This one bedroom suite with separate living room is located as part of a historic home built in 1901 in the town of Manteo with a little bit of everything for you to enjoy. This spacious property with its own porch and entrance. There is one queen size bed, a complete tile bathroom with a walk-in shower and a relaxing living room for watching a movie or catching up on emails. The coastal decor and tranquility of the garden will relax you the whole time you're here. The porch is located next to a spacious back yard with a folly for your morning coffee or afternoon cocktail. There are lots of locally owned restaurants in the area for your dining pleasure. The unit's kitchenette consists of a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Downtown Manteo is home to Outer Banks Distillery, Ortegas Southwest Grill, The Avenue Grill, Olives, Poor Richards, Old Town Creamery, Front Porch, Charis Coffee Shop and The Pioneer Theater with a nightly showing at 8pm. Nearby is the Elizabeth II at Festival Park, the NC Aquarium, Elizabethan Gardens and The Lost Colony outdoor drama. Manteo is a quaint little town along the sound. The Downtowner was in walking distance to shops. It was a great place for a quiet get away for two. The location was also easily assessable to the beach area and restaurants across the bridge!

Richard is an awesome host and was always in communication with us especially with Tropical Storm Idalia that went thru 48 hours before. You would never knew it came thru the Outer Banks. The place was very quite and wonderful for us. Walkable to the down area to eat and enjoy the local festivities. We will be back .

We loved our stay in Manteo and this guest house was clean, well-decorated, well-appointed, and perfect for our stay. The bed and furniture were very comfortable, and the garden is peaceful. We loved all of the shops and activities in and around Festival Park and the waterfront. The beaches are a quick drive across the bridge, as are many wonderful restaurants. We will return!

We have been vacationing at the Outer Banks for over 30 years. We have always stayed on or near the beach. We would always spend time in Manteo, so this time we decided to actually stay in Manteo. This 2-room unit was perfect for my wife and myself. It was very clean and well decorated. The garden area was beautiful. All communication with the owners was pleasant and helpful. We would definitely stay in this unit again!

I don't write reviews unless they either don't meet my expectations or they really exceed. Otherwise I feel they are just fluff. This one is a great place. The first thing my wife always does is check for cleanliness. She was VERY PLEASED with the unit. There is everything you would need for a stay and we stayed a week. We loved how quiet the neighborhood was. I was a little concerned with parking on the street, but after seeing we were next to a police station, I felt so much better. There were zero issues and I didn't have a single worry about it. The area is really great. Your first thought when staying in the Outer Banks is to be on the water or Nags Head. I can say that the drive over to the beaches and other activities is not inconvenient at all. It is totally worth the ride.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this special place in downtown Manteo. The space with nicely decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable. We loved the location and the proximity to all points of the outer banks. There was plenty of room in the living area and the gardens are gorgeous and well-kept. It is a real gem and look forward to a return trip!

This was like a little apartment. It was perfect for the 3 days we stayed. Walking distance to the waterfront and shops and restaurants. The rental had great sized rooms and very pleasantly furnished. There was a microwave, refrigerator with a little freezer, and a coffee maker. You aren’t going to cook a meal here, but perfect for breakfast or heating up leftovers. Dishes and utensils readily available. The area was very quiet during our stay-in a residential area. Loved it and would stay again.

The house was perfect for our weekend getaway. It is decorated with great taste and just cozy in general. You have a view of the house’s pretty garden and is located at walking distance of the Rum distillery and other attractions in Manteo. Communication with Patrick was great and instructions were very clear. Would definitely come back.

We stayed here for a long weekend. The Downtowner was perfect. Everything was clean, just as pictured, and the gardens were even more beautiful in person. We could have stayed on the porch all day! The property is within walking distance to everything in Downtown Manteo. The owner was very responsive prior to check-in, and we had no issues during our stay. The location was quiet and private. We are already planning a return trip!

This cottage could not be better located and the owner is perfectly prepared for guests and their anticipated needs. The owner has prepared concise, clear and thorough instructions to make your stay easy and worry free for you and him as well. The accommodations are excellent, we designed and maintained. The bed and bedding extremely comfortable. I have stayed in dozens of short term rentals in 10 different countries. This experience is the ideal experience.

This is my second time staying at this cottage. It is decorated nicely and located in the heart of the cute town of Manteo! Just an FYI to anyone planning to visit this area, almost everything closes by 9:00 PM, even on weekends. We typically spend the days exploring and end up eating a late dinner, so we were scrambling last minute to find somewhere to eat on Friday night. We ended up driving 30+ minutes away for an open restaurant.

The quality of the furnishings was excellent, and the garden grounds were spectacular. We thought that we had booked the downstairs unit but had mistakenly booked another. The property manager was very accommodating in switching us to the other unit.

This was the loveliest little cottage! Very inviting decor, with a nod to nautical, but not in an obvious, tacky way. Well-appointed and super - clean bathroom and bedroom, with all the essentials on hand. The Folly in the gorgeous garden was a pleasant addition, where we spent time reading and just watching the birds. The area is walking distance to the village area, where there are nice restaurants and shops, yet it is incredibly quiet and peaceful. Honestly, we can't say enough about the special nature of this little gem. Our host was most accessible helpful with the only issue we had, which was totally due to my forgetfulness before we left home, and he touched back with us to make sure all was well. Amazing customer service. Will go again!
