The staff was awesome, and the facility reminds me of a bed and breakfast, it's very well-maintained and cute.
My room was on the 4th floor and had a slanted ceiling, which impacted the window. Too much light was getting in.

The old pictures in the hallways and rooms add to the old ambiance of early west coast.

A great location in Santa Rosa, surrounded by good bars and restaurants, and close to downtown. Bonus, across the street from the SMART train station.
Not their fault, but Sonoma County summer weekends drive very pricey room rates. If you're paying $$, it pays to stay someplace nice like La Rose.

Room was very cute, clean and comfortable. AC worked amazing and it was a hot few days!

I was disappointed the lovely complimentary breakfast was discontinued.
The above, along with being charged for parking.

The room was very comfortable. Of course that was after the upgrade. Truly a cute room! It was a Jr. Suite with the most comfortable bed.
We used Booking.com and when checking in, they said the reservation didn't show and we had to wait for tech support to fix the problem. The tech support was only through text messaging back and forth with the staff. Needless to say, it was absolutely miserable for us to wait more than 25 minutes to check in due to computer difficulties. Once checked in, we trudged up to our assigned room, swiped our key and the door safety chain was on. THEY HAD GIVEN US AN OCCUPIED ROOM!!! I never felt so vulnerable in my entire life!! Entering an occupied room is incredibly dangerous!

Great location both in Santa Rosa and in surrounding counties. Very good/easy parking. I liked staying and felt at home in this old historic building and it was comfy in all respects, with many touches of elegance.
The wi fi had its moments but in general was fine.

The rooms at their Carriage House across the street are nice, roomy, tub & balcony. Careful about stubbing your toes the bed frames are almost on the floor & we kept hurting ourselves. There is no elevator to these top rooms. The courtyard is nice with small fountain that I could hear a little bit but didn't bother me. I enjoyed the immediate hot water & tub! We were Room 61!
We only had one nite stand. No more breakfast served anymore since Covid which was a bummer. Grossmans is attached next door has food $$. Better breakfast place 5 blocks away I hear.
The internet was not great &
The T.V. was super bummer as the cable is not regular cable & blurry. I could not watch our regular local news or shows. Seems they switched to something else that I was not able to work & no guide for working the T.V. either. Looks like one might be able to log onto Pluto, Apple tv, Hulu, Amazon tv & such. That kinda ruined my stay as it was my first outing since the pandemic!
La Gare restaurant is a block away & decent dinner but be aware that they serve breakfast like potatoes for dinner on all plates. My Bearnaise sauce was not great & I had one veggie as everyone else had 2.
John Ash & Co. restaurant the nite b4 was not worth the money but the restaurant atmosphere was pretty! Food was bland, no herbs or flavor like I was expecting & higher price that La Gare.

not a big deal but the parking was a little hassle . would have been better if it wasnt raining so much while we were there. sure glad they had rolling carts to get our luggage back and forth .

Staff was very nice, bottled water was a nice touch.
Plenty of room in the downstairs lobby for breakfast, yet no breakfast served. Could also do a complimentary wine and cheese happy hour down in the lobby—the alcohol license for this for hotels is relatively easy to get in California. With no other hospitality provided (not even free parking), thought hotel could do more to set itself apart from other properties in downtown Santa Rosa and encourage repeat business.

I stayed in a Junior Suite in the main building. I had a view of Railroad Square that was entertaining. Building was old and charming.
The windows were dirty and when the sun was on them you could not see out. Heating and A/C had to run 24/7 yet did not make much of a difference.

the parking lot is. it monitored enough. paid for parking and had times we couldn’t find a spot. it seemed like people who didn’t pay were parking there.
