Very clean property. Its worth mentioning that the external entrance to the lower room is the ONLY entrance which wouldn't be ideal for kids depending on age. Never did find any trailer parking and ramp at Margaretteville was closed. Otherwise very nice place and owners were very responsive with communication!

We really enjoyed to stay. We have never been to a house on the side of a cliff before. Kudos to the architects. The house met or exceeded the expectations if only the ac worked a bit stronger, but in fairness, it was way above average temps while we were there.

Each of the 4 bedrooms had an ensuite bath, a huge plus. Really good parking for 3 or 4 cars, this is a real plus for Tan-Tar-A. Nice views from the deck. The place was not bad, but it has a lot of problems that need attention. -The washing machine sounded like a jet engine when on the spin cycle, obviously needs repair. We stopped using it after the first load. -The dishwasher was not installed correctly, it slid around when closing the door. -Ice machine did not work and there were 2 broken drawers in the refrigerator. -It was misleading that 3 bedrooms were upstairs since the bunk room is up an additional flight. The bunk room (bunk beds and 2 twins) for the kids is up extremely steep stairs, more like ladder. These would not be legal if building the house today. The railing up these extremely steep stairs is unsafe. There is 7 1/2 inches between balusters, a potential problem for kids. 4" is the legal maximum spacing. If a child falls through this, it is 12 feet to the floor below. Also, the bunk room was not enclosed but rather had a half wall and a curtain, that meant adults needed to be quiet in the main living room went kids went to bed. -The basement bedroom mattresses had large depressions in the middle. Main floor mattresses were really good. - The outside living area is in rough shape. -Screws were protruding from the deck. -The deck top railing is covered with mold. It looks like it had not been cleaned in years. -Several chairs on the deck have seats with holes in them. -The deck umbrella is broken and cannot be used. -The dock is basically nice but again, not kept up. There are a lot of cracked and chipped concrete tiles. Not unsafe but not what you would expect in a house at this price. -The side of the dock where a renter can park a boat had the wood replaced but the rubber bumper (the rubber that goes on top of the 2x6 to protect boats) was not installed. The vertical posts on this side had rubber boat bumpers attached to the posts that were old and falling apart. They were ugly and would not offer any protection for your boat. The opposite side of the dock had rubber bumpers on the 2x6 wood that were partially missing and nails that once held them were still protruding. These nails tore up my float when I dragged it onto the dock.
