About this house rental
Situated in Dewey Beach, this lovely house for $749 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Adorable, Family-Friendly, Uniquely Comfortable, Short Walk to the Beach! Classic Beach House, Close to Ocean, 4 Bedrooms, Sleeps 8, 2 Full Bathrooms SeaGarden Cottage is a two-story bungalow just over a block from the beach, nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay in a classic seaside town. It's the quintessential beach bungalow, built in the 1930's but more recently expanded and remodeled with 4 bedrooms (sleeping 8) and 2 baths. Beautifully appointed and well maintained, it combines traditional beach cottage charm with modern comforts and amenities. It's our treasured escape from the hectic world and we're pleased to share it with you. Pull into the semi-circular driveway with room for 3 cars (+one parking pass provided for on-street parking). Enter through the bright front porch with picnic table and butterfly chairs into the main living space centered around a large sofa, 44” flat-panel TV w/Blu-Ray player and stereo system, stone fireplace and wood-beam walls, opening into a sun-filled dining area with a large farm-style table and gleaming galley kitchen with complete cookware, dishes and utensils. To the right is one bedroom with built-in dresser, two closets, a chest of drawers and queen-size bed; adjoining a recently (2023) remodeled full bath with walk-in shower; and a knotty pine paneled bedroom with a full bed, a closet, 32” flat-panel Roku TV w/DVD player and VCR (many VHS tapes, mostly for kids). Upstairs is the large master bath with tub; laundry room with stacking washer/dryer and closet space; master bedroom with a comfortable queen-size bed and chest of drawers; and 4th bedroom with twin beds, a chest of drawers and large closet. Our vacation home by the sea is perfect for families (highchair and Pack-n-Play provided) or couples seeking a cozy retreat just a short stroll from the ocean and local restaurants. Walk out the front door and you can see the dunes and in a couple minutes you've got your toes in the ocean! After a day at the beach rinse off in the private outdoor shower (hot & cold water), cook out on the fenced rear deck and relax on the enclosed porch. On cool evenings curl up by the glowing gas fireplace. Or hop on your bike for the short ride up Bayard Ave. along Silver Lake to downtown Rehoboth, or take the stunningly beautiful 8-mile cruise south through Delaware Seashore State Park to Indian River Inlet with its immense undeveloped beach and bathhouse w/concessions (plus great striped bass and flounder fishing!). True to the name SeaGarden Cottage, in season (~June-Sept.) there is full vegetable garden for you to pick and enjoy, along with various herbs and flowers as well. As usual with beach houses you'll need to supply your own bed sheets/comforters and bath towels. Our rental process is easy since can 'Book It' instantly and we'll respond within 24 hours. First half (50%) of rent is due 8 weeks before check-in (or upon reserving if you book instantly) and the balance 4 weeks later. After receipt of the final rent payment, we'll provide access details and additional info about 10 days before check-in to help make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. In high season (June-August) we rent only by the week. SeaGarden Cottage is unavailable for rental from September through May. We do not rent during late Spring/early Summer Graduation/Senior Weeks. SEAGARDEN COTTAGE IS GREEN! We have a 6 kW solar system to meet your energy needs with power from the sun! There is also a 240V, 50 amp NEMA 14-50 plug right by the driveway for charging your plug-in hybrid or EV fast and FREE! (A 40 amp portable charging station with 20-foot cable and J1772 plug is usually attached to this outlet, or you can use your own charger.) Great trip, great place!
Overall we were incredibly happy with the cottage! Great location, so well stocked (they thought of everything!!), adorable, Cozy and charming! We would totally rent again! If I had to give any feedback it would be that at times the cottage felt damp (could have been bc we had a ton of rain?) and I would add a bit more comfy furniture to the living room, otherwise perfection!!! Thank you!!!

VERY NICE PLACE
This was the 3rd time that we stayed at the SeaGarden Cottage. It has always been clean and well kept. It's a close walk to the beach and it has all of the amenities that we could possibly need for a week. Lee & Kathy are very responsive to any questions that you may have prior to and/or during your stay. The neighborhood can be somewhat "rowdy" at night, but once the doors are shut you can't hear them inside the cottage. Dog friendly too. Would definitely stay here again.

Another wonderful year at Seagarden Cottage!!
This was our third year at the Seagarden Cottage in Dewey Beach and again we had a fantastic time in a beautiful and well maintained home. Plenty of room for our group of 7 with space to spare. With almost everything provided for our stay and time on the beach, planning and packing for the week was easy. No reason to look anywhere else for a place that provides a vacation destination with all the comforts of our own home!

Perfect for family beach trip
House was perfect - great location to beach (short walk). House had everything we needed including sand toys for kids, some fun new board games, and a roller cart to transport towels, toys, and sunshade/umbrella to the beach. It's proximity to the beach was great and very walk-able for smaller kids (aged ~4 and 6.5).

First ever ladies week in Dewey Beach
For one week in June, a few of us mom's decided while our daughters were at 4-H Camp to spend a week at the beach. We found this gem on VRBO. Lee and Kathy responded immediately to all questions and asked a few of their own to ensure that they were leaving their home in good hands. Upon arrival, it was a very cute, quaint cottage. When we walked in, we fell in love with the décor consisting of a combination of new and updated mixed with original cottage feel. There was plenty of space with three bedrooms, 2 baths and an outside shower. We had from 3-7 ladies spending the night and there was plenty of room for everyone. It was spotless and the owners had left a very simple and thorough description of everything in the home. You can tell that they love this house and use it for themselves as it was filled with everything you could need and then some. It was an easy walk to everywhere and trips to Rehoboth were as quick as catching the trolley at the end of the street. The walk to the beach was easy, particularly with the beach buggy left for us to use. My car never left the driveway! Finally, pack up was easy as they just asked us to make sure we took out trash and did our dishes...the rest was handled by them. It was truly an amazing week-long getaway for us moms needing a break. We were all amazed at how quiet Dewey is during the week and the house was in a very quiet area, yet close to all the excitement. May I add that the garden was amazing!! Unfortunately we were not there at peak picking season, but it was precious and I did enjoy fresh mint in my mojitos. We kept it watered and even did a bit of weeding..:) Thank you for providing all that we ladies could need for a much needed vacation!

Perfect Cottage!
This was our fifth (I think) year in a row staying at the Sea Garden Cottage for our annual "Greyhounds Reach the Beach" vacation. It is perfect for us and has been very well maintained over the years. We love the amenities, the outdoor shower, the garden, and the close proximity to the beach. Another Great Stay at SeaGarden Cottage
This was our third summer spending a week at SeaGarden and we will be back again next year. The cottage is modern and comfortable. The owners (Lee & Kathy) make every effort to ensure their guests have a great experience.

Comfortable, clean and great location.
This wonderful house was clean, comfortable and accommodating. We were very happy with the two down stairs bedrooms that are great for elderly family members and/or are recovering from knee surgery. The beach is just a short walk and lovely restaurants and shops as well. The people are very friendly, even at the end of the season. Rehoboth is obtainable by trolly or a short drive. We have stayed previously in Rehoboth, twice, but I recommend staying in Dewey Beach! Less crowded beaches and quiet. The neighborhood that this house is located in was very refreshingly quiet at night. We had a house full of 20 somethings across from us, but at night....crickets! Kathy and Lee are very good at keeping you informed before, during and after your trip and are full of extra information like what do to and where to eat. Feels like you are staying at your families house.
The outdoor shower has warm water and is privately located on the back deck, which is wonderful. We loved our vacation. Thank you so much!

perfect summer get away
This is the fourth summer that we have stayed at the Sea Garden cottage and we love it! Kathy and Lee are so easy to work with, the house is adorable and its prime location! 1.5 blocks from the beach, a block from Jolly Trolly stops and in the backyard of all of Dewey's night life, yet tucked far enough away that you can still relax! So lucky I found this gem!

Another fantastic family vacation at the SeaGarden Cottage!
This was the second year that my wife and I, adult children, and grandchildren stayed in Dewey Beach at the SeaGarden Cottage. Dewey Beach is a wonderful place for a family vacation and the SeaGarden Cottage offers fantastic accommodations! The cottage is comfortable for our family of all ages with everything that is required for a relaxing stay at the beach. Being our second year, we knew that almost everything from beach toys and chairs to cribs and bicycles were available, so packing for our vacation was much easier than ever before. The house is just a block or two from both the beach and from the various restaurants in Dewey Beach. And, being just a mile from Rehoboth Beach, it is easily accessible by bicycle or even walking without the congestion and crowds there. All around, SeaGarden Cottage is a great place for a family vacation!
