The hotel location is ideal for families or couples who are looking to escape the crowded tourist areas on the island. Only a 15-minute drive from Portoferraio and you will arrive in Magazzini located right on the beach front. The hotel has its own pool and beach with deck chairs and umbrellas included for all guests. All the staff at the hotel are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We asked the receptionist for a couple of recommendations about restaurants, and Vespa rentals and everything turned out to be excellent. They were incredibly fourth coming when it came to helping us with last-minute solutions that suited our travel agenda. The hotel's restaurant is fantastic too, and located right outside the hotel with a lovely ocean view. We ate dinner there one night and had breakfast both days and I could not recommend it more. If you fancy a typical Italian Breakfast with all kinds of fresh pastries, cold cuts, and fresh fruit – I highly recommend it. The hotel room with ocean view was also very nice, and very clean, with fresh towels provided every day, alongside the daily cleaning service. We had an amazing time and definitely plan to return soon.

All members of staff were lovely! The rooms were very clean and bed was very comfortable. We had a beautiful view from our room. Sara at reception was very kind and helpful!

Lovely view but building works were going on so a bit noisy. Restaurant food was excellent and staff very friendly. Good spot away from it all.I liked the pool but being April it was a bit chilly.
No fault of the hotel but building works spoilt the peace and quiet.

Mare is a cute little hotel in a quiet location, great if you are looking for some peace and tranquility. The staff was kind and attentive. The hotel's restaurant serves also non-hotel guests. The half-board dinner was good, a-la-carte even better.
The room was not big but sufficient. Only the bathroom lacked a shelf where we could put our stuff. Our sea-facing room had a large terrace with two upholstered deckchairs and a beautiful view. The wi-fi signal in the room was ok.
The small private beach is located some 300 m away from the hotel. It may not be the prettiest on the island but at least it was never full, unlike the other beaches we visited (in Sept.). Especially beautiful white beaches in Portoferraio were hopelessly crowded.
The water on the hotel's beach is very shallow, some 50 meters in the sea it is still no more than 1 -2 m deep. The bottom is full of seaweed so you do not know what you might step into. Sea shoes are recommended.
The seashore right in front of the reception and restaurant facilities is rather neglected, scattered with rotten seaweed and plastic debris. And it smells accordingly. The breakfast was rather poor considering the richness of Italian cuisine. A lot of prepacked processed foods, no veggies. This (I hope) could be attributed to COVID restrictions.
