Clean, quiet, and friendly staff!

A well maintained older hotel that has retained its character with excellent staff. The perfect location with good food and shopping just around the corner. Quiet, comfortable and a warm welcome throughout our stay.

It seemed over rated. The old building charm is always a delight to us. But the carpet was old and not inviting. The bathroom was clean but do very small. The sheets had been laundered but were spotted. 😕 We happened to hit a parking spot right in front but the back seemed a little hard to operate to and from. Packaged muffins for breakfast. All prices were up but it seemed overpriced to us. Wouldn’t stay again.

Convenient location downtown in an old-fashioned hotel with decades-old furnishings. The room itself was nice but no housekeeping during our stay and close to loud college party bars.

The hotel was awesome for it's age. We stayed in room 301 and it room was very comfortable along with the bed. The only negative was it seemedlike the shower leaked on the floor really bad and the mat got soaked.

Location downtown was really good.
Parking not so great but there was public parking within walking distance. No breakfast but great local cafe just up the street. No bar. Room arrangement not the best and could use a little updating. All in all ok.

Very nice place to stay when visiting Mississippi State.

Great location, interesting history and atmosphere, but does not have dedicated parking. The restaurant is permanently closed.

This is a beautiful, old hotel, and we were excited to stay there after watching the show where Gordon Ramsey redid the rooms and restaurant. But sadly, it seems to have gotten a little run down and definitely needs some work done. The restaurant had also closed, which was a disappointment. It is a very nice hotel, and is convenient to shopping and restaurants, but I'm not sure I'd stay there again unless some updating is done.

Bath tub had black spots and some of towels were torn!

Overall, the service, cleanliness, accommodations were fine, but the place just needs an update. The hotel has a 1989 vibe; but again, the bed was comfortable & the central location was very convenient & the room rate very fair.

Really enjoyed our stay. Very nice staff and enjoyed speaking with the owner. Would definitely stay there again!

The hotel has fallen into some disrepair. It is extremely dated and in a serious need of a refresh.

Lovely old hotel. Well placed to downtown

easy check in and morning coffee at breakfast bar was good.

It was an old hotel so it had its kinks. It’s clean, it’s just old. I was in a cabana room and I don’t suggest staying there. The owner was so nice. I’d stay here again but not my first choice.

this historic hotel is great for a quiet stay, so keep that in mind. rooms were very clean. queen bed no so comfortable. air conditioning units, very noisy. Amenities mention a "bar" but it is no longer there. Staff was great but we arrived about 2 pm and waited for someone to come to the front desk for about 5 mins. Not a bad place to stay unless you're picky. Breakfast was continental with bagged pastries, water, coffee. Not too many restaraunts nearby unless you walk about 1/2 mile. Hate to nag on this place but unless you are "needy" find another place to stay.

We found this property to be quaint and charming. Great downtown location with many restaurant options close by (there is not a restaurant in the hotel anymore). Room was a bit small but expected for a historic property. Staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Nice coffee selection available 24/7 in the lobby and the grab & go breakfast & snack was great!

An older property, but obviously recently painted and refreshed. Everything was sparkling clean, and the beds were so comfortable! We enjoyed being right in the heart of Starkville, with several restaurants within walking distance. The hotel was so quiet, too. A great travel experience.

The historic building attracted me when I first saw the picture. However, I expected a letdown. But no let down! I will stay here again if I ever need to come back to Starkville. I highly recommend it.

The location was easy to find. The room was quaint and had a 'grandmas house' feel to it. I enjoyed the stay and will be staying here again.

100 year old decor hotel, but amazingly clean and definitely a very cool experience to stay in something like this. I would definitely recommend staying in it again.

It is an old property, but very quaint. It’s in a great location. Rooms are comfy and clean. Felt very very safe.

I was disappointed in my room, I expected something nicer, but it was like a Motel 6. I had a cabanna room and didn't like the French Doors.
2.0
The bathroom was filthy, there was pink and black mold and mildew w on the shower tiles. The bathroom was so small that you had to squeeze into space between the toilet and tub/shower to close the door. I was in an unrenovated unit that didn’t look like it had been touched since the 70s. It was incredibly worn down.

Little piece of history. Feels similar to staying at my grandmas house. They no longer have a patio so was a little disappointed. Super friendly staff and as clean as you can get for ancient bathroom tile and sink. No real uprgrades in a long time.Overall a good stay right downtown.

The stay, overall, was great for the night! My only complaints are that the bathrooms are cramped for plus-size people like myself, and the parking is unclear unless you park on the street (if there's a space), otherwise, you have to drive around the block into a sketchy-looking driveway to reach a public parking lot. The walk from the lot to the hotel made me uneasy at night and there was limited lighting. The exterior walls didn't block out much street noise.
The staff was very friendly and provided a bagged breakfast. I would stay here again if need be.

I absolutely love this property. I will definitely stay again. My only complaint is that there was not a clothes iron in the room. I did not ask for one, so i do not know if there would have been one available.

The property has gone down a little in the last few years. No restaurant, beer garden closed and maintenance is sparse. It is a great location and the staff is excellent. All in all not a bad experience and a good price.

Always a great time a Hotel Chessor. It is so convenient to eating, shopping and the campus. Can't beat the homey feeling.
