The walk to the beach is longer than anticipated. Either rent a golf cart or bring a wagon for chairs, umbrellas etc. Surprised not to have a high chair or booster chair in a home that encouraged family gathering. You can tell the wear and tear at the end of the summer season by the condition of kitchen cabinet contents and minimal cleaning of floors, stairs, outside areas.

The house was lovely. It had great views of the ocean. It was spacious and comfortable. I did have some trouble with communication with Better beach rentals. Their phones were down for a while before we wen. when I was trying to contact them, someone was out of the office and did not answer my emails. I did not understand if our check-in was keyless or if we had to stop by the office until the day before we left. We bought our own hot pads and towels for the kitchen as none were supplied. We had difficulty with the elevator. I tried to contact the rental agency while I was there and was hung up on by an automated system. When I did reach the agency, someone came out that day to work on the issues. There’s no direct boardwalk to the beach from the house. That was a little unclear to me from the listing. All of that being said, I would rent again from this agency and this house. It was lovely, and it is on the beach.

Most importantly, the house is in a great location. You have an uninterrupted view of the ocean, and that's what you're there for. It does not have its own walkway to the beach, but you only have to head to the end of the driveway, turn left and walk about 50 yards and you're there. The top level has a large kitchen for big gatherings. The dining table seats 10 and you can get another 6 around the island. Seven people can sit comfortably around the TV. There is a nice, table and chairs plus chaise lounges on the top deck. There is plenty of parking under the house. Five cars can fit there, plus a couple more in the driveway. The house was clean (except for a couple small piles that looked like they'd been swept up, but forgotten & never disposed of). What I have never experienced before in almost 20 VRBO experiences is we had to make our own beds (every single one of them). Housekeeping apparently doesn't keep two sets of sheets for their houses. When we were allowed to check in a little after 4pm, we found the sheets for every bed, shrink-wrapped and sitting on each bed. I thought that was odd and a little bit of an inconvenience climbing on top of bunkbeds at 10pm to stretch fitted sheets over mattresses. Your towels will also be shrink-wrapped and sitting on the bed. The quality of the towels was not what you would expect in a nice house like this. They were "Microtel" quality. For some reason the master bedroom didn't have a single towel bar or hook either. The check-in instructions said that the house may not be available until 4pm. We got a message that the house was clean and ready to enter about 3pm. Even though we got the key code earlier that day, they didn't make the code valid after housekeeping was finished. I texted back the number that had been communicating with me, but no one replied until over an hour later. I also tried to call the management company phone #, but got disconnected while on hold twice in a row. We ended up getting into the house a little after 4pm. The grill is charcoal and I had an adventure trying to get it going with all the wind coming off of the beach. I circled the garbage cans around the grill to form a block in the wind. I think a propane grill would be a nice addition if that's possible. My 84 year old mother appreciated the elevator.

Clean / beautiful house in a great spot - prepare to make every bed up yourself
