Breakfast was great, fresh fruits, fresh drinks pressed from local fruits. Since the lodge i a cca. 300 meters away from the beach, no party noice. Very quite in the afternoon except bird singing. We had a rental car and a parking lot was avaiable all the time. Staff amazing, reading your wishes before you can tell them.
There is not to much, our room was ok. the bathroom needs a bit refreshment. We had two bats hanging from ceiling every afternoon which is not really disturbing me but the floor on the terrace was dirty from fruits they have eaten. Sometimes there was no water, but the team fixed it within seconds. Also the dirt road to the lodge requires an SUV. Since the location is green, means no conrete flooring surfaces, no walkways with stones, many plants and so on, we had some mosquitos in the room. highly recommend "no bite" spray which can be purched in more less every local market.

Nice cosy place with very friendly and helpful staff!

All the staff except the owner were very friendly and attentive to me.
The beach is only 10 minutes walk away.
The pool at the hotel next door, Princess of Zanzibar, is spectacular.
The food is good and the breakfast too.
The owner has very bad habits of taking certain substances that make him treat customers and his own staff very badly. I left 2 days earlier than I had booked as I felt very badly treated for him.
The cabins are very small, the shower is tiny, there is no space to hang towels and it is horribly hot inside the room.
The wifi works very badly, i had to go to the hotel next door.
The common rooms are poorly maintained with the mattresses on the floor.

The garden is well kept
Water issues, shower head is handheld. Bedding had blood stains on it, even after they fitted new ones. No extra entertainment for kids. The area is not very good. Overpriced for what you get

The property provided a safe basis for our group of 10pax to either go out and explore, or stay 'in' and enjoy each other's company in the lovely gardens/having a beer/playing boardgames in the 'restaurant' are. The property is close enough to the sea, and we figured out getting there pretty soon after arriving here. The public bus is a ±500m walk from Mt Zion and easy way to get from Michamvi Kae to Pinge/Paje for the same rate (ask at Mt Zion what rate should be - for us it was Tzh500 one-way). Breakfast was great, the chef was accommodating when we had special requests. Chef Salum, probably makes the best octopus and calamari in the whole of Michamvi.
Initial expectation (based on booking.com info) was not completely met, but we still enjoyed our stay - it is however necessary to note the following:
* a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden and barbecue. - we made use of the bar after hours, although did not see any staff at this time - we left money in the fridge
* The lodge features both WiFi... - there is wifi, but it works intermittently. Usually not once everyone has gone to bed. Not a big problem for us, since we didn't go to hang around on our phones all the time, but good to take note of.
* There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. - the bathroom is a toilet with shower - no toiletries provided - this was a bit of an issue for some of our guests, since they bargained on it - they had to go and buy some toiletries
* Mount Zion Lodge offers a continental or à la carte breakfast. - we didn't understand this was the case - we had the option of scrambled eggs, omelet, poached, fried or boiled egg with pancakes and fruit (which was great, and we had it each morning), but 8 days in a row it got a bit much for some. We asked for 'special' omelet for some to get more protein and less starch, which they staff gladly provided.
* Tea/coffeemaker in all rooms - there is no kettle or coffee/teamaker of any sorts in any of the rooms. When we asked about a kettle in the room, the staff was confused. It is however possible to ask for hot water at the bar, or they will show you how to make your own (boil water in a pot) in the kitchen, when they are not busy.
In addition to the above:
* if there isn't water in the taps - simply ask - water has to be pumped, if you don't have warm water - there is probably a switch that wasn't turned on
* for 10 pax initially the food service was super fast (and still was for breakfast), but around Michamvi (not just at our lodge) very few places can make dinner for 10 pax and serve it in a timely manner.

The place was nice and clean. Very nice hangout.
It is a bit far from the beach. The portions of food are quite small.

We loved absolutely everything about this place. First of all, I want to thank Zawadee and Paola for the great care they took of me when I fell ill. You are always in my heart <3
The little houses are situated about 5 minutes walk from the beach, in the green garder.. oh my god the garden! What a fantastic idea with all the beds and chill out swings everywhere!
The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and always so beautifully served. Zawadee greeted us all so warmly every morning and the rasta guy (I'm sorry, I don't remember his name :( ) was so helpful and always made me smile. Never thought I would feel like with my own family with these guys.
The rooms were very clean, we had two fans - one on the ceiling and one portable. All el. sockets worked even when we all were charging in our phones at the same time.
There are 3 adorable dogs in the resort, such nice pups who would go everywhere with us. We went to the beach and they went with us, played in the water, running happily on the beach, it was a pure happiness. We miss them a lot and we can't wait to go back :)
The only thing we were missing were some shelves in the bathroom :)

A lovely wee spot that’s great value and rather chilled. Zo-Wadi and Happiness were the dream team, ensuring we had a fun and comfortable stay. Beers and water are ice cold, Chef can cook up a storm and breakfast really helps to set up the day. Fresh fruit was just bliss! Reasonable access to MZL and the beach. Swing round to Pingwe and try Coconut restaurant for delicious seafood.

Friendly and helpful staff. Nice atmosphere and lot of chill spots. Location close to the ocean.
A bit more light in room would be nice.
We got a tiny sink in washroom and no toilet paper holder, had to keep it on the floor.
