We enjoyed our stay in Rapid City at this cute little home. It was directly across the street from a big park, great for the boys, with turf and basketball hoops and walking trails.
We knew that there was another unit in the basement, however we didn’t know it was occupied by full time renters, assumed it was another short term. That was a bit shocking and a bit uncomfortable since we had hard word floors and they probably could hear everything!
Otherwise the place was perfect just for our family of 4. Having a washer/dryer was great!

Comfy king bed. Plenty of kitchen supplies. Close to a grocery, park, tennis courts.
Only downside was someone living in lower level. We worried about making too much noise. We are ones to be up early and on the go.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Julie’s lovely, cozy home. Julie was extremely helpful with local recommendations and answering any and all of our questions. We would look forward to staying there again to further explore this beautiful area!

The house was just as pictured and the location was perfect for visiting the national parks as well as Custer State Park. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were very comfortable, and having a garage was also nice.
When we got to the facility it was very clean, however, two days before we were to check out we woke up to mouse droppings on the kitchen counters and in all of the kitchen drawers. When I contacted the owner at check out, she told me she was sorry and that mice can be a problem in the fall but that the cleaners had disinfected everything and set out traps. She also asked me not to leave the mouse issue in the review but I did not feel it was ethical of me to leave it out.

The house is has a great feeling to it. We felt comfortable just hanging out. We had our dog with us & the park down the street was convenient for dog walking. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the over all experience. Julie has created a nice space with many design details.

This house was perfect for us. It was very nicely decorated, comfortable king sized bed and plenty of towels. All the cooking utensils we needed were there. Nice big TV if you need that and wifi. There are room heaters in each room and a cooler appliance, but the weather was perfect for our stay and we didn’t really need either one. The front porch was nice to sit out on in the evening. The location is right across from a well used huge city park with plenty of walking trails. There was a nice washer and dryer set. There were options for making coffee - a drip maker and a Keurig machine. Rapid City was a great location to go see lots of things around the SW part of SD - Rushmore, Custer SP, etc.

My husband and I had a wonderful 4 night stay at this cute house. I loved sitting on the front porch in the morning and having my cup of coffee as the sun began to rise. I loved walking across the street to the lovely park. I loved the short drive to the downtown area for shopping and great local restaurants. And I loved how convenient to Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Badlands NP, and Crazy Horse.

Super cute house in a great central location for everything we wanted to do in the Black Hills. Everything was clean and comfortable. Julie was wonderful to work with.

This felt like more of an apartment set up than a house. There are two tenants who rent the downstairs of the home. This was disclosed in the listing description but at the very bottom, and very brief. We travelled with two young kids and received a noise complaint (before 8:30pm) from the people living in the basement. My son was fighting sleep and for 10 mins MAX was banging his feet on his pack n play. If you have children, I wouldn’t recommend staying at this home. I also think the owner should consider not allowing people with young children to stay at this property if noise is going to be an issue (or take this up with your renters). We did the best we could but with hardwood floors all throughout the home I’m sure they heard everything. Aside from that the home is in a good location and had what we needed. There’s no channels on the TV so you have to bring your own streaming device, and I felt the covers used on the beds could have used a wash. They were dirty/stained. Overall the experience was fine, but I wouldn’t have booked in the first place if the roommate description was more outwardly disclosed.

This is one of our favorite houses - super clean, full fridge in a well-appointed kitchen with everything you need. We were able to use containers and lids to pack fruit for day trips to Devils Tower WY, Spearfish Canyon, and the Badlands. Great front porch and super helpful to have a washer and dryer after a long day of hiking. A market down the street, a pool for those interested for a nominal fee across the street, and pickleball also for $5 down the street. My husband and I really enjoyed this house and slept great each night. We were up and out early most days and the location made this house perfect for us. You will not be disappointed. Also, super nice host with great recommendations.

We loved having your home as our base for our vacation to South Dakota! It was conveniently located close to our day trip destinations, fantastic restaurants, a grocery store and coffee houses! We had everything we needed! And, it was wonderful to be able to park our car in the garage during the evening storms! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

We used Rapid City as our base for all the black hills attractions. The house was a perfect location for this. We walked/ran in the park, went to the pool, used the nearby bike path and visited Dinosaur Park, which we could see from the porch. Great, quick communication with owner. Nice amenities at the house.

This house was the perfect landing spot for our family of 4. Checking in was simple, the house was very clean, and it was well stocked with anything we needed. The location was excellent for seeing all of the things South Dakota had to offer. It’s located in a busy area with quick access to store and restaurants, but quiet at night. Thanks for an wonderful stay!

Beautiful older home centrally located in Rapid City. Conveniently located near Rapid Creek, which is perfect since we were there to fly fish!

This house was in a great location from which to visit the Badlands National Park, Custer State Park and Sylvan Lake, the Needles highway…and to relax when you get back. The front porch is a great place to unwind and relax. The house has all the amenities you would anticipate and getting in and checking out we’re a breeze. There was an incident when the smoke alarm went off for a second then stopped. The host reached out to make sure we weren’t inconvenienced and to explain the problem and let us know it was fixed. There’s a lovely park across the street and two supermarkets up the street, each with. Starbucks.
Bottom line…great host, great house, great location.

The house is cozy and has everything one needs. Parking in the garage is very convenient, neighbourhood quiet. One can go for nice walks in the park.

The porch was a great spot because we all enjoy being outside as much as possible. From morning coffee to evening wine, it was perfect.

Easy access to all the sights and there is a large city park across the street if some of your party wants to hike/walk/play while others relax in the house. Grocery stores and bar/restaurants are w/in short drive or even walking distance. Julie was a perfect hostess and thought of everything - coffee, nice appliances & kitchenware, comfy beds, roomy bathroom/shower/laundry room, as well as few cooking supplies (S&P, flower, spices, oil, ziploc bags, foil etc.). Loved the unique, efficient heating and cooling system. There are downstairs tenants who access their apt from the garage so there are some comings & goings, but they are quiet and friendly. This place was perfect for a girls trip (3-4 will fit comfortably) or could be good for a small family. Wish the weather was warmer so we could enjoy the front porch!

We stayed for 3 nights in September and were very happy with the house and surrounding area.
The house itself, which is the first floor of the property, is cozy and well appointed. It is very useful to be able to use a garage. We did manage to sit on the front verandah the first evening, which was very pleasant. After that it was a little cool.
The basement seemed to be occupied by a tenant who we did not see so it was of little matter to us.
If I had to find a negative issue, it would be the very limited number of tv channels.
We would definitely visit again if in the area.

We took a family vacation to visit various tourist spots in the region. We decided that staying in Rapid City would be best for us. When we found this house on VRBO we were thrilled to find what would work for us at such an affordable price. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, the location, and everything the house had to offer. We really enjoyed the proximity to the park, taking several walks. We highly recommend this house for a great place to stay.

My sister and I were looking for a place to take my mom for her 80th birthday to see Mt. Rushmore and the other local sites. This place was perfect for the 3 of us. Very nicely decorated, very clean and it had everything for us. Unlike other VRBOs we've stayed, it had all the linens, towels, various kitchen needs and many other things you might not bring with you. The owner was very helpful with suggestions for sites to see and very easy to communicated with for anything we might need. Definitely would recommend this place if you're coming to the Rapid City, SD area.

Great little house close to the Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore. There are plenty of markets and restaurants nearby. House is clean and stocked with dishes and utensils. Had access to one-car garage. Having a washer-dryer in unit was great also. Julie was great to work with. Will definitely be back again when visiting Rapid City.

We could not have asked for a better place to stay on our trip to South Dakota! The house was perfect for myself, boyfriend, and his Mom. We got to give her the trip of a lifetime. Thanks so much for everything! I loved the house all the way down to the cool Pilsner glasses we used at night when we had local beers on the front porch. Will book this property again in the future!

First time in Rapid City and we hit the jackpot on VRBO. Our house was across the street from a vast park and athletic complex. The kids loved the community pool and there were plenty of other sport activities. It was surprisingly quiet and ample parking so no major traffic issues. Half a mile down the road were 2 large grocery stores, and 1 block to the north was Main Street which lead us to downtown a mile away with cafes, summer musicians, and 1 mile further was the SD School of Mines (University) where we spent 2 hours in the Geology Museum. Our house was well appointed with cookware, dishes, large shower, King bed , and safe off-street parking space. There were so many things to do in Rapid City and the Black Hills that we didn't spend much time at the house. If we come back for another SD visit, This would be the first place I'd check for accommodation.

Family Vacation
This was an amazing property to rent! From the moment that I was interested in booking; Julie’s communication with me was spectacular. She even thought of a thing or two that I had not. This was perfect for our family and all that we wanted to see and visit while in the Black Hills. Staying in Rapid City for a succession of nights and driving to our destinations, like east to the Badlands and I don’t know all the other directions we went 😆, made sense for our family. While we were out and about most of the day; I loved the front yard and wished we would have had more time to sit on the front porch with a beverage.
