É um ótimo lugar para quem quer ficar sossegado. A Anfitriã é muito simpática e está sempre disposta a ajudar. O quarto é simples mas é bom. Tem uma boa cama. Tem água quente que é muito bom. O Café da manhã também é bom mas limitado.
Não tem nínguém para ajudar com as malas, não tem elevador e o quarto não tem ar condicionado. Nem todas as pessoas gostam de ventiladores.

Clean and comfortable room, location was good for access to beach with a pleasant 10 minute walk into the centre. Didn't get his name but the receptionist was very helpful and pleasant

I loved the short straight line walk to the beach, as well as being given a key for the main front door, which was kept locked at all times. As a solo female traveller, this gave me a lovely feeling of safety and security. Breakfast was excellent every morning.
There were two singular plugs provided in the entire room, with bedside lamps plugged in. One lamp was left plugged in, which only left a singular plug for my mobile and tablet, as well as the kettle and fan provided by the hotel. A kettle was provided, but no plug to use it. Reception told me to "take turns" using the plug.
The hot tub, which was a factor in booking the hotel [for my arthritis], was out of service for the entire duration of my stay, with neither advance apology nor notification provided.
The en suite had two hand towels but no bath towels.
Opening my curtains, my view was of a washing line with laundry drying.
I requested a blanket on my first night and was told there were no blankets. I asked a different member of staff the following day, and was given a blanket.
Reception was not always there, and guests were advised to use WhatsApp to contact him. This I initially believed to be due to reading English being easier than speaking it, but then I began receiving responses written in Portuguese.
My flight was departing in the middle of the night, so I would not be using my breakfast provision on my final morning. I asked for a friend to join me the penultimate morning, and was refused. The hotel would not allow me to use the breakfast I would not have [as I would be checking out pre-breakfast] on a friend. And I had paid for it.

Absolutely recommended. Outside the tourist areas this small hotel is in a safe part of tiny Santa Maria, close to the beach and also the city centre. We had the roof top room with a kitchenette (with everything.... even oven, dishwasher, freezer etc) and for our needs on this trip, it was the best hotel room I have ever had, it felt private with its own part of the terrace behind a little gate and had lots of Light and views in all four directions. Staff is wonderful and professional and cares for every guest taking an interest and trying to adapt to their specific needs. They arranged taxis (same price as if you book yourself) and we also had a good car rental experience through the hotel. Their recommendation with regards to local restaurants were perfect. Will return asap.
Internet does not always work very well in the roof top room, but it was not a problem for us. We also got help getting a local SIM card with data.

The staff ( Eugenio from the reception who is very kidsfriendly!) and Alba who prepared the breakfast ( omelette, fried eggs, toasted sandwich, cake and delicious cappuccino)were very friendly and helpful. Our room ( New York) was clean and quiet. The location of the hotel was close to the beach and restaurants.

Quiet location away from the main touristy areas. Couple of local bars and restaurants located just a few mins walking. location 10/15 min walking away from the busy streets. Staff was friendly and welcoming.
Big bed. WiFi was working perfectly. If you want budget accommodation with all the basics, you'll find it in blue eagle.
Dark room. Toiletries only provided once during my 8 night stay, so definitely not sufficient. it's a basic guesthouse so don't expect Towels( well, I was only given a bath robe) and bed linen to be changed every 2nd or 3rd day. I stayed 8 nights and they weren't changed once. Cleaning was not done daily either. Shower door came lose on my first use of the shower, Eugenio tried to fix it with no success and eventually he took it off for safety reasons
Plenty of rubbish in the surroundings. Quite dark at night but streets were lit up, maybe not enough but as a solo female traveler I felt more than safe. Lots of stray dogs. Something the island should do something about, not this guesthouse fault, but saying it just in case someone has any issues with dogs roaming around freely everywhere, and I mean everywhere.
Basic breakfast . Europeans like me are used to abundance, and that's not something you'll find here. You could have 2 croissants when three guests were staying so some days I didn't take one to leave it to the couple next door. Same with fruit, maybe just one orange or one banana. Homemade cake was baked one day and that was at the breakfast area for the next 3days. The positive side of it is there wasn't much food waste, which is good. We all should learn from it.

Clean and pretty well located slightly outside the center, everything is walking distance but you escape the center crowd.
Eugenio has been super helpful with literally everything we might have asked, Alba as well has been of very good help for recommendation in the area.

The host was very friendly
Breakfast was terribly portioned we were served one slice of bread with what seemed like half of an omelette all the time. When we asked for more bread /eggs we were told that they had 7, guests and 7 eggs so just one egg had to go to one guest. No water provided as well after the
first day. The cereal was also small and portioned per guest at the start of the meal. We had no other
options than toast and eggs or cornflakes for breakfast for the entirety of our stay. The front counter also had no one available and we had to keep calling to get things done. There was no air conditioning just a fan which had to be fixed on the first day. The internet was very terrible, we couldn’t even use basic apps on our phone. we booked this because it said check in as early as 10am but when we arrived we had to wait to check in and it was official check in time was 2pm. We only stayed because it was a non refundable booking. lovely host but the accommodation was not good. very hard for taxis to find the place too. 3/10.

We could say that this hotel has its charm only because the staff is exceeding the expectations. Eugeniu and Ivana did everything they could just to make us happy. They even agreed to move the breakfast for 1h earlier only because we have requested. Eugeniu organized and accompanied a day trip around the island without asking anything in exchange. The Room was clean, big, the breakfast was good. Ivana got friend very quickly with our little girl and she is now asking some times about "nonna from Cabo verde"
We could mention few:
- in the room we stayed the smell of drainage some times was unbearable (it seems the hotel staff and owner are aware about this and they are going to fix it)
- the distance from the beach (the main clean and beautiful beach) is about 15min walk. The beach which is 3-5 min walk from the hotel is not very nice and clean, so we preferred to walk to the beach near the pier
- some mosquito net would be very useful, as there is no AirCon so it's hot during the night. Opening the window will make you have lots of mosquitos and wont let you sleep
- the internet is really really slow. You cannot rely on the internet. Or sometimes it just doesn’t work…

The staff was friendly and helpful. Managed to get the taxi from the airport preorder to hotel. Despite our flight was 3 hours authentic stay the surrounding area is typical cabo verde suburban with lots of local peole and bar and shops. Beach the start of Santa Maria beach is few minutes walk away. Kite surfing place is also in the beach. Amazing seashell beach another 5min walk away.
Rooms are a little worn and outdated. But nothing in level of uncomfortable. You have to take the Cabo Verde for what it is. If you want absolute luxury stay in resorts but miss out on the local vibe.

Very kind and friendly Italian owner, guy from reception and beautiful Italian woman(hello Ivanna).Very taste breakfasts,clean rooms and nice conception with signs on the doors with different cities. The beach locate near the hotel,all way about 300m.Thank you,guys for you hospitality!

One week stay in Blue Eagle was really nice!
Rooms are big and clean. Staff clean the room everyday. There is a hair dryer, towels and soap.
Breakfast are really good: yogurts, fruit salad, coffee, tea, toast, omelette, jams etc.
But the biggest advantage of a hotel is staff.
People here are really nice, friendly and helpful.
They are always available in case of any problem. We felt there like at home.

For this price its the best hotel in town ! Its close to the main street of st maria, little less than 10 minute walking, very easy walk, very nice room ( we were 3) amazing breakfast made daily by the lovely staff. Staff were amazing and very friendly and they help us in everything we needed. They arrange good transfer to the airport for 15€ fair price ! Room was cleaned everyday and they even let us do late check out without paying more for it! They also have a restaurant near the hotel called "A Janela" which has very good prices if you staying in the hotel, its italian restaurant and very good home made cooking ! They have tours around the island with great prices.

Nice staff.
On the first day the internet did not work. On the second day we got only 2 accesses (although we had a 3 people room) and i had to insist to get a third access, which on the third day was not working anymore.
Television did not work either. Every 3-4 minutes the screen would go black for 1-2 minutes.
Room was supposed to be cleaned every day, but it was only cleaned every other day.
The light from the toilet was not working and instead of fixing it they just put a bed lamp on the bathroom counter occupying lots of space.
Accomodation far from the center, beach close by was not very good.
The rating of this room does not at all match the commodities, it's a fraud.

We spent one week in Blue Eagle. Contact with hotel was fast and simple, they helped us a lot with taxis, restaurans and trips. It was a very nice time, we felt very special and the personel- Evana and Eugenio did truly everything for us to feel good and comfortable. :) Breakfast was always on time, very good, with a coffee, smile and a little talk that always made our day. Room was cosy, beds were comfortable, there was fan so it was also very nice. Last day we used jaccuzzi on the roof which was a good experience too. I wish I could stay longer! Thank you!

Really loved my stay at the Blue Eagle ! Since the first day, Ivana has been really caring and helpful. Same for the entire staff.
The breakfast was supposed to be a buffet but it changed when I arrived so it was a dish prepared every morning by Ivana herself. Simple but full to start a good day.
At the hotel I had the possibility to rent a bike, which I did almost everyday to visit the Island and its beautiful people.
The room was cleaned every day and had all the bath supply. Really nice decoration and space. There was a jacuzzi but I couldn't test it as it was not turned on. The little negative point was that the television was not working and same for the wifi except when I was in the breakfast room or the reception. But who needs television in a beautiful island, great weather and nice people ?

Friendliest staff we've been hosted by, really going beyond our expectations and helping us with absolutely every single thing we needed. The place is pretty new, so everything is in good shape and sparkling clean. I actually regretted we didn't stay there for the last night but we had another committment.
The location might look a bit sketchy at night but after some time it started feeling safe.
