The Head of the River is situated a 10 minute walk out of the city centre which is idea for sightseeing and eating and drinking. The room was well appointed and the full English breakfast was excellent.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The room was beautiful and spacious (comfort room). Beautiful pub/restaurant and great location.
Bed was very comfortable too.
Full English wasn't great. American steaky bacon doesn't belong on an English breakfast & poached eggs were over done. But can't fault the hotel itself.

Breakfast was really good and beautiful view by the river.
The bathroom was spacious and nice.
Room very noisy! I could hear the loud music until late night. Also, air conditioning was not good enough to keep room fresh, I was melting during the night.
Bed was not comfortable.

Terrible customer service, rude and untrained staff Dirty room Overpriced. Dust everywhere
They insulted me for arriving 10 minutes earlier than check in time. Absolutely rude reception staff ..
Since there is a big pub downstairs, ir is noisy in the rooms. There is no isolation in windows.

Amazing little hotel, location perfect next to river and only a 3 minute walk into the centre. Food amazing and staff go over and beyond. It was our anniversary while we were there and made it extra special. Lovely place.

Great place to walk into Oxford. Close to the park an d ride and great location for dinner or beers by the river.
The room was ok just a bit worn out.

Central location (then again central Oxford isn't that big), nice restaurant, cozy and clean room, friendly staff. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Although the room made a comfortable and cozy impression, owing to the small room size, the bed wasn't very big (1.40m wide). If you travel alone, this should not be a problem. Although we generally had a pleasant stay and have no complaints, accommodation in Oxford generally seems to be expensive, so don't expect too much value for what you pay.

the facility is quite old and there was not enough ventilation in my room so that by the morning it got quite stuffy inside

Fantastic accommodation and location over looking the river. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. The room itself had gorgeous decor, fantastic amenities including a super comfy bed. The room was very cozy, intimate, warm and soundproof!
The food was amazing and the bar area was awesome.
Definitely worth the price and would highly recommend!
Thank you for a wonderful stay.
There is nothing to fault. Could not improve it - fantastic place!

excellent location. staff were lovely and food was excellent.
The room wasn’t as described. very small we were updated from small double to a double. I can’t imagine how small the small double was, my husband had to come out of the bathroom to dry his self. House keeping was VERY POOR ! No beds made and nothing done at all on second day , as we were told we had left the do not disturb sign out from 10 am to 5 pm strange ! as they actually showed us a photo of it on the door. why would you do that. ???? springs felt on mattress deffo needs replacing. very disappointed as it was a special occasion

Location good for town centre
Room ridiculously small, even as a so called comfort room this was not an acceptable sized room for a couple to comfortably sleep in, also it was far too hot and could not open the window, a floor fan was provided but again it was located at the top end of one side of the bed as would be a tripping hazard anywhere else so could not use it… only one bedside table as floor fan on other side of bed… not ok. Went down for breakfast at 9am, ordered English breakfast but food was dry and seemed like it had been standing too long before being served. Coffee pots not filled up so help yourself a tad pointless, seemed staff not interested in breakfast goers at this time even though there was another hour left for breakfast service. This was our fourth stay here , loved it before, not sure what has happened now but probably wouldn’t return in a hurry.

good location, close to anywhere, but not a quiet place as it is too close the main street and the river. Beside, there is a bar and restaurant beside the hotel. The breakfast is good with multi-options, the staff is super nice.
it is too close to the main street, busy road, quite a lot noise from the come and forth cars.

Great little pub on the edge of Oxford city centre. With a solid breakfast, a cute pub with a fire and within walking distance of the Park N Ride bus stop it made everything easy and comfortable.
With such a large bathroom it's a shame there was no bath.

Room was quite small and let outside noise in

Comfortable room, delicious breakfasts, helpful staff, great location by the river and conveniently located for the city.
7.0
Good location, pleasantly decorated room, nice shower, free toiletries, good breakfast.
our room was very small and cluttered, blinds didn’t keep out the light, bed was small and the mattress was lumpy so we didn’t sleep very well. Seemed a lot of money for what we received compared to other hotels we have stayed in for a similar price.
