Rooftop bar/ restaurant was exceptional. Room was very clean and well appointed. Reception was hard to find, virtually no closet. A few hangers over the mini bar. But great location and restful. Very nice

The staff and managers are super friendly and made our stay feel like home. They really know how to go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable.

Nice place. Very, very small room and the food was ok.
A bit overpriced for what we got.

A lovely boutique hotel provided beach bag towels daily coffee service. Very quaint walking distance to to Malibu pier and beach. Amazing roof top views with excellent cocktails and dining. Service could be better on the roof top but overall a beautiful property will definitely visit again.

We paid $1250/night for 100 square feet. Room was 20 feet from the PCH and very noisy. Views were poor. Coffee service was one lukewarm cup of java. We will not stay here again.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Beautiful room— although a bit small.
Great location and rooftop. Love the coffee in the morning- lovely touch!!

Easy access to parking, beach, and all pier adjacent activities. We were there for Coldplay, had enough time to enjoy rooftop bar, surf, good eats and amazing views! 10/10 recommendation!
Cheers.

Easy to get to the pier and beach. Parking cost $25.00 :( but there was plenty of it. The roof bar was nice and relaxing.

We LOVED our stay at the Surfrider! What a cool property-
The staff was so friendly and attentive and provided a super relaxed experience.
The room is small but has everything you need- and all done SO WELL and thoughtful- from the great smelling products to the comfy bed and soft linens. The rooftop rest/bar was amazing-- food delicious and drinks too. Just a great stay-

Surfrider service is top tier! The staff are well trained, friendly, and super welcoming. The rooftop terrace/bar/restaurant has excellent food, a fantastic 360 degree view, and a relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be back for a getaway in the future!

The room is very small with little to no amenities. The room did not have a view, very poor internet connection and cell phone service. The room was very dungeon like and not what I expected.
There was no closet just a simple area over the refrigerator with small spot to hang clothes.

The staff was wonderful- so nice and helpful. Hotel was clean and the fragrances in the rooms are incredible.

This quaint boutique hotel offers a convienent cute place to stay. The rooftop bar /restaurant is an enjoyable haven (service is slow so don't expect a quick turn around).

Kate at the front desk was great! I arrived a bit early and she escorted me to the rooftop for a nice drink. Kates replacement at the front desk was also great, as I had left a wedding envelope with a cash gift in my Alto lift to Dukes. She contacted the Alto driver and when I returned from the wedding later that evening, there was my wedding gift in my room. If I could give both of them 10 stars I surely would have!!

This hotel is RIGHT off the Pacific Coast Highway. You can walk to everything from McDonalds to Nobu which is great. It is an older building that has been nicely renovated, but you can hear people above you an the traffic from the street- they do give you a noise maker to assist. For us, that was sufficient. The only annoying part for us was they didn't have a kitchen, and we read it was a full service hotel. It would have been nice for a little heads up considering we like to stay at places with restaurants. They do have a bar and toast ( $9 for toast and they were out of the jam that came with it) so just plan on how important that is to you.

Awful customer service, felt like a motel no service at all 0 stars.

food was the best part as well as the restaurant staff. the room was tiny and the bathroom was worse. very expensive for what you got. Not with the price.

Great gem in Malibu, walking to the peer and very close to the country mart.

Every part from start to end was amazing and i can't wait to go back!

Room was neat and clean but otherwise unremarkable. View from the roof top deck is spectacular! Worth the $ if you take advantage of the upper deck.

Very clean old school beach house vibe. Recently updated and is fresh and friendly. Staff are great and the top floor deck has great views of the ocean and good food and nice beverage options.
Rooms are queen beds and a bit small but we knew that and chose to still try it. So not a knock on them just how it is built.
Only negative really is that it is right on HW 1 and that was much louder than we anticipated. We chose ocean front so knew we would be looking at ocean AND the HW. But that road is non stop and is about 50 MPH and it is loud.
On top deck not so noticeable as you are above it. But at room level, even 2nd floor, it is loud. The sliding doors to deck are heavy and do muffle it when closed. But that was a bit of a wear and tear on us.
We stayed 2 nights and loved the roof top and it is just a easy walk across the street to ocean and Malibu peer. So if you are out and about it is great for all of that (and the Market is a short walk as well with all kinds of shops and food).
Again, well kept, clean, great staff, and good location. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Very thing about it is warm, modern, beachy, and lovely—the rooms, the rooftop, and the people who work there.

cute spot. not inexpensive considering it's a refurbished (old) motel off US 1 but it works fine. rooms facing highway a bit noisy.

Absolutely loved everything about our stay. The property, room and rooftop were beautiful. The food and drinks were incredible as well as the staff being so friendly and welcoming. Could not recommend staying at the Surfrider more.

One of the most wonderful places I’ve ever stayed.

The location was perfect for Malibu. The room and property aesthetics made it simple and clean for a stay-cation. Appreciated the complimentary paddle board and beach chairs. Enjoyed the hotel room beach towel bag, Grown Alchemist toiletries and Parachute bathrobes. Rooftop restaurant bar was nice especially with blankets during sunset.
