Free breakfast in the morning was nice. There are two restaurants right next to the hotel on either side. Easy shuttle service to the Port of Galveston for an extra fee. Bathroom was clean. Very spacious room. Enjoyed the ceiling fan.

Our stay was wonderful! This was our first trip to Galveston. The Harbor House got us checked in early, had a shuttle for us for our cruise the next day. Overall a great experience and we will be back!

We love the Harbor House so we can see the ships come in to dock. The staff messed up communication about the parking but otherwise it was great!

Great place to stay for cruising. They charge you for parking for the cruise but its cheaper than port.

This hotel is all about location location location It was a one night pre cruise stay. The location and the free shuttle to the port was perfect. The rooms were large and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. I liked the high quality toiletries.
For the rate/price, I didn't like the use of plastic cups with the in-room coffee maker. I also didn't like that the continental breakfast was pretty meager and comparable to something you'd find at a Holiday Inn. And the room that it's in is tiny.
The woman that checked us in was fantastic--friendly and energetic and fun. She gave us a coupon for a free appetizer at Katie's Seafood restaurant when we told her we had reservations there. She is a keeper.

Stayed for one night before leaving for a cruise. The check-in process was quick and our room was very spacious and clean. I would stay here again.

Great stay! We went for Fat Tuesday, you can't beat the location, right on the water, close to The Strand and restaurants. Our room was very modern, comfortable and clean. Can't wait to go again.

I paid for a harbor view, my call to them assured me the notes would say to see the Cruise ships, i also wanted to be next to our party.
They called me the Thursday before check in, we spoke about this... the girl was sweet.
The day of i spoke with someone hat was ok at first, but she explained all the rooms were taken and we would get what we would get. I explained i spoke to someone that was so sweet and at that time our rooms were facing the ship and together... after that the conversation became harsh ( her tone)
When we went to check in... Their room was good, ours was not so great. First thing i see when we walk in is glob of hair on the floor...and our view was buildings. i called down and explained... i paid extra for the view... she seemed aggravated with me and wanted to put me on the opposite side, but then i would be across from our party. That defeated the purpose and extra spent.
So we ended up on another floor and not the best of views, but better then what she offered first. That room was cleaner tho.
I will think twice before booking again with them.

Dee was outstanding!

Great location within easy walking of the Strand area of Historic Downtown Galveston and also an easy walk (with luggage) to the cruise port terminal for Carnival (not easy walking to Royal Caribbean - that would require transport). Hotel does also offer a port shuttle option.
Continental breakfast included in cost.
Great view of the port area from Harbor view rooms.

My stay at the Harbor House started with a phone call from their front desk to confirm my stay and if I’d need parking for my cruise . I declined the parking but did inquire about signing up for the shuttle to take me over to the cruise port. Upon arrival I was greeted with the friendliest front desk staff. She checked us in and let us know breakfast is served in the morning at 7 and gave us our shuttle pass. We got a room on the 3rd floor with a beautiful view of the port where our ship came in the next morning.

We stayed here the night before our cruise and the staff was friendly and kind! The room was GORGEOUS and being able to park our car there while on the cruise was so helpful! They also had a shuttle service to the pier and it made our time so much better!

Very nice hotel closecto cruise dock. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Large showers.

Location was excellent for leaving on a cruise ship. Restaurants, shopping, things to do are all in walking distance. The only downside, the rooms could use some noise reduction you may hear sounds from other rooms.

The hotel is designed as a rustic seaside hotel with modern undertone. Environment is quiet

Everything was great! We got on the island early and even though there wasn't a room ready yet we were able to get our parking pass. They called us when the room was ready around 2 o'clock. Staff was friendly, great customer service and room was clean with a great view of the Harbor. Also the breakfast bar on our floor stayed open later than other hotels which was nice since it was New Year's Day and we wanted to sleep in a bit. The only negative was the shower head was super clogged from calcium buildup (just needs a lil CLR love) so I didn't shower till I got home which was only a couple of hours away.

Nice rooms. Only one block away from the strand.

Sadly the low stars are simply due to a malfunctioning shower. Rm 221 has plenty of HOT water in the sink but ZERO HOT water in the shower!!. We called the front desk and they would send maintenance however he/she never showed up before we had to check-out. We ran the shower for over 45 minutes waiting for HOT SHOWER water.
Other than experience, the place and the front desk staff "Beatrice" and "Dave" are super awesome and attentive.

Dee was very friendly and offered us recommendations for things to do in the area. Harbor House is very close to the cruise ships, so we actually walked to the terminal. Good location that is close to the main shopping and dining area. Would stay again!

It's really a nice hotel, only when you are at the wrong site of the hotel, you hear the generators next to your window. It kept us awake most part of the night.
The rooms are really spacious and nice. It's only the noise that gave the overall bad feeling.
Breakfast was very simple, no bread only cerials, fruit and the coffee was good. It is within walking distance to the cruise terminal. The offered free ride never showed up on time.

We first came here because of the location and parking option. We keep coming back because of the great staff, location, and parking.

It is always a joy and pleasure staying at Harbor House. Ms. Dee is fun, professional, phenomenal, and extremely helpful each and every time; she goes above and beyond to assure that our stays are always pleasant. She will keep you coming back because she so friendly. The young lady on night shift isn't as friendly or inviting, but she was okay. The only down side to our stay is the lack of television channels for the price paid; a little more could be added to the breakfast .Coffee and cookies or snacks should be provided 24/7 for the price also. Other than that Harbor House paired with Ms. Dee is a great stay. We will return.

I’ve stayed at this property multiple times. I love the location, with numerous restaurants and one block to the Strand, the general affordability (weekdays) and the size, cleanliness and decor of the rooms. Sometimes we even get a harbor view, including our upgrade this visit. Thank you!! The continental breakfast is slightly better than it used to be. The rooms are showing some aging, like rusting light fixtures, but it’s still in pretty good condition. I was told they are going to be remodeled in the not so distant future. They’ve added free bike rentals which I’m super excited about but didn’t use this visit. I’m always slightly annoyed at the $15 parking but I get over it. Check out is now 11 vs noon, although the room door still shows noon. I was given a 12 o'clock checkout. The best part of this particular visit were the front desk staff! A special shout out to Dee and I believe it was David who made the visit even more enjoyable!! They were both super friendly and very helpful! I’ll be back.

We were cruising on Carnival and the shuttle service was excellent. The return pickup was same place as dropped off to start the cruise with baggage handler right there to take to ship. Two expensive but top resurants were either sude of property. Lobby is very cramped but the rooms are nice. Supplied breakfast is a bit weak but adequate. Used Galveston Express to airport and they are awesome, right in parking lot of hotel.
