Beautifully restored Cottage with a touch of old and modern, situated not far from the town and wineries

Very Large Bedroom, Cosy lounge and Spacious Bathroom Great log burner heating throughout the cottage. Open kitchen/dining with everything you need in utensils, cooked Breakfast supplies Lovely and quiet area.

Shower over a very deep bath with no shower curtain creates a very wet area after your shower, potentially a little dangerous if you are not careful. Maybe a shower rail hanging from the roof to place a circular shower curtain to keep outer area of bathroom floor dry. Do need more towel rails to dry towels and wall hooks in the bathroom as space to put things very limited.

Cooks cottage was more than we expected. John & Ann were wonderful hosts. We would highly recommend.

Restful stay at a wonderful property

Met at the property personally by the host with keys and a quick story of the property's history and facilities. A wonderful renovation of a lovely character dwelling. Very central to McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Peninsula attractions. House had everything you could possible require for a wonderful getaway including very comfortable bed, 2 cosy fireplaces, charming new bathroom and kitchen, and scrumptious breakfast produce provided. John the host is very welcoming and we will definitely be returning to this property again. Very highly rated

Wonderful !

Private, extremely comfortable, large well appointed cottage. Johnny and Annie are lovely hosts, very welcoming and friendly. The cottage has been beautifully restored, has a great bed and facilities, everything you need for a short or long stay. it’s in a beautiful setting and close to all amenities by car.

Johnny and Ann clearly want to make your stay as pleasant as possible!

House exceeded all expectations, Johnny was lovely (didn’t meet Ann), Aircon kept us cool in boiling temperatures. The house was spotless and exquisite. Would highly recommend

Stunning garden setting

Lovely cheese and wine provided on check-in. Beautiful garden!

Had to wash the glassware, cutlery and cooking utensils as they were not clean. Suggest providing a better sponge and more tea towels so allow guests to wash dishes more effectively.

Cooks Cottage is a beautifully restored historic home on the outskirts of McLaren Vale. The owners, Johnny and Ann, are delightful.

Beautiful Location, cosy fire and comfy chairs and bed.

Loved all, if I have to pick anything it would be the shower leaked a little and without a screen or curtain it was hard to keep the floor dry.

A very pleasant stay in the lovely McLaren Vale vineyard area.

Lovely old fully restored heritage building, loads of space, nice little kitchenette, plenty of breakfast supplies provided. Its rural setting was also very pleasant, yet only a few minutes drive to McLaren Vale for cafes, shopping etc.

The bathroom, while it retained an 'old world' feel, just having an old style clawfoot bath with a shower over it was a bit tricky, and water went everywhere! While there was a television in the small lounge area, where there was also a lovely log fire, it would have been nice to have a television in the expansive bedroom area.

historical charm and comfort

A unique experience - the property has been renovated beautifully and was very comfortable without losing its authenticity. The owners are delightful and provided plenty of information on the history of the property as well as the renovation which was very interesting.

Pleasurable experience.

The property is well located, cosy and comfortable. It is well appointed with an extremely comfortable bed.

The shower over the bath is an issue/ hazard as the floor gets extremely wet and the water just sits there.

Plenty of room. Nice fire.Bacon was beautiful. Good coffee pod machine.

Quality of crockery and cutlery. No small cups to fit coffee machine. Shower over bath caused water on floor. Long trek to toilet from bedroom.

Just fabulous

Lovingly restored historic cottage, with the biggest and most comfortable bed. Great kitchen facilities which were so well stocked with all the basics as well as mountains of food for breakfast. Great location.

The toilet runs on so we always had to tap the button again to stop it.

Beautifully appointed, historic cottage with all amenities provided. Ann & John were friendly and helpful hosts and everything about this cottage was perfect.

The property is a beautiful, old cottage, set amongst a lovely cottage garden. We loved the property, how close it was to all of the beautiful wineries in McLaren Vale, how the hosts left us a bottle of wine and the amazing combustion heater. We would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful, relaxing stay.

A quaint cottage beautifully and lovingly restored. Had every comfort we could have wanted. Loved everything about it. The bed was super comfy, the bath was huge which was so luxurious, and the cosy fire place was perfect.
