This property was absolutely what we were looking for. Indoors was cozy, outdoors was comfy and full of sites that you just don’t see at home. It was a very quiet relaxing weekend. Precisely what we all wanted. There were three of us. Myself and cousins who just wanted a relaxing time. We’re actually planning another stay for a longer period of time around mid spring. We’ll be calling you then.

We had s great stay. The listing was very accurate. Great view, great location and great home to stay in! Thank you so much for an enjoyable weekend.

Cozy house 2 minutes outside Luray but isolated enough to be private and dark enough for good star-gazing. Lovely vista from the roomy front porch. It's an old house but cleverly updated. The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped--and with high-quality tools, not the cheap pans and knives you sometimes get at VRBOs. We appreciated the owner meeting us and sharing the family history of the property. It belongs to a couple of Luray's original families, names you'll see several times if you read the historical bits and pieces posted around town. Be sure to check out the 2-mile-long greenway in Luray itself. Cute, cute, cute.

This home was old-fashioned and comfortable. The location was ideal for us! A short drive to the Shenandoah National Park for our week of hiking.
The host was a great communicator and I would recommend this property.

We had a wonderful stay at the Brubaker House . The house is still owned by the family that built it . We were greeted by Melissi a family member and were given the history of the property We will definitely be back

Property is as described. Close to major roads and conveniently located to SNP and other attractions.
I have to agree with the other reviews that it’s like staying at grandmas house…….
Plenty of room for families or couples. Also great for solo travelers because it is priced below hotels rates yet offers more privacy.

We have nothing but good things to say about our stay here. We immediately felt like we were at home, the kids loved exploring the property, and they even asked us to build a sunroom at our own house because they loved it so much. It’s an old house that is extremely well kept and, happily, the house was blissfully cool inside despite the 90+ heat outside. We stayed here to be close to Shenandoah National Park and the location is fantastic both for relaxing away from a busy area, but close enough to quickly get into Shenandoah National Park. If we ever travel down here again we would stay here for sure. 100% recommend booking here!

Beautiful property for a 3 generation family vacation.
The grandchildren enjoyed the yard for playing ball and frisbee. The porch swing was a relaxing place to enjoy the deer, birds and the mountain views.
Would definitely book here again!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful property.

We stayed from July 22-26 with my family. We really enjoyed our stay at the property. The house had everything we need and the Mountain View was amazing. The location of the house is in excellent location near from the major attractions. The house is old but is well taken care and is well decorated with things from the past. The only thing that was little bit of concern is the house is next to road. That could be an issues if you have young children.

Place was great to stay. Everything in listing was accurate. Very close to our destination (Shenandoah Mountains). Luray Caverns were also a great stop!

We had a great time--this house had a great view of the mountains and was close to Luray and Shenandoah. Lots of amenities, very well done.

What an adorable little home! Check in was flexible and the space was very well thought out. We loved the country feel and the yard space—the kiddos had a ball running around. It’s definitely great for families, so many little touches to make kids feel at home! Games, DVD’s, kids books, and then tons of guides and helpful information on Shenandoah as well. I just can’t get over how cute the house was! It felt like being at Grandma’s but in the BEST way. Super close to town (Walmart, restaurants, etc are 5 minutes away) but you definitely won’t know it sitting in the porch swing looking towards the mountains! You won’t be disappointed staying here!

We drove in from Pittsburgh direction to visit Shenandoah National Park. The home is cozy and clean. We went to park during daytime and enjoyed Netflix at night while doing some laundry. My adult children were excited to see apple cider Keurig pods there. This house is a hidden gem. Highly recommend.

We had such a fabulous stay at this gorgeous country home! It is MASSIVE, it has so much room! It has absolutely everything you could ever want in a vacation home. We loved hanging out in the screen porch, the front porch, and the yard. It was perfect for our dogs. There is a 360-degree view of the mountains, and at night the stars are really bright! It is so convenient in location, just 5 minutes from downtown and 5 minutes from Walmart. The manager was very kind and promptly answered all of our questions. The property was squeaky clean. We hope to return next year!

As listed, property manager Mellisi was quick to respond to texts and emails making our arrival and self check in very easy.
House was clean and very warm and cozy, every kitchen appliance and cookware supplied. Gas grill worked great.
Beds are firm which i prefer though not to everyone's taste.
Very quiet location with wonderful views and terrific sunrise.
Only possible issue is the main road is close and quite busy, anyone with children or dogs would have to be careful.
Close to town and skyline drive, for us it was a very pleasant stay.

House was roomy and cozy. The kids had a wonderful time with the games and books provided. Everyone had xomphy beds and slept well. Kitchen was well equipped. We prepared breakfast and lunches at the house and ate in restaurants for dinner. Host was very responsive and friendly. The house is in a quiet , pastoral setting but very convenient to Luray Caverns and Skyline Drive, the purpose for our trip. We enjoyed all the paintings in the house, it was like being in an art gallery! Lots of perfect nooks with comfortable chairs and lamps for reading and knitting, or napping. It was too cold to enjoy the porches but could tell they would be nice in warmer temps.

Our family of four had a lovely time at this property during our visit to the mountains. The view from the front porch is lovely and there's easy access to the quaint downtown and restaurants as well as the Wal-mart and grocery. The kitchen is very well stocked for cooking meals! You can't beat the easy access to Shenandoah National Park via the Thornton Gap entrance (and the property has great hiking guide booklets that were a big help). We also made an afternoon visit over to Bryce Resort to snow tube and that drive was only 45 minutes.

This was our second time here and was just as wonderful as the first! House is very cozy and inviting. Well furnished and very homey. If you want a comfortable and restful vacation, this is the place! Great quiet location with amazing mountain views. Front and side porches great.
Kitchen well stocked, beds very comfortable. TV good channel lineup plus dvds and vhs to watch. Could not ask for more. Host is awesome and communication outstanding.

Property was amazing and so sweet. Comfort abounds in this home. Every attention to quality and cleanliness has been taken care of. Quality furnishings, linens, kitchen items were available. Host was amazing. Nicest anywhere we've ever been. Far and away the best experience for us using VRBO. Thanks to all.

My daughter and I stayed three nights with my sister and my niece. It was the perfect, relaxing home to catch up, enjoy the views, and spend time at the National Park. The beds were so comfortable and there was plenty of room for 4 of us. The kitchen has all the amenities. The best part were the porches, both back and front to hang out and relax. Communication with owner was superb. Thank you!

Great house in the valley with views all around. Very short drive to downtown Luray and easy to access all sights in the area. House was clean, comfortable and has cool history too.

The home is in a great location for hiking (why we were there), Luray Caverns and town. Unfortunately, the house itself is old and dated. The porch and sunroom need to be cleaned as there were many cobwebs. The biggest problem we had was the house had lots of flying bugs throughout which would fly in your face and land on you. This was very annoying. Also, the sinks in the bathrooms were very small and the faucet in the one bathroom did not work well at all.

We came into town for our families wedding. We stayed and was very impressed at the location. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Would recommend for anyone enjoying a nice getaway.

It was a very welcoming place with feeling of a home. Clean, comfortable, well maintained, tastefully decorated. Three bedrooms were large enough for two couples and two children. Enjoyed morning coffee every morning at the front porch with a view of the mountains, grazing cows with the sound of birds. Loved the screened dining and sitting area adjacent to the kitchen. Melissi was very prompt, super nice and extremely helpful. Overall we had a very pleasant stay at this beautiful house.

Our family of 4 stayed at the Brubaker house for a fabulous week. The house was clean and had everything that we needed. We were happy that we were able to bring our dog and the way the house is laid out, it was easy to close some doors and know that she could not wander off and get herself into trouble.
We loved spending our mornings having coffee on the front porch, watching the cows and hummingbirds. Then, we would head out for day hiking at Shenandoah National Park. This is a perfect location to be to get into the park. In less than 20 minutes we were at an entrance that is near the middle of the park.
Everything we as we expected, and then some. Thanks for the great memories!

My two friends and I had a lovely stay at the Brubaker house just outside Luray. Melissi was very responsive, and the house was perfectly clean and very well equipped. We particularly loved the big front porch for morning coffee and afternoon snacks, very peaceful with a lovely view of the mountains and cows across the road. The house is a short drive to the caverns, or into town for shopping and meals. We would definitely stay here again.
