About this condo rental

Nestled in Sanibel Island, this attractive condo for $431 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. ****Please be aware that our island is still going through recovery. All public beach accesses are open, there are approximately 30 restaurants now open, as well as a few shops including Jerry’s Grocery. The Causeway is currently under repair with 20 m.p.h. speed limit. Expect traffic delays coming on and off the island. Neighboring homes and condos are making repairs so expect noise, trucks & equipment at surrounding properties and throughout the island. Also, possible construction noise from interior work in adjoining or nearby units. The exterior of building 5 and the lanais will be PAINTED July 8-July 26 with temporary plastic to cover windows and lanais. Parking will be limited to spaces away from building. All elevators are working. The pool, tennis & pickleball courts are now open*** Loggerhead Cay is located on the East end of Sanibel Island, 5 minutes from the Causeway. Sanibel has 2 superior golf courses and a growing number of wonderful shops and restaurants on Periwinkle Way. It is a short drive to the Sanibel Athletic Center, library, Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, Sunday farmers market and many other amenities. Unit 583 is in building #5. This lovely, well-maintained, open concept, 3rd floor property, can be accessed by stairs or elevator. The unit is a short walk to the beautiful shell-strewn beach and the heated pool. Loggerhead Condominium complex has gas grills in several locations, (one of which is directly in front of building #5) as well as tennis, pickleball and shuffleboard courts. This comfortable, elegant condo has been completely updated from the studs out! New In 2024: New walls, baseboards and crown molding. New pillows and mattresses, new fridge and washer, new master bedroom TV, new dining room table set for 4, new lanai seating area and lanai dining area for 4. There are new mirrors and frames throughout, new shelving in master bedroom, guest bedroom, guest closet and laundry, new living room and master bedroom lamps. There is a new vacuum. New AC. And all the wicker furniture has been refurbished and reupholstered. As an added convenience, guests have access to 4 beach chairs, a beach umbrella, small cooler, grocery and freezer bags, 2 pickle ball and 2 tennis racquets and some beach toys, which are all in the guest closet beside the laundry. In the TV cabinet drawers there are cards and board games. There is a a small lending library in the dining room hutch along with placemats. The washer and dryer are conveniently located in the hall closet as you enter the condo. The fully equipped kitchen has also been refreshed with a cheerful new back splash. Finally, there are hurricane glass windows throughout and hurricane glass doors enclosing the lanai. Loggerhead Cay is a non-smoking property and complex. Sanibel Dwelling License # RDWL-0020-21545

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit is lovely . Nicely decorated . Updated sofas . Kitchen well stocked with all sorts of items . Close proximity to the beach . The only real issue with the condo would be the bathrooms . They need to be updated . Shower heads were moldy in both bathrooms, they had very little water pressure and we did have some clogging issues in both showers . Im assuming it’s due to all the sand .

Review of 4-Week Stay at Loggerhead Cay 583
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was disappointed that the apartment didn't seem to be maintained as well as it has been in the past, and I'm guessing that may be because the owners in Canada have not been able to get down to use it during the pandemic. The upholstery on both sofas was so dirty that I took time to sponge-clean it and remove some of the stains so I would feel comfortable sitting on it. It also looked as though the carpet needed a thorough cleaning. Although I don't like to use air conditioning, I was forced to turn that system on a few times during my stay to dehumidify the apartment when the moisture level got so high that the tile floors became wet and slippery. When on, the air conditioner was very noisy; I suspect it needs some maintenance. During my stay, I requested maintenance twice, once to repair the refrigerator, where pools of water were forming on the top shelf and a second time to install a pull chain on the fan in the smaller bedroom so that fan could be turned off. (The fan was on when I arrived, and it was only much later that I discovered there was no way to turn it off.) In both instances, the repairs were done quickly and well. The apartment had not been cleaned when I arrived at check-in time, but Sanibel Holiday apologized for the resulting inconvenience by giving me a $50 gift certificate to Jerry's, which was very nice and more than compensated for the hour lost in waiting for the cleaners to leave. The apartment is not in an ideal location within the Loggerhead complex because it is near the pool and an adjacent area where groups congregate in the evening. The noise coming from those areas can be extremely annoying at times. (There seems to be no effort by the condo association to regulate that noise until after 10 p.m.) Heretofore, it has always been the clean, well-appointed, and well-maintained quality of this apartment that has influenced my decision to return to it despite the noise. I hope to find those qualities restored when I return next year
