you might need for cooking. The surrounding woods are gorgeous and such a nice walk! We were disappointed by the emptiness of the house (towels although we were warned about this) only one game and one book, no paper towels. Trash can was empty (no liner) although the owner told me where to find them.

We enjoyed the quiet property and fall colors. Favorite activities included bike riding on Sunset Trail and making s’mores around beachside fire pit. Kitchen is open and welcoming for family meals and after dinner games. We loved the fall colors and cool weather, two pleasures we don’t have much of in our South Carolina home.

This is a lovely home, surrounded by beautiful trees. The lake is across a roadway, but since we were there in mid October, it is not a busy road. The home is updated, and in good condition. There are two separate 3 season porches, one off 2 nearby bedrooms and one off the dining room. It’s a nice feature to have these two separate spaces. The location in Baileys Harbor is much quieter than in all the towns on the western side of Door County. We really appreciated that, and most things were only 10 to 20 minutes away. There is a number lock on the front door, but it must not be operable, as the door was unlocked with keys available when we arrived, and we had to leave the house unlocked when we departed. I would prefer not to arrive or depart an unlocked house, for safety and security purposes. Since the house is quite private and somewhat remote, it would be nice to have some sort of blind or curtains on the first floor windows for security. There are curtains in the living room, two main floor, bedrooms, and bathroom.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay, have already recommended this house to friends, and will look for it again if we venture to Door County!

We were looking for a location on the bay side of Door country for the sunsets but never regretted our choice as the moon and sun rises on Lake Michigan side gave us plenty of remarkable pictures in a more secluded stay!
We'll definitely look forward to renting this location again!

Great week up in Door County. Very clean house. We enjoyed walking to the lighthouse every morning and another walk after exploring during the day. Had two very good meals in Baileys Harbor, would go there again. Centrally located to Sisters Bay, Ephraim and Fish Creek. Saw deer in the back yard on several occasions. Only thing I would suggest bringing is washcloths for kitchen, that was not provided. Wish there were some games, movies or books to choose from but will remember to bring my own next time. Only complaint was banging noise from furnace and water softener woke us up a couple of nights. Wish we would have used kayaks but it was chilly during our stay. All in all a very nice stay. I would recommend.

This home is great for 6 to 8 people. Wonderful to have 3 bathrooms. Having walk in showers is perfect for us all.(note: wish the upstairs toilet was taller.) Loved the kitchen and great room too. It was nice to have more than one TV. If the weather had been better we would have enjoyed the deck and screened porch for socializing.

House is welcoming. Spacious and yet cozy! We had a “great” family bonding in the living room and in the dinning table. The kitchen is well equipped. I took my brother and his 3 kids salmon fishing at Bailey harbor, they had a blast! I love that the 3 bedrooms have their own bathroom.
We adults (4) enjoyed our visit to Cana island lighthouse. It’s a short walk from the house. The kids used the kayaks for hours, we got worried & check on them but they are having a great time at the lake.
The house is relaxing that we took a lot of naps after our activities.

The property was lovely and met our needs beautifully. We were a family of Grandma, Grandpa, two adult daughters, one 7year old granddaughter and a significant other! Access to the water was easy which was important to all if us. Two brought their own kayaks and enjoyed the ease of entering the bay.

We loved everything about the house. The kitchen is amazing and had everything we needed. It was very clean upon our arrival and the check in process was great. Even got to meet Chris, great guy! You can tell they take pride in this house plus we could park our car in the garage which a lot of rentals don’t allow so this was a plus. The house had two porches which we enjoyed at night. We were also able to bring our 2 dogs with. We were very happy with our stay and would definitely rent this house again.

Beautiful home with great views & location! We had a great time with family! Just a few things we wish were different. The picture of one of the bedrooms on the first floor showed no footboard. Had planned to have my very tall son & his wife in that room-only to find all the beds have footboards. They slept in the loft where his feet fit between the footboard rails. They made it work. The kayaks are a nice addition but the water level was so low we were unable to launch from the property & were not supposed to move them elsewhere. The road in front of the property is very busy during the day with traffic to the lighthouse & some cars went well over the 25mph speed limit. During our stay the gravel road was paved (lots of noise & asphalt smells (not the owner fault) as was the water level. Deck has lots of peeling paint but was spacious & has nice furniture. Kitchen is well equipped.

This was the perfect place to stay for our first trip to Door County. The house was cozy, yet modern. The floor plan is perfectly split between the quiet side for sleeping and the kitchen and dining at the other end for late night snacking and puzzle building on the large sprawling dining room table. The view was idyllic from every window. The location was a convenient starting point for our daily adventures to lighthouses and different places of interest. We would definitely stay there again.

My family and I had a great stay at the property. We needed a place for multiple adults, a baby, and a dog and this turned out to be the perfect place. The views of the water are beautiful and it’s only a short drive into the downtown area. The owner kindly offered us a different weekend when bad weather was expected to ensure we had a great experience. Would stay here again!

Very peaceful, lovely property. located within walking distance of a very nice public beach. The house was very nice, clean, plenty of space. Updated kitchen, living room and bathrooms. Main bedroom is plenty large as is the loft area. The only thing worth mentioning is that the loft area does not lend itself to much privacy, especially if it's all adults. Fine if there are teens or younger children using the space.

We enjoyed the peace and moderate seclusion the home provided. We woke to the glistening water view through the trees, and enjoyed the peaceful sounds of waves lapping on shore in the evening. Both Sister Bay and Bailey Harbor are within easy driving distance with plenty of shops, groceries, and restaurants. While the swim ladder wasn’t used because the water was too low, we were still able to use our kayak and SUPs without difficulty. As the listing indicated, it is quite shallow so you will not be able to swim directly off the dock. (Note, this may have been affected by the weather or the time of year so this may not always be the case). The screened porches were a peaceful place for morning coffee. We recommend the short walk to the Cana Island Lighthouse and across the causeway. Be advised, there is shallow water so your feet will get wet unless you hop on the tractor ride, and the interior of the lighthouse/keeper’s quarters are closed for restoration in 2022. Still worth a look though! Though some have commented on the check-out requirements, it really isn’t much to ask and I feel most people would gladly do these things as a courtesy anyhow. We would definitely recommend this home as a wonderful getaway!
