Nestled in Alexandria, this charming house for $302 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Welcome to The Dog House! We have a pet- and family- friendly townhouse set up for frequent travelers. It’s comfortable and well-appointed, with an eclectic mix of antiques and brand-new furniture, steps away from key attractions that bring people to Old Town Alexandria, Washington DC, and National Harbor. Here, you will enjoy all the comforts of home. The fully equipped kitchen includes oven, dishwasher and refrigerator/freezer with ice-maker. Small appliances include blender, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. The Dog House has wifi, Cable TV, and board games. There is also a washer and dryer if you need to get some laundry done while you are here. With ample living space and a patio on the main level and two bedrooms upstairs, it’s easy living for families or people with differing schedules. The master bedroom has a queen bed with closet and dresser. The second bedroom has two twin beds with closet and dresser. Capital Bikeshare, District Taco, gourmet coffee, convenience store, and Balducci’s: all within 1 block. Easy access to: Downtown DC (about $20 Uber ride,) ~20 min walk to Metro; Convenient to DCA; 6 blocks to King St.; 4 blocks to the historic GW parkway and Potomac River recreation path. Easy access to I-95. Perfect headquarters for a visit to the Nation's Capital.

This has to be the best rental we’ve stayed in. We were there a month and it felt truly like home with everything we could possibly need and the house beautifully decorated and so cozy. We loved everything about it and will definitely return.

We were here for family vacation. The location was with in walking distance of old town for us and close to bus stops when wanting to use the metro. Enjoyed our stay and the owners were so easy to work with! They have the house stocked with anything you could need and have an adorable little place!

We are a family of five grown adults and we absolutely enjoyed our stay here. We all fit and while it was cozy, it was clean and relaxing. The area was great for getting around easily to everything we wanted to see and experience. I highly recomment anyone staying here and Joel was very accommodating. A+++

This house was absolutely perfect! The two bedrooms were big and the bathroom was nicely renovated. It's location was amazing and just a short walk into most of the shops in Alexandria. It also was just a short drive into DC. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and loved it so much!

This townhouse is right on the edge of really beautiful old town and we enjoyed walking to the square and along the Potomac. I felt very comfortable in the neighborhood. The interior is very tastefully decorated with all the comforts and extras, especially in the kitchen. The back patio provides a very nice spot to have morning coffee. Beds were very comfy. Not practical for walking to a metro stop, but was only a 10 minute drive to Huntington Station where parking is available for $5. Parking on the street was no problem, always available. Would stay here again.

This home is located in a charming neighborhood in Alexandria, VA. It was easy to use the metro to get into Washington DC. We loved going to the waterfront in the evenings to walk around and find a restaurant for dinner. Joel was an amazing host. He was always availabe if we needed anything. I would stay here again.

Our stay at the Dog House could not have gone better! Pristinely clean, decorated with personal touches, and in the best location! Great proximity to D.C. and to Old Town Alexandria. Walking distance to a great market, taco place, etc. So many options for food and shops close by. We truly can not wait to return to Alexandria and specifically the Dog House.

It was a beautiful house. They put in so much loving detail. It was an ammazing location within walking distance of the waterfront and we had a lovely time.

The house had lots of character - we loved the artworks and general feel of the place. There were a bunch of food items and cooking materials so we could cook reasonably well at home when we wanted to. The USB charging ports in the alarm clocks in the bedroom and on the buffet in the dining room were fantastic for our device-heavy family.
The walk to the waterfront and main historic / shopping area of Old Town was 20 - 30 minutes and there were plenty of things nearby for dinner and grocery choices as well.
This was a great place to stay to catch up with our friends in the DC area.

The Dog House was an amazing location. It was clean and had all the items you may forget when traveling. Downtown Alexandria is in walking distance with amazing restaurants. Joel was quick to respond to messages and very accommodating. It’s definitely a place I’d live to stay again.

I had a wonderful stay at the dog house during Thanksgiving! This was my second time staying here and it was once again clean and had everything I needed. The kitchen was well stocked and I was able to prepare side dishes to bring over to Thanksgiving dinner. I will be staying again!

We had a great week in Old Town! We biked all over the area, 45 min bike ride to the National Mall from the house—an amazing trail along the Potomac right by the airport. We fell in love with the neighborhood and the all the amazing restaurants and ice cream shops, yum! The house was perfect for our family, had everything we needed and our kids loved the unique staircase and the family board games! Excellent property and location. Would definitely rent again next time we visit the DC area.

My family of 5 stayed for 2 nights on our way back from SC. We ALL loved this house. Very inviting, clean and comfortable. The beds were amazing. The townhouse has everything we needed. You couldn't ask for a better location. Parking was a breeze a d could walk to all parts of Old Town. Would definitely recommend!

Great location, lovely home for a family
We absolutely loved staying at this property! The location is convenient to DC and other local historical areas. Alexandria is a beautiful historic town with waterfront areas, an old town section with great restaurants and beautiful scenery. The property is convenient to a grocery store, convenience store and the highway. Parking was always available right in front of the house. This house was perfect for a family of four. It is clean, well laid out and well stocked with everything you need! The owner really thought of everything! The owner is very responsive and has an open line of communication prior to and during your stay. I highly recommend this property!

Loaded townhome, like home!
Loved our stay at Joel's townhome/row house. It was perfect for our family of 4. Loved having a fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. We were able to wash clothes and make breakfast which was great as the middle part of out weeklong road trip. So many extra touches that it felt like visiting someone's home asap guest. We ordered to go from Pita House and so yummy, great recommendation! The grocery store is a block away and short 6 block walk to main King street shops. We took the metro to DC for the day and killed our feet walking so much, but all worth it to return to clean house. Tip..take the free trolley from the metro station back down King street and then not as long a walk back home. Thanks Joel for being an amazing host. If we are ever in the area again we will be back!
