Rooms were clean , not many places to hang clothes , great location, gave us a great tip about parking for free at the back of the church, staff friendly.
We booked room only and were quoted £30 each for breakfast seemed excessive so we didn't bother. Also the hot tub was dirty. Bit of a weird setup with sauna / showers/ hot tub and gym as if someone was in the gym the floor as wet from people in and out of hottub.

The location was perfect. The staff very accommodating. When we had an issue with our room they didn’t hesitate to upgrade us .
Parking was a bit hard but we always found a spot.

It was a great location. Rooms were nice and clean.
Parking could be a little difficult during busy times.

Nice location, comfortable, plenty space for your things. I prefer shelves to hotel wardrobes. There is no proper wardrobe in a room but a shelve/open storage.
No fault of the property. However, as the tour buses can’t access the area it is ok for drop offs but the pick ups at n. 9 can be rather unpleasant in bad weather. I think it is a good system overall, however, the town should really think about installing some sheltering at these bus stops.

Really good location, staff super helpful and friendly!
Breakfast isn’t the greatest however there is a decent amount of choice, breakfast in Iceland in general isn’t that great.

Booking in a bit early was a pleasant surprise.
Bathroom was a little cool.

Great, centralized location in Reykjavik. We've stayed once before. This time we booked a large room on the top floor, like a small apartment, to stay for several days. Huge, comfortable room. Amazing bathroom with heated floors, large glass-enclosed shower, and a soaking tub. The bed and bedroom were comfortable and quiet. Great breakfast in the hotel, easy street parking that we were able to use and just leave the car for several days and manage the parking sessions through the local app. Love the city and would definitely stay at the hotel and in this room again.
No complains.

Convenient location, room of a good size.
Having stayed in many different hotels/ guesthouses during our 8-day trip to Iceland, I can say that Alda hotel had the worst mattress I've ever slept on (and not just in Iceland). There is no excuse for a four star hotel to have such a poor quality mattress with no independent springs and no foam or memory foam. I woke up with lower back pains, having had a very bad sleep. When I asked the staff to add a foam upper mattress, the hotel added 2 liquid protectors, saying that's all they can provide. We honestly would have left after the first night if we weren't traveling with a toddler. To the hotel: If you want to sell a service (such as accommodation) at a high price, you should also have the corresponding quality services. And a GOOD mattress is the most basic and important for a hotel, which Alda hotel lacks. The cliché phrase "This is Iceland" refers to the high cost of everything, it does not mean that the customer should accept paying for gold something that it not worth a penny. Of course, I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially those with back problems. Unless one wants to risk it...
Some other cons: The floor wasn't cleaned after the first night, the bath ventilation runs all night making noise, dark room (low lighting) with black and depressing walls, no slippers provided, no treat for welcoming.

Location. Large suite. Excellent breakfast.
The suite was located facing the street and it was noisy. The cost of the room was also expensive.

The Rooms with the balconies were great as you could get Fresh air, the other room which I was in originally the window wouldn't open. The staff helped when the room was quite noisy and they moved me. The Food from the cafe downstairs was good, you need to collect it or use delivery service as there is no room service. There is also no mini bar but there is a fridge with basics in foyer. Bed was very comfy. Location is excellent. Good to have a spa, although quite small area and basic outside.
Would have liked to have a mini bar with water provided in room. It was essentially a good 4 star but you pay bit more the location which is excellent, near bus stops for tours and right in the Main Street with lots of restaurants. The rooms at the back were nice and quiet.

Room was a little small and not enough tables to put things on no shelves in bathroom to put things on

Comfort, cleaniness and super friendly staff. Great location.
Small gym and courtins didn't fully block the sunlight (travelled during summer).

Very friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Nice sauna as well.
Comfortable bed and clean spaces.
Great location (in the middle of the main street at city center).
If you are travelling during summer, don't forget you eye masks. Even with the blackout, there is always parts of the courtins that allow the sunlight to enter the room.
Gym is small and the only 1 threadmill was out of service.

The Location of the Alda is excellent, many major sights are within walking distance from the hotel. Excellent for shopping, restaurants, but away from the noisy bars further up the street. Room was large for European standards, 2nd floor and facing the back side of the hotel, very quiet.

room too small for cost, not comfortable. Wireless out.

Excellent location! Can walk absolutely everywhere. Bus stop 9, where you catch the tour buses was just a short walk from the hotel. Loved that you can walk to restaurants, bars and very easily walk back to your hotel. Great, trendy hotel.
We went in summer when it's sunny all day and night. Black out curtains could be improved. Also you can hear some noise on the street, but it wasn't too bad for us. The location beat out the noise.

Nice restaurants nearby. Fresh and modern hotel.
The gym was too small with almost no weights. Relax/sauna wasn’t as cosy as we thought. Small and weird placement of the sauna.

great central location in downtown, friendly staff, wonderful restaurant on site, great bath products, espresso makers in rooms, very clean and spacious rooms.
breakfast was not included and a bit pricey for the selection. nothing was ever brought up to the room on request- we had to go fetch it at the front desk. no iron was in the room. the tour buses do not offer hotel pick up here, you need to go to a bus stop down the block and around the corner for pick up.
