The house was obviously old and the property not well kept up. A stale and mold-reminiscent house smell hit me right as I stepped in. Outside, there is a sewer pipe jutting out into the open - creating an odor. The floors have odd steps built in even at ground level. The two bedrooms are low ceilings and found up a creaky set of stairs. The one bathroom on ground floor had a grimy shower head and dirty tub floor. The stairs outside going up to the garage had steps missing. Yikes! We left after one night we heard loud knocks at one of the locked doors and couldn't see anyone outside. After the creepy vibes, that was enough to send us home. I had to go to Food City locally and buy Febreze to make the place palatable. I wouldn't suggest this rental, even for the cheap price.

We came to TN for my uncle's 90th birthday party. The cottage was everything we needed to be comfortable - a place to rest and sleep between visits with family. The place was clean and check-in was easy. We travel with our two Golden Retrievers so the fenced yard was the best!

Well, folks, if you're seeking a fairy tale vacation, Storybook Cottage in Knoxville, TN might just be your personal horror story! Our stay here left us questioning whether Cinderella ever had to put up with this kind of hassle. First, let's talk about the lock. Apparently, they've got a "guess the combination" game going on because the one they provided was pure fiction. Trying to unlock the door was like trying to find a glass slipper in a haystack. We only got the right combo after finding a phone number not listed on the booking. Now, onto the cottage itself. It's so small that even Snow White's seven dwarfs would've felt cramped. The furniture looked like it had seen better centuries, and the foam mattresses? Well, let's just say they were more of a "pea under the mattress" experience. And oh, the kitchen! Four glasses? Seriously? I guess they're encouraging us to practice our mixology skills. As for the fridge, it had no crisper drawers, which made storing our apples for the wicked stepmother a real challenge. In conclusion, if you're in the mood for a vacation that feels more like a Grimm's Fairy Tale than a Disney classic, Storybook Cottage might just be your cup of poison apple cider. But for the rest of us looking for a comfortable getaway, it's a hard pass!

Overall our stay was good. Property owner was very responsive. No issues with our stay which had a true cottage feel, rustic, but clean. Distance from UTK was 15 min and many restaurants nearby. Would consider staying again.

We wanted a place we could bathe our two 2-year old twins and wash clothes! It was a bonus to get two bedrooms and full-size kitchen as well.
