Food was like a 3 star hotel. Personal was really insisting on a breakfast meeting for a membership.

Unhappy smaller hotel ever I have been
Not kindly service
I see on my reservation that shuttle x airport was included but that doesn’t happen
Worst hotel of hard rock I have been
3.0
hotel was nice. not enough pool chairs so a constant 6am fight to reserve chairs. food was good especially the fiesta. they are always trying to up sale you. bartenders were great. they have a "
legendary" club they are trying to sell you and all of the good pool chairs are reserved for them so all the regular people have to fight for the scraps.

The room’s cleanliness was lacking dirtier for a Hard Rock hotel. Even handles, light switches were dirty. For the rate we paid I was expecting better. Food was good and I have to say I’ve been to the hard rock in Cancun and all their employees were super friends but Puerto Vallarta Hard Rock they were not friendly at all. No one approached you, they didn’t smile just looked away it was really odd.

I was the first time in the country and staying at a Hard Rock Hotel. I read many reviews before I made my choice and I was happy with my decision to stay here. Everything was great.

Great food, great service but a little bit dated

Had a great time

This place is dirty. Old. Outdated. You want a balcony? Make sure you don’t get a French one.

Was offered a late check out since our flight was not leaving until 5pm. The late check out was taken away in which we had to hurry and leave the room. Should have never offered the late check out if this was going to be the situation.

Amazing views out of our room. We had an ocean view and the sunsets are amazing to watch on the balcony. Staff tried to be as helpful as they could be (we did not receive the late check out like we had been made to believe would be no problem but I could tell the staff tried. All of our other requests were attentively implemented though). Food was decent at a la carte restaurants (if you are a foodie you may not be as thrilled but I was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews). I thought the hotel and grounds were well maintained (again after reading some of the reviews I had low expectations but once again was pleasantly surprised ). The hotel had lots of fun rock memorabilia to explore. The room was decent. Not as modern as a recent reno but by no means run down. We sat on the beach everyday so enjoyed having the pool music in the background (we did not find it loud). It was really a fun hotel for all ages. I saw couples, groups and families all being catered to. Like most mentioned, the staff are really good. Management was there every morning doing pre start up meetings I noticed. I’m not good with names so can’t give a shout out to all the fabulous people but off the top of my head the doormen super welcoming, the concierges were very attentive, the waitstaff all good (zen staff stood out), the kayak activity area person was super helpful and one of our favourites was the beach drink waiter (I think his name was Oscar ) who was fantastic! Great spot.

We had large roaches in 3 places on the floor when we woke up. They were painting the room next to us and fumes were very strong all night in our room

Unique as placement of hotel made for very easy exploration of the surrounding area, walkable. Smaller resort which makes it easier to enjoy restaurants and pools

Beautiful view. Good food. Nice pools

The service at this resort was outstanding. The food was fantastic, better than most restaurants. The entertainment was the best I've ever seen at any all-inclusive resort. I would not hesitate to recommend the Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta to anyone considering it.

Fantastic family vacation

The Italian and Asian restaurant was decent, the service of the waiters and waitress was very friendly, the food overall was ok. The beach and sand is beautiful, the resort is small and older compared to the Hard Rock in Punta Cana. The shortage of beach chairs by the swimming pools was frustrating especially when people reserve their chairs before 7am and no show until after 1pm or so. Maybe the resort needs to come up with a better and a more fair plan for that.

this was my third time staying at this hotel property with my family. The first 2 times the all around service was excellent. Unfortunatly, this last time we stayed was not at all satisfactory. The overall condition of the hotel and service and food was horrible. They had very limited food selections, and the food tasted stale and old like it was re-heated or prepared from one week ago and tasted aweful, the shower and the cleanness of our room was filthy and not clean. I will never come back to this hotel again. For the price I paid this was not at all what I expected. Very disappointed!

We stayed with 11 and 13 yo kids for Christmas and New Year eve. It was a great vacation, the best New Year party ever, though we are really experienced in this genre.
All Hard Rock hotel’s team is amazing, appreciate their excellence in service and their being so helpful in any situation.
Special thanks to Dianna from Sunbar, she is fantastic, all our group admired her positive, professional approach, and enjoyed every moment communicating with this great personality!

Property was decent, staff were probably the highlight. They were kind and attentive.
The scene at the hotel itself probably doesn't fit the usual 'Hard Rock' style. Probably only one rock song heard throughout the week long stay.
Rooms and building were nice, but it felt like it is due for a renovation. The property just felt like it had the potential to be more in this day and age.
The food at the restaurants was awful and what you'd expect at a motel style buffet. This could do so much more.
It also isn't great when one of the sales people was walking around selling their Legendary package and says word for word 'this is the smallest Hard Rock property and is one of the reasons it is one of the worst properties available'.

This was a nice hotel with a nice beachfront. Tbh, I was expecting so much more for a Hard Rock Hotel, esp since this was rated as a 5 star hotel. I stayed for 6 Days/5 Nights. The room was small and smelled damp as did the hallways. There are several restaurants here but truthfully, only the Mexican, Italian and Asian restaurants are worth it. Skip the Brazilian spot; not worth it IMO. If you eat breakfast buffet, I recommend you eat it at Ciao vs The Market. Let’s talk about the hospitality and staff; they are On Point! They made the stay wonderful. Oscar, Berny, and Daniel were amazing at the pool deck and always took good care of us! Berny’s service was amazing, I felt he was sincere and he even helped me find a curling iron for our photos; didn’t have to go out of his way but he did!! The HRH is a little away from Old Town- took us about 45 mins on a weekday bc of traffic. It’s 5 mins to Vallarta Adventures. We took private transportation to Sayulita/San Pancho which took about 1hour each way (longer to get back due to weekday traffic). To get to Puerto Vallarta’s beaches (Concha’s Chinas, Las Gemelas) expect upwards of 1 Hour or more depending on traffic. Overall, I’d give this place 4 stars out of 5. I don’t think I’ll stay here again (they need a major renovation) and will try somewhere else. I stayed at RIU Palaceast time and I’d rate that place much better than HRH, in my opinion. Overall, enjoyed my vacation and look forward to visiting Nuevo Vallarta soon!!

Spent 1 night at the Hard Rock. Great service. Quality food and drink. Great rooms. Really enjoyed our stay.

staff was eager to help, but deferred to their supervisor who did nothing
not the cleanest resort...especially around the pools there is a constant smell of sewage in and outside
one learns quickly if you want service, you better tip in advance, especially around the pool, otherwise they just ignore you.
allot of bad food, and some excellent food...the reheated mush they service at breakfast and lunch was terrible.
fireworks show was dangerous...with a terrible smell of lighting fluid as they anointed wands only feet from where we sat ...the stage caught on fire...and people just watched until it burnt out..no emergency exits established
with a name like hard rock, one would expect hard rock music...well, no. Most music was club or dance music and much to loud by the pool
adult pool was full of of babies and kids under 5... in diaper's....yes and some were just plain pampers
half the pool was reserved for HARDROCK VIP members, that was largely empty...everyone else fought for the remaining chairs
the focus of this resort was weddings....and numerous pool and beach areas were reserved for these events.
I did not get the room I expected and asked for another several times only to be ignored. Why does this always happen with Expedia ? We were located in the second last room of one wing, next to a pump station, a noisy restaurant and and even nosier beach area that had daily events and weddings until 1100 pm
this was my 4 th time to PVR, and it was not a memorable experience

Hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade. Food was ok, but nothing great. We’ve stayed at other Hard Rock hotels and they were wonderful so we were expecting the same here but we’re very disappointed. The beach was the best part of the property. Hotel staff was friendly but any time you had a request you got the run around and depending on who you asked you got different responses.

Nice hotel. Outdated. They need to spend money on the rooms. Old and worn out

Older property, clean and kept up well. Beautiful swimmable beach. Free kayaks and paddle boards were a plus. One major negative factor for my family: non-stop loud music everywhere. Late night parties, weddings, private events in the pool area until 1 am. We took the ocean view rooms and could not sleep because of the music and noise by the pools.

Staff gave me a hard time on my arrival. Check in is at 3 pm and all my family member rooms were provided with their room before 3 pm and they gave me my room until 5 pm. The staff was rude all the time and didn’t care we lost the whole day on the lobby waiting for the room. They kept saying 15 more minutes until 5 pm. I asked them what was going to happen since I lost a day waiting for the room and the staff didn’t cared and were very rude to my an mi wife. Never coming back this this hotel or chain ever.

The service was excellent, it was very clean but it was very noisy. We were told one of the pools were “adult” oriented but this was not the case. It was very busy so if you didn’t go to dinner early then you had significant wait times. Having said that the food was great at all the restaurants. We were given a “concierge” Hector, who was great and very attentive. The only catch was if you wanted any deals on excusions you had to listen to a 90 minute sales pitch which wasn’t great. As a gold member or VIP with Expedia, I requested a late room check out only 2.5 hours. I had to go to the desk multiple times to ask. In the end they denied this request but did allow us to stay at the resort and use the amenities until 3 pm. This is a great place for young families. If you don’t have children and want some down time, this is definitely not your place! But overall it was good!

Food not good quality.

Wonderful staff, room, beach, entertainment and pools. Sit down restaurants had excellent dinners. Disappointed that on two of the nights we were planning specific dinners those restaurants were closed with no guest notification. Also, the breakfast/lunch buffet was not the best. However, overall our experience was very good and we met a lot of really nice people…note - this is the Hard Rock so be prepared for some loud music.

Great for families. The facilities and location are pristine. You will get the best price if you book with little time in advance.

By NO means a 5-star resort
The good…
◦ The food was very good.
◦ The alcohol was top shelf.
◦ The staff was extremely gracious.
◦ The pool is nice (although iguanas roam the pool, which can be scary for some people).
The bad…
◦ It’s very run down (holes in walls, cracked tiles, peeled paint) - more in line with a 3 star resort.
◦ It’s incredibly LOUD. Like off the charts LOUD at ALL hours. To make it worst, the hallway (at least for level 1) was an echo chamber - you hear every little thing. There is no sleeping in this hotel. The fire alarm went off twice a day EVERY day we were there - usually around 5am.
◦ The repairs (which are badly needed) are done at your inconvenience. We did not have access to our patio for 2 days because they were painting above it.
◦ This is a pet friendly resort. I realize this is a plus for some, but barking dogs in the echo chamber hallway at all hours is not fun.
Overall, we will not be back. We’ve been to PV countless times & this has definitely been the only trip that disappointed.

Excellent property with great service, entertainment and amenities. An unexpected Category 4 hurricane hit Puerto Vallarta during our stay and we were extremely impressed with the hotel's preparation and response to the storm. They were very communicative with their guests and had options ready for us if we needed to evacuate. Additionally, they had the hotel back to normal by the next morning. Their response during the crisis really showed that the hotel was well staffed and organized. Would definitely stay here again. Oh and the Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars impersonators were incredible!
