We absolutely loved our stay at this jewel in a great neighborhood with easy access to the central plaza and many excellent restaurants. Casa Montezuma was charming and we felt like we were part of the family. Great homemade breakfasts each morning on the patio. But the best part was the friendly, knowledgeable staff who went out of their way every day to make sure we were having the best experience! We would return here and a minute and would recommend this lovely place to anyone looking for a unique Mexican experience you won't forget!
Really there was nothing. The rooms were a little on the spare side but perfectly comfortable with all the amenities you need.

Absolutely one of the loveliest places we’ve stayed, and we travel quite a bit. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and attentive, the location perfect. A few blocks from the central plaza and the market, which are the centers of Coyoacán. Photos cannot capture how peaceful and inviting the courtyard is, especially after a day of trekking around CDMX. Breakfast on the terrace each morning was a delightful highlight.

Breakfast was delicious. The room was simple but comfy. The location was just a couple blocks from downtown Coyoacan. I wish we had spent an extra night here. 15 minute walk to metro which takes you to the heard of Zocalo but no crowds at the hotel. Or 5 minute walk to the heart of downtown Coyoacan which is busy in a more "local family weekend getaway" style on the weekends and more tranquil on the weekdays.
Staff was kind and helpful.
You cannot pre-pay through Booking.com using the price quoted by the website. You have to pay in-person, so the final total can change from what Booking.com said.
The way the hotel processes payments depends on the local exchange rate determined by the bank they use on the day of payment. I was given one price on Booking.com but when I went to pay I was charged more than that amount. Thankfully, the hotel staff agreed to a compromise which was still higher than Booking.com but only marginally.

Just bit hot during the afternoon.

Receptionist/breakfast chef lovely Ami was friendly and very helpful with all our queries. Excellent breakfast with fresh fruit and local dishes. Nice and cosy courtyard well maintained by Miguel who also was very helpful when needed. Our room had lot of space and great kitchen area. Walking distance of colourful Coyoacan park/square and Frida Kahlo museum.
Wifi was slightly weak and unreliable also would have been nice to have a TV in the room.

Casa Moctezuma is located in a quiet street close to the centre of Coyoacan (really nice neighbourhood). The rooms are spacious, the garden is beautiful and they serve breakfast there. The breakfast is very very tasty, the best breakfast we had in our 2.5 weeks in Mexico. The staff are friendly, they do not all speak English but we worked things out in the end.
In the loft room, our bed was located towards the ceiling and it got a bit hot at night. Also the cv kettle took a while to produce hot watter.

The staff were very friendly , . Simple breakfast but delicious and enough to get the day started..
The location was fantastic
The bed was massive and comfortable
We stayed in a split-level apartment. The room was warm in the evenings, and as there was no air-conditioning, we slept with the door open .neighbourhood could be a bit noisy

Breakfast was fantastic and fresh, and included fruits and what tasted like a home made jam.
Casa Moctezuma also seemed quite eco-friendly. The toiletries were all in glass bottles and you were able to refill your own water bottle (or the bottle they provide in the room) at their beautiful outdoor kitchen (located right in the courtyard, so very accessible for all guests). I loved that they provided 'free' filtered water (as opposed to having to request plastic bottles) - and of course, that we weren't using so much plastic :)
Their courtyard and room furnishings are also great.

Loved the feeling of being in an old, private property. It makes the visit so much more authentic. The grounds are beautiful and have little corners to relax. The best part about this stay is Miguel who was the ground keeper of the property. He was very helpful answering questions and accommodating to our requests to make our stay more comfortable.
water pressure in the shower and limited options to cool the room. for example, opening the terrace window/door are best option for nice cool air going in but we can’t leave it open at night because it faces the street. portable air conditioner is on the loft but the hot air is directed in the bathroom downstairs instead of outside.

The room was clean, My wife and I felt very safe on this property, and would recommend anyone traveling to Mexico City to stay at Casa Moctezuma. Made our experience all the better. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you for making us feel welcome for our first time in Mexico.

the location in the colorful Coyoacan area is great yet the nights were quiet and peaceful for sleeping.
The kitchen lacked basic supplies like coffee cups, eating utensils, and a water kettle. We could use a pan to boil water for afternoon coffee but a kettle would be lovely. The attendant was able to secure a wine opener when we asked. we expected a more utilitarian kitchen.

We booked very late at night and slept soundly in the most comfortable bed. Little did we know or expect, a miniature paradise the next day . A courtyard with beautiful stone mosaic paths, columned celadon veranda, two large ornate bird baths and wonderful elephant palms, flowers and a vertical garden on electric blue brick wall backdrop.
The lovely owner told us a history about the home, of the philosopher, who had an extensive library. We were served fruit. juice, a variety of breads, excellent coffee and a choice of fresh eggs any way you liked. In the evening we hosted two friends , and the staff set up a table in the courtyard with white linen - wine glasses and mezcal glasses. The evening garden was lit with many beautiful lights.Their was a selection of many good local restaurants and food was delivered. They have a full kitchen for guests with dinnerware and utensils that we used.
We were in Coyoacan to visit the Trotsky museum and Casa Azul which are 10 minute walks along the streets of the most colorful and beautiful neighborhood in CDMX. On the way back we spent time in the Mercado in the park and discovered an artist who made wonderful prints . There was outdoor salsa dancing and vendors with every kind of street food and pastry. The whole experience was superb and I would highly recommend ! Gracias!

Staff were amazing! Location is lovely. Bed was very comfortable. I think I was expecting our room to match the marketing photos but it was very institutional (almost like a dorm room), there was no charm or architectural features at all. The other rooms looked amazing with their stone and brick walls etc. We were in room 11.
