Excellent Japanese style house. I would highly recommend this place for a vacation to enjoy the beautiful mountains, Gorge etc.
Everything was perfect

The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, the heater worked well and they let me check-in early which was very nice. I really liked the room. The location is also very close to Iwato Shrine, a small supermarket and the bus stop to go to Takachiho.
The only issue I had was that there was no sound insulation. Some guests were very inconsiderate (some using hair dryer at almost midnight, other starting laundry at 10pm, etc.) so I think it would be a good idea to implement an official quiet time and tell guests to not make noise after a certain time.

According to the price, it is excellent
It is very convenient, they provided as you needed when you travelling

it was simple and clean.
it was on a busy street and the noise was very loud. the entire property was not insulated and it was very cold. I did not like stepping out of my room where i had the heater on (and i needed to, to use the shower and bathroom). the location wasn't very convenient for visiting the gorge and there were no restaurants in the close vicinity.

It was a nice place to sleep after a visit to the Takachiho area. The staff were super kind and cute and answered all of our questions. The room was small but clean.
The place was so cold we had to use the air conditioning all night. It is not well insulated, so we feel the cold all night. That's the only bad point of this place.

Very neat quiet location near the Amano Shrine and local shopping district. The property was clean and tidy with most amenities available. No convenience stores near by so would highly commend getting what's needed from central Takachiho first before arriving. Detailed information regarding the bus to Iwato provided by host and takes about 10minutes from Takachiho bus center. Not super convenient for going back and forth from so would just recommend to those looking for a peaceful and relaxing place to stay and sleep for the night.

Place was really cosy and super clean. Had a really good night's sleep. You can see the starry skies at night as well! The place is also near a lesser known shrine that's amazing for a morning walk.
The place can be a little small for some but for a short stay it's fine.

The room was spacious and clean. I supposed because its low season that I was alone but it was amazing. The staff was friendly and responsive. My favorite thing was the outside bath. Very close to the bus stop and the Amanoiwato Shrine.
Everything closes so early. But thats not their fault.

I speak very little Japanese, however the girl at the front desk was helpful checking me in despite the language barrier. She even walked me across the street to the detached house I stayed in for the night.
The facilities of the house are all new and the bathroom is a good size too. The loft is accessed by a ladder, alternatively you can sleep on the pullout sofa. All instructions for the room are posted in English so you should have no trouble figuring anything out.
Had a great day exploring the area around Guest House Iwato. Nearby is the Amano-Iwato Shrine and cave. Make time to go see the cave! Seriously, it is definitely a must-see and you will not want to miss it.
Towels must be rented at the front desk for an additional fee. No bidet (wash-let) toilet.
Very few restaurants in the immediate area (check out Amaterasu if it’s open). Local supermarket closes at 6PM. After that, good luck finding food.
This property is not within walking distance from central Takachiho (Takachiho shrine, gorge, etc.) - you must take a taxi or the Fureai Local bus which is around 15 minutes from the Takachiho bus center and runs somewhat hourly (¥200 one way). Last bus 7:20PM. Don’t miss the last bus, you cannot walk back and will have to figure out other means.

Comfortable stay, very clean, great views, free use of washing machine.
No cooking facilities and everything in town was shut quite early.

It's small but I like tiny, consolidated spaces so it was perfect for me :) Very clean, quiet and peaceful. Beautiful location as well. I will definitely be returning.

We booked the family room, which was a small separate home from the main guesthouse. The loft unit was very clean, secure, and had everything we needed. Strong WiFi. Free parking. Private bathroom in this unit. Everything is small, but all necessities are there. Employees are kind! Great cost performance!
Laundry is separated from the loft studio, but this is no problem for guests in the main guesthouse. No bidet toilet in the loft.

The service is excellent, the room is very spacious and everything is very clean. The view from the room is beautiful! The bus stop is almost in front of the hostel.
