About this condo rental
Located in Carlsbad, this attractive condo for $507 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Thank you for considering our Villas at Omni’s La Costa Resort and Spa (“Resort”) for your travel to sunny San Diego. This is a unique vacation unit in that our Villa is located on the grounds of the Resort. With your stay you have FULL ACCESS to all amenities at the Resort. There are other condos in the area that advertise being “within the gates of the Resort” but are not actually on the grounds of the Resort and do not have the FULL ACCESS described herein. The question to ask others is, “do you check-in at the Resort’s front desk.” If the answer is no, they are not part of the Resort and you do not have access to the many amenities of the Resort including all pools, gym, Kidtopia©, room service, charging to room services, optional daily maid service from the Resort’s housekeeping team for $50 a day, the support of the Resort’s staff with any issues / concerns, and an overall very similar experience that you would have if booked through the Resort directly. The Resort has a condo hotel component to it. Some of its inventory are condo hotel units, which are the newest construction and largest units located at the Resort. If you book with us, you can elect to pay for daily maid service; as this is an optional service. When you book our Villa, you will check-in at the front desk of the Resort. You will also be sent a confirmation number of the Resort prior to your visit. You can then call the Resort to verify your name is on record for the dates you booked through us. This verification process adds an extra layer of protection for you for your upcoming stay compared to other vacation rentals on this site. When checking in, the Resort will collect a credit card for incidentals, however, outside the daily maid service that you could let them know at check-in if you would like, you will not have any additional charges other than what you pay here when booking. You will be able to charge room service to the room, order movies, and charge restaurant/bar bills to your room during your stay. Your credit card will be used to cover these charges when you check-out. If after reviewing the above and below you have any questions, please let us know. The Property is amazing, access to multiple pools and jacuzzi. The unit was a mix between Mediterranean and Mexico, it was absolutely perfect, big room, great balcony, close enough to the pool, yet not overlooking so you don't have to deal with the pool noise. The Balcony was perfect spot for a cocktail in the evening and coffee in the morning. We will be back again soon, next time for 3-4 nights.

Nice but a bit misleading
We stayed at this propery for Father's Day weekend with our family of 4 (2 kids under 12). The unit is EXACTLY as pictured in the photos. The problem is that the hotel and the owner are clearly not on the same page.
To start, check in says 3pm on the listing. We arrived at 3:17pm and we were told by the hotel front desk, "Our check in times are 4pm. The unit is not ready." I explained to the front desk that I reserved this privately owned unit through VRBO and showed her the listing. She quickly said, "The owner should change it to say 4pm or later. That is misleading." So I immediately messaged the owner. He replied right away, and said, "Okay I will call teh front desk and ask when it will be ready." The front desk was there to tell me face to face, "4pm or later." I told the owner he should change the listing. Sure enough, the unit was not ready until 10 after 4.
Once we arrived in the unit, our keys did not work. We had to walk all the way back to the lobby to request new keys. It was 4:45pm before we were inside the unit. The unit was clean and exactly as pictured. It's definitely on the outer edge of the Omni La Costa, so it would not be ideal walking with little kids.
There was NO housekeeping for us the entire stay-- no fresh towels, no sheets/bed service, no ice, no room service. We called to request all of these things, and we were told time and time again, "This unit does not receive these services." So yes, while you might be saving a little money by renting this privately owned unit, you will NOT be getting the full experience of the hotel amentiies (which in my opinion, is getting at least fresh towels every day and getting your room cleaned.) We even asked for ice (there is no ice machine anywhere near by), and they simply declined. I wish I had known we would be forsaking those kinds of simple niceties--or else I would have rather booked through the hotel.
When I wrote to the owner to express my disappointment, his exact response was, "Hello, please read what you booked. Our condo is not part of the hotel. I am sorry you feel that way, but it is clear in our description that our condo is not part of the hotel. There is nothing in there that says that you have room service."
Hmmm... I wasn't asking for room service. We were asking for ice and water.
That being said, we did have access to the pools on property without issue. No gym access though.
Overall, would not rent again.

Perfect stay in Carlsbad
Check in was smooth at the hotel. Room wasn’t ready until 3pm as promised but they gave us access to the pool. Room was super clean. Parking was close and easily accessible. We were able to access the main pool area as they were not checking key cards.

Nothing which bothered us much since the other sink faucets worked and we didn’t need to use the cupboard space. The bed was super comfortable, everything was very clean, and the location was great too. Hope to be back soon, thanks again!

Loved our time here, it is such a beautiful & peaceful resort! The price was excellent for the very nice Spanish style studio room which fits 2-3 people perfectly!

The room was very well maintained and clean. The air conditioning, black-out shades, and beautiful view out the balcony were great! Beautiful Resort, Relaxing Getaway!
Loved our time here, it is such a beautiful & peaceful resort! The price was excellent for the very nice Spanish style studio room which fits 2-3 people perfectly!

Omni La Costa is a nice resort, but with very limited dining. We rented an investor owned condo, managed by Omni. Beware, the investors are suing Omni and both parties refused to provide basic services like repairs to the appliances. We had trouble getting maid service, working internet codes or help with a water leak. Omni appeared to give the bare minimum effort at check in, giving us a map with the building and no further direction on where to park or which elevator of 3 to use. The building is huge and it was typical of the lack of attention guests in the condos received. The unit is tired, finish is worn off the furniture, carpet is filthy. VRBO and I were unable to get response about the leak from the owner for 12 hours. The hotel said it wasn't their problem. The owner did not give their direct line, so we only made contact when the owner decided to call us back. We did get a $200 credit, but we had to deal with no service and water leak for 2 days.
Unit was spacious, well located. It could have been a nice stay if the parties who rent and operate the facility got their act together.

This is great property. You get all the benefits of a resort hotel but also a washer dryer, dishwasher, fridge, flat screen, patio, rainfall shower, dishes, knives, microwave - make it feel like a home away from home.

First the less great: The coffee table and shelves were dusty, the cabinet door under sink was hanging by only one hinge, and the pull-out bed was awful...you could put paper over mattress and use a crayon to shade the springs. She’s 7 and we had to close it up and have her sleep on couch. But the bathroom was great, the main bed
comfortable, and nice to have a balcony. Very quiet.

Beautiful La Costa
We had a wonderful stay at this villa in La Costa. We wish we had more time to relax. We used the villa pool which was so close to where we stayed. (If you want to use other pools, need to make reservations ahead of time) The grounds were beautiful. Flowers, plants, fountains, stairs....a lot of picture moments. Thank you for a beautiful stay!

SPIDERS/Construction
The room needs to be fumigated the first night I woke up with two spider bites.
I looked around and found four spiders in the room.
Balcony covered in nests and webs, I left the property that day, of course, I told the owner no refund.
Per hotel management, the owner is in litigation with the hotel so they removed the phones?
All in All nice room and location if not for spiders bring bug spray, and there is construction going on little noise.
