Positives: bed and pillows were very comfortable. The elevators are fast. The pool and fitness center was way above average. Negatives: the toilet paper is way too cheap for a hotel at this price point. The tv uses old-fashioned cable when most hotels are now using smart tvs. The room coffee is horrible.

Amazing stay

My wife and I had our grandson with us and the room was very comfortable. Especially liked the beds. Hotel was very quiet and we were able to sleep in without being disturbed.
The downsides: Bathroom sink was clogged. That can happen and hotel fixed it quickly except that it was still slow. Better and we could use it but not good.
They were having problems with self parking and we ended up paying twice since our cards would not work. The hotel was good about fixing that on our bill but even though we were there three days the parking cards never worked. I was glad they happily refunded the overages but it still was a hassle.
Overall, good location, very clean and comfortable.

I really enjoyed my visit. My only issue was the A/C system in my room stayed on the warm side. The temperature in the hallway was cooler than my room. I would have someone check room 612 to see if the A/C is operating correctly. Thank you!

My stay was awesome and I would recommend it

hotel room was tired and not very clean many things were broken or not functional not at all a 4 star hotel

Lovely hotel. Rooms needed mire lighting/lamps. Dark bathroom hallway and no light near or on desk making it difficult to use that space or see directions to use in-room telephone.

This is a very nice hotel in a great location where there are so many walkable things to explore. Everyone at the hotel we encountered was very friendly and welcoming. It feels like the building is falling apart. Night one our next door neighbors were extra extremely loud from 3am to 6am. We could call the front desk since the phone in our room didn’t work. Right two we switched rooms and the AC was so loud that it sounded like a fire alarm. We ended up turning it off but it got hot. So two nights of not very good sleep. It’s a shame because the service was great!

No TV? We couldn’t watch TV. When calling the front desk, we were told that it would be up and running later in the evening as they were completing upgrades. Do this in the evening after check-in? Do this during the day! It never came back on. When we checked out the next morning it still wasn’t working. 😡

It was so great. All of the staff was incredibly friendly, even switched our room to have a view. My boyfriend and I decided we will be visiting often.

Our accommodations were fantastic and the staff was fantastic! Mark and Andrea treated us like gold, you don't often find customer service like that. We will most definitely return and look forward to that occasion!

The balcony suite i reserved was very clean, spacious, quiet and the view was very nice. Check in was a breeze. The staff was pleasant and professional. I needed bedding for the couch that later turned into a bed… housekeeping was quick to send up the bedding. Although I only stayed one night, it was a wonderful night.

We love Kansas City but this was our first time staying near Country Club Plaza. This hotel is PERFECT for location. All the shopping, entertainment and dining is extremely walkable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. However the portion of the hotel we stayed in seemed a little run down. At first glance it looked fine but once you looked closer you could see corners were cut and upkeep has been relaxed. Our room had a balcony with sliding doors which we loved leaving opening and enjoying the view. The room was a very decent size for a family of 4 and overall it was a good stay. I just hope they keep up on the maintenance and do good work.

The hotel is located in a great neighborhood and the property is beautiful.
However they are probably short in staff.
Front desk personnel is polite and amicable.
Housekeeping is an absolute disaster! We stayed for 3 nights and our room got cleaned only once. Beds were poorly made and they left a huge garbage bag in our room. I even took pictures.
I am not asking for chocolates in my pillow every night (which I actually should in a hotel like this) but at least a bed well made and a clean room and bathroom.

They need to update the locks on the doors, I have a 2 year old that can open it from the inside and squeeze himself out the door even if the anchor chain is applied. Also a lock in the bathroom is needed. Overall our stay is good

Upon arrival staff was polite but staff appearance was very unprofessional. One lady had a t shirt on and pants and the other lady had her cleavage out with a sequins corset on. Needless to say the hotel and staff looked nothing like the pictures online. After checking in and going to the elevator, I got a strong scent of weed. Went to my room floor and the right side hallway wall was caving in at the baseboard. Entering my room I saw hair pins on the floor, a wrapper in my trash, hair and dirt stains on the bed comforter. The wallpaper in the bathroom was curling up off the wall. The conjoining door knob was falling off the door so I was nervous about that. Overall it was not a place I felt safe or comfortable in. My husband and I left and did not stay here.

Great area love that it’s walking distance from the plaza

No soap on bathroom - called twice for some soap, did not get any ended up using shower wash. Then went to shower and realized I was out of shower wash during my shower, after I showered, water did not drain. Cherry on top - cold water knob was not working in sink - used warm water….. terrible experience for 200 $ a night

Purchased a room with a balcony view of the plaza but was placed into a room on the backside of the hotel without a view. I asked for a reimbursement for the price difference of the two rooms since I paid extra for the room with a view of the plaza but was denied because I had ordered the room through a third party site (hotels.com). The room itself was fine, just would have liked to have gotten what I had paid for.

For the price, wasn’t worth the stay. No feee breakfast, room next to the lobby, pay for parking, bathroom didn’t look like the picture.

Nice place, not worth the price. Lights didn’t work, leaking faucet, water damage, air wasn’t working (luckily it was cold outside). Overall poor quality for the $330 for 1 night. Will not go again.

Crown molding was falling off the walls/gaps in all the trim. Yellow/orange stains in the tub on the floors. Thought we were going to get a 5 star hotel for the amount of money we paid for parking and staying. Honestly would love to get a refund just don’t know how to do that since we did our reservation online

When we arrived we were told we didnt have a room. The front desk guy had an attitude from the moment i walked up. I eventually got a key to a room but when we opened the door it was tiny! The guy had downgraded the room from what we paid for. I called downstsirs and the guy said "you got a room didnt you?" The room was awful. I tried to explain we paid for an upgraded room but the guy got really nasty. I had hom on speakerphone and my husband was atunned at how he was speaking to me. My husband took the telephone and tried to resson with him but the guy said "youre acting like children!" And hung up. The rom was so hot we slept with the balcony door open in 30⁰⁰ temp. I spoke with manager who said wed be moved but nothing! Manager also offered a refund but when Hotels.com reached out he denied it! The room was so bad and i didnt want to run into front desk guy so i left a day early. Was the worst hotel stay weve ever had and absolut worst customer service we've ever experienced. Were told they do not have to honor Hotels.com "requests" i tjought we paid for the room and it was a sure thing. I guess not...

Restaurant was understaffed on New years eve morning. Breakfast took 2 hours for 2 people.

Stayed over Christmas and had lovely time..booked suite with adjoining room which was perfect to relax in shared living room space with friends. Rooms are bit dated as mentioned in other reviews but location was great, staff was excellent, parking was easy, balconies were nice, and lobby was beautifully decorated.

The property is in a good location but is showing its age. Could do with a cosmetic makeover.

Once a classic and best high end hotel in KC at one time isn't anymore. Expect to get what you pay for! Great location over looking Plaza lights

Staff was kind. Hotel was minimally impressive. Beds were cozy and plaza view was pretty.
However, we stayed 4 nights and no one came to clean our room. No one took our room service dishes. We had major trash build up. I know it was Christmas time and likely less staff but 4 days with no cleaning at $175 a night was very disappointing.

This is a beautiful hotel right on the plaza. We were there for Christmas night and we enjoyed a delicious dinner and drinks in the restaurant and then enjoyed time by the fireplace. Our room was as big and had a wonderful terrace with a view of the plaza.

Beautiful view of the Plaza lights but other than that the room was pretty ordinary. She’s showing her age in spots too. Two double beds were pretty tight as we have a king size at home.

This is our 12 th Christmas tradition visit/ stay at the Intercontinental Plaza. The hotel has sadly declined each year we go. It is no longer from the Covid effect either. I think the IGH brand truly doesn’t care about this property. The hotel is in need of a major refurbishing and it’s lost that magical holiday look. The lobby area has stains and dents all over , the bathroom are extremely rundown, towels thin and hard, very dusty room that hadn’t been refreshed in a very long time. the hotel staff at front desk no longer wear a uniform or jacket that always gave a very polished cohesive look. The rooms are just run down. The staff is very nice but not interesting in making you feel welcome. It’s more like a doctors front desk feel. We decided that we will try the Raphael for next years visit.

We felt very safe and seen in this property. It is way above our typical price range but it was so worth it
