It was cold weather but this resort had all we needed. The waterpark was great for all ages and hot tubs had the perfect temperature. Definitely coming here again !

Check-in was great with Penny. Had a short conversation with Porcha, she had a bad attitude. Unit was spacious and nice, had several maintenance issues. All the staff was very friendly and helpful with the exception of a front desk person names Porcha. On the cleanliness scale, I give the unit a B. Floors, linens and towels were clean and fresh. Kitchen stove was a mess as well as 3 burners were non-functioning. I really didn't like that we could not access the pools or water park through the hotel/lobby. The elevators exit to the lower level work area and you basically roam thru this to get outside to access the pools and the beach. Including the indoor pools and waterpark. We had a problem with noisy neighbors next door. Called security.

This hotel has lots of kids. It has a strong smell of Marijuana throughout the building.
At 11:30 at night kids were knocking on our doors and running. The room we stayed in was not very updated.

Amazing get away with the kids. We stayed on the 14th floor in their penthouse suite. It included 2 private balconies, full kitchen, jacuzzi tubs and washer and dryer within the unit. The indoor water parks were perfect and they have daily activities to do with the kids.

The room was definitely showing it’s age and had a bad odor from the refrigerator. Visible mold on vents, light bulb’s missing, TV not working and stains on furniture. For the amount of money being charged the entire property needs to be maintained better. Pools were heated but the water was a little cloudy/dirty and hot tubs had lots of things floating in them.

Room was very clean, and from the looks of things, recently updated counters and furniture. The sliding door out to the balcony could use some lubricant or replacement as it was hard to open. Balcony had a fantastic view. It was loud outside though, with music from the bar, ice cream truck etc. but I will admit, I had a migraine and can get sensitive to noise. Only other thing is maybe better signage showing where the entrance to the parking garage is. It’s not well marked at all. Overall I would definitely stay again.

It was a great stay, only issue I really had was that the blankets on the beds were super lightweight.

Checked in and they gave me a key to an already booked room. To make up for there mistake they gave me a "free breakfast" which still ended up charging me $20 for the drink and gratuity

When we first arrived, our room smelled like cigarette smoke and the floor was not swept and overall just not clean. We called and asked for our room to be changed in which was no problem and they switched us two rooms down on the same floor.. super easy. The new room smelled and looked so much better and our stay was delightful to say the least!

We stopped in for a night so our granddaughter could use the two water parks. We had been in Charleston with family and the hotel only had an outdoor pool. She had a blast. Wish we could have planned better and taken another day.

While we were staying one of the pool areas were closed and all that was open was the lazy river and kid areas. Didn’t really get to enjoy the pools, etc outside due to the temperature so I was a little bummed about that and kind of killed the trip. Also the hallways are open so depending on the weather you could be Hot, Freezing, or wet.

We booked this trip for my toddlers birthday so he could swim. It was advertised that the property had 2 indoor waterparks. It wasn’t until AFTER I booked that I found out one of the waterparks was closed. The one that was open was in the next building over so we had to carry our baby and all of his stuff to a different building for him to swim and then walk back in the cold soaking wet. The “activity center” was a joke. I was just some drunk walking around with temp tattoos. The guy walked around with his drink and sunglasses on the whole time. Definitely not a kid friendly guy. Was not worth the money.

The property was OK really no complaints. I just believe the overall property is dated needs a renovation.

We had bugs in our room and the shower wouldn't work had to call for maintenance. We were moved to another room that room was dirty trash on the floor I'm guessing from the previous customers so that tells me that Housekeeping didn't do their job. When finally settled into the last room out door key didn't work. Overall this experience was the worst and I would couldn't come back!!!!

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Laporcha helped with our every need and had excellent recommendations. Rooms were very nice and the views were beautiful. Wish there were adult swim times. We'd love to visit again.

The room was clean and comfortable. Only noticed a few places on the floor that felt like they covered up holes and one of the bed mattresses was worn, it was sinking to the middle of the bed causing a back ache.

We live less than a hour away in NC. Booked a weekend getaway at last minute. My hubby and I, a 6 year old son and 3 year old daughter. I was skeptical and nervous. The dunes surpassed our expectations by far!!
First of all, we can all say this was the quietest property we have EVER stayed at. The night we checked in it was BUSY for a January evening. Come to find out there was a huge volleyball tournament going on close by. I was nervous the resort would be noisy at night and busy during the day but it was the opposite. We all slept soundly and the water park wasn’t crazy busy the next day.
All of the staff were amazing and accommodating except one barista (Saturday Jan 13) that had a very dry personality at the coffee shop.
Super clean, our oceanfront suite was amazing for my family of 4 with everything you would need.
We are already planning our next trip to the dunes!

Everything was perfect!

Overall, good stay. Suite was really spacious and had lots of immensities. Lots of beds, great view and convenient getting to and from room. Both water parks are our favorite hotel water parks in the whole beach and the main reason we went. Staff was great, especially the gentleman who checked us in. The only minor thing, is the parking garage being accross the street and having to go walk to get the car everytime we needed it.

The room was great for the amount of people we had on this trip. However we arrived on Monday 1/1/24 and left 1/3/24. So the only full day we had for the water park was 1/2/24 and most of it was closed down do to construction. We had no idea of this when we booked. I spoke some one at the front desk about it. She said it had been posted on their website. Well I booked through Hotels.com not the hotel directly. I felt the room was overpriced due to the loss of the water park.

We had a awesome time bringing in the New Year with our family. My kids really enjoyed the waterpark. We typically comr to the beach this time of year as our family tradition and this was our first stay at the Dunes and definitely will not be our last.

We throughly enjoyed our stay. The 3 bedroom condo had plenty of room for our family and the water park was a great time.

The microwave didn't work, the oven was nasty and set off the smoke alarms repeatedly, one person checking in 9 different groups it took almost 80 minutes for checkin. Water leak in bathroom late night distribance by maintenance was very rude. The property is aging and not being maintained.

I like that the hotel offers the heated indoor water park and many food options. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is friendly.

Dunes Village was a nice getaway spent with family. The indoor water parks are good, the water warm enough, it wasn’t too busy but sometimes it was hard to find a chair on the side so I could watch my kids. The only thing I would recommend is to keep the coffee shop open all day instead of just in the morning.

Felt i was targeted by staff for a smoking violation. I was on the ninth floor. I was cited for smoking at 8pm at night. Which was false. I saw several people on the first floor balcony in the daytime smoking and no one seemed to see them but i was cited on the 9th floor at night falsely i also had to check in twice. I was promised a room on the 14th floor ,when i arrived i was placed on the 9th floor. For someone that requested a hire floor. But my previous arrangement not honored after i checked and confirmed .y reservation twice. At 12 noon today i personally saw a resident smoking illegal drugs on a first floor room balcony. The smell was strong. So how is that not seen at 12 noon but i was cited at 8pm on the 9th floor at night. People are giving false info and statements to staff and people like me have to suffer. I feel i should be completely refunded my money for my inconvenience. The staff must have night vision and a hell of a ladder but first floor 12pm resident are not even noticeable. On Christmas day.

Good price, dirty common areas, worn furniture

The room had a smell. The waterslides and pools were freezing and dirty. We booked this for two nights and only lasted a couple hours before we left and asked for a refund. The negative reviews need to start outweighing the good ones.

Front Desk and Concierge was super friendly and helpful. The indoor pool amenities were great. The common spaces could use a coat of paint. The room met our needs but was worn: crack in fiberglass shower wall, slow draining tub, uneven floors. Overall great price point for what we needed during our stay.

Overall a great stay. Great customer service and the room was great. Will definitely come back to this resort.

The sofa was pretty uncomfortable and there were a few stains on the sheets but otherwise it was great! We enjoyed our stay.

I didn't stay. They said my reservation was for the day before so I got there and had no room. I ended up going somewhere else..the front desk ppl tried to help but we're not friendly and really didn't try to get my money back and they didn't give a dam about me not having nowhere to stay.i was so upset after waiting an hour and a half they wanted me to pay almost 200 for one nite after I already been charged for one nite that I didn't stay. I was so disappointed.the first time we stayed the front desk manager and greeters were awesome..they made me feel welcome and I had no problems. This visit was totally different. They pissed me off and made me feel some type of way for their mistake and did not even apologize.
