About this house rental
Cornerstone Beachside Cottage Our calendar is updated in real-time & our nightly rates are accurately displayed. Simply enter your desired dates and click 'Book Now!' Newly built in 2021 in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael, the Cornerstone Beachside Cottage is bursting with character. Located Gulf-side of Hwy. 98, this charmer boasts gorgeous ocean views on three sides and an unbeatable location just a few steps from the beach. Pictures and mementos of the original 1950s cottage that once stood on this spot and other Mexico Beach landmarks are displayed around the home, including the downstairs 1/2-bath vanity, made from a recovered piece of the pier. The blanket bench at the foot of the main suite’s bed was custom-made from a diving platform, pulled from the woods after the hurricane, and the donated headboard is from the original El Governor Motel. Finally, the half-wall at the top of the stairs was custom-made from a WWII Liberty Ship hatch cover, and the three stained-glass windows, imported from England, found new life at Cornerstone via Savannah, GA. Lucky guests of this kiwi-green cottage will find not only history, but also modernity inside this brand-new space. The well-equipped kitchen features lots of counter space, a coffee bar, eat-in island and stainless steel appliances. The adjacent living room offers a large sectional, perfect for an afternoon snooze. If you’ve brought any remote work, the coffee table pops up to a desk, and the home’s 5G internet makes connecting easy. All TVs are smart TVs, making connection to personal streaming accounts simple and fast. Both bedrooms feature direct access to the bathroom and gorgeous sunrise and sunset views – but also blackout shades for those mornings you want to sleep in. Outside, you’ll find several spaces for relaxing, including a porch off the living room, a screened porch - ideal for morning coffee and evening cocktails - and a second covered porch, accessible from the top of the stairs and the front bedroom, the perfect place to enjoy the Gulf breeze. Finally, the lower-level entertainment space offers access to the private outdoor shower and dressing room. Ample additional seating and beach chairs are provided and stored under the outdoor staircase for your use. For a taste of history complete with all the modern conveniences, you simply can’t beat a stay at Cornerstone Beachside Cottage! Cute property, close to the beach.

Lovely place. Decided to start a family tradition here! I’ll be returning soon. Me, husband, 11 yo, and 10 mo. Wouldn’t recommend as a couples thing given that the room is jack/jill but perfect small family. No tub for baby but kitchen sink was large enough! Love this place. Very clean! Great location! Wish the king was in the room with balcony but I understand the space would have been limited. Thanks for having us and sharing your home with others. =)

The house was exactly as described and we loved every minute there!

We really liked the beach house. It is a very short walk to the beach (50 yards?), quiet, convenient, and had everything we needed. Even though I was aware of the stairs, they did become kind of a bother after a while. The living room, kitchen, and half bath were on the 2nd floor and the two bedrooms and full bath were on the third floor. There is a freight elevator that would have been very helpful when unloading/loading the car, but was locked and unavailable. All in all, is recommend this project to anyone thinking of staying in Mexico Beach.

The house had everything we could need for our family of 4. It was really nice having the beach chairs. There was also a few beach toys and umbrella. The walk to the beach was so quick and easy. Location was amazing.

Loved the beach house. It’s a super easy walk to the beach to set up for the day. The area is very nice and safe. They are doing construction on the street but it didn’t bother us at all. It was nice to have the beach with just a few neighbors around!

We have decided that this is our new goto place in MB! The cottage is adorable and is the cleanest home we have ever rented! It's super convenient to the beach, restaurants, and bait store. We adore this cottage!

We have been traveling to Mexico Beach for the last eight years, and this rental is by far our favorite so far! 500 steps from the beach, but not located centrally to the city proper so the beach doesn’t get too crowded. It was a well appointed home and all the balconies make for great sunset watching. We will definitely be returning!

We loved Mexico Beach. The house and the space were perfect for me and my husband. It was clean, well equipped with everything we needed. We sat on the porches for coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. We loved being so close to the beach to be able to walk every morning, spend time there every day and walk down to watch the sunset. Thank your for a great stay, we will be back!

Nice condo. We’re just happy the other couple that was going to join us had to cancel. The condo has no closets or dressers so we had to use the 2nd bedroom/bed as a place to store our clothes. We were living out of suit cases stacked on the bed for 2 weeks. Renters should be advised of this. Other than that we had a great time but will not rent again due to the lack of closets and/or dressers or a place to keep clothes.

This home has lots of amenity’s not listed. Air bed. Air fryer. Lots of pots/pans. Plenty eating utensils. Plenty cooking utensils. DVD player. Gaming system. The home is beautiful and just a short walk to the beach. There is lots of stairs. Just so ya know! The home and the town is beautiful….now to the bad. The town is being rebuilt so there isn’t but 2 restaurants. We ended up going into port st Joe or back towards Panama to eat most nights. No grocery store close. NOW…..the construction of new homes because of the hurricane is HEFTY. The beeping trucks and hammering starts at 630 am! Walking through these construction workers to get to the beach was not fun. They Hollar. They cat call. They Hollar and scream at each other. I only walked to the beach alone once because of the workers…..not very welcoming. The city needs to be aware and do something to fix that issue! This town is tiny and is best for the families that just wana sit on the beach. My only complaint is the workers….

We loved the proximity to beautiful Mexico beach. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The reason for four stars was there was construction literally right next door. Starting at 6 am and smelling like diesel. The outside of the property was unusable due to saw dust and danger as we were the only ones without hard hats. It will be perfect when the work is done.

Very clean and Lovely place. Easy short walk to the beach. The management company very responsive and helpful. This place has everything you need for a beach stay. I would return for sure.
Be aware construction all day right outside your windows and lots of stairs if you have difficulty with stairs.

Me and my husband thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was very nice and clean and not a far walk to the beach at all. A very short drive to the marina for bait and to go out on the jet skis.

This place hit the spot for rest and relaxation. Close walking distance to the beach and the property is as pictured. Mexico Beach is a lovely quiet beach without all the noise of Panama City Beach. Enjoyed our stay!

My family rented the cottage for Labor Day weekend. Great location that was only 1/4 of a block from beach access. It is quiet. Well appointed and really well maintained. The front deck was small, but was great for evening drinks. Would definitely stay again!

We are a small family of three. This was our first stay at Mexico Beach. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. The owners of this property put a lot of love into the complete rebuild of this property after Hurricane Michael. We loved all the craftmanship and artwork that was selected for this property. Everything was so high end from floors to the ceilings. We moved right in and did not want to leave.
The beach gear was well equipped with plenty of chairs, types of tents/umbrellas and some beach toys. The outdoor shower was adequate and even had hot water! The kitchen was extremely well equipped as I cooked every single day while we were there. The refrigerator has an ice maker and a filtered water dispenser. The sectional couch fit all three of us with plenty of space for stretching out and relaxing. There are two outdoor spaces that were perfect for sitting a relaxing outside. Upstairs the bedrooms were nicely decorated and big with ceiling fans that actually pushed air. The king sized bedroom contained the stacked Washer and Dryer and each bedroom had a tv that we didn't use but it was nice to have just in case. The block out the sun curtains I learned were important unless you wanted to be up by 5 am every day as the sun rose. The Jack & Jill bathroom was beautifully designed. The only thing the house was missing was a closet or something to put your clothes in for the week.
The beach was a very short walk down the road and was never crowded. Their is a small store on the next block over that has a decent amount of grocery supplies should you need them and you can purchase fresh seafood next door to that at the Shell Shack.
I highly recommend staying here and I hope to come back again. It was a beautiful home and the couple who owns it should be proud of their accomplishment. Bravo!
