It is hard to decide what to mention first. The amazing wrap around porch that overlooks the water and sand, with swinging pallets and rocking chairs, makes a wonderful place to sit and watch your kids play in the sand. Playing in the water was great too, it is nice and shallow for kids. The owners lend the use of kayaks and canoes and even life jackets, which really amped up the fun. Gathering at the end of the day in the large kitchen and around the great table, for dinner and games, may have been the best though. There were plenty of comfy couches and seating in the living room as well and more than enough bedding, towels and kitchen equipment for our group of 13. It was an amazing spot and we plan to return annually!

No complaints at all about the house, guest house, or property. It was tidy and clean when we got there, with plenty of linens and towels. Beds and pillows were so comfy! Loved the place! My only complaint is the neighbor to the right of the house. I was not a fan and he obviously is a miserable person. If it wasn’t for him I would go back and recommend more people to go but with the neighbor I just can’t.

We had plenty of room for 6 adults and 6 teens/children - loved having space to spread out and relax as well as gather. The home was exceptionally clean and beds were very comfortable. The dining table seats 14 and the kitchen is huge! Two refrigerators and two large sinks on opposite sides make cooking for a group so easy. We absolutely loved being right on the bay. The kayaks and paddle board were fun for our whole group, and the screened porch was amazing for morning coffee while watching dolphins play right in front of us, and naps during a rainstorm. The owner/host is friendly and accessible, responds almost immediately, and provided privacy during our stay. We can't wait to visit again!

Great place to stay
We took the littles on their first vacation and this place was fantastic. The owners are nice and easy to work with. The house itself is amazing and worked out well for our family. It was perfect being right on the bay and on the water. Made the kids want to play out in the water all day every day.

This property is amazing. We had our family of 6 adults, 2 teens, 2 children under 6yo, and a baby. The house was perfect - beautiful in both decor and lay-out. Three of the five bedrooms have their own access to the large wrap-around porch - perfect for everyone to have their own privacy. We practically lived on the porch facing the bay. The view was breathtaking and the breeze was wonderful! We were able to tie up our boat in the bay for use during the day and were provided a dock on the calmer 'creek' side to dock in the evenings. The swimming set-up is perfect for the kids! The water is shallow enough that the kids could safely play. The house is VERY well stocked with anything you could need. and the hosts were so kind and extremely accommodating! Hated to leave but we WILL be back!

Just the space you need.
The house is very lovely. It’s nicely decorated but not to nice that you have to worry about the kids. The beach area is nice and the bay was perfect for swimming.
The only thing is the owner lives literally right next door. We wasn’t bothered by them whatsoever. I just think this should be full disclosure when renting the property. Also, your 30 minutes from anywhere.

This home is a very cool southern comfort home. The wrap around porch was so spacious, the kids had lots of room to play when it rained. We had 6 adults and 5 kids plus visiting relatives and had plenty of room in the house. The porch was so relaxing. Can’t wait to go again!

Our family of 9 had space to spare. It's a lovely spot with very little noise or congestion as it's away from town and the busy vacation hot spots. The photos are very representative, and the hosts are super accommodating. We'd love to come back someday!

No real beach. Water had debri in it. Husband cut foot . Dogs crapped in yard. Kids got flea bites
Did not like it. No chairs around water at all. No blinds on Windows facing owners. Felt like we were being watched the whole time. Left 3 days early.

The Perdido House is a gem!
the Perdido House was awesome! We had three families with plenty of room for all. Beautiful house, clean, well stocked & all with a great view! The wrap around porch, bed swings and ping pong table were a big hit. We will be back for sure. Thank you Priscilla for everything!

Great place to spend time with family and friends. Kids loved the kayaks and waterfront! We loved that it was iff the beaten track, yet so close to many things in the area to explore.

Fabulous property and host
We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay here. An extended family of 11 was comfortably accommodated in this spacious and beautifully maintained historic home. Priscilla was a delight--just the right amount of warmth and leaving us to ourselves. We felt well supported and would definitely return. Kitchen is well supplied with dishes and tools. Numerous bedrooms and bathrooms together with large shared spaces make for an ideal setting.

What a beautiful house on the Bay!!
We absolutely loved our stay in this home. Every amenity you could think of was provided by the owner. The bedrooms, spacious kitchen, and wonderful porch made our stay very comfortable. The children loved swimming and fishing in the bay. This home is truly a treasure and I am so glad that the owner opens the doors so that other families can enjoy quality time together in such a peaceful setting. We most definitely will revisit this home again.

Loved this place!
This is a great place! We had 8 adults and 4 children. My favorite thing about the house was the giant kitchen table. We were all able to sit and have meals together. The kitchen was very well stocked and very spacious! The wrap around screened porch is awesome. We had 3 children under the age of 5 so it's very nice that you can latch the screens and not worry about them getting out and heading to the water. It was very nice in the evening to sit on the porch and relax.
The house came with a canoe, kayaks and life jackets for all ages. The family enjoyed going out in the canoe. While we were there the water was calm. Tide was high so not a whole lot of beach area. My nephews fished but didn't catch much. However we still managed to have a good time.
We weren't too far form things to do. We visited alligator alley, The Wharf in Orange Beach and The Hangout in Gulf Shores. By recommendation of Priscilla the house manager we went to Johnson Beach in Florida which was not as crowded and just as pretty! The kids loved the white sand and the beach area was very clean ! Water wasn't very blue cause of all the storms that area has had lately. There were public restroom and a picnic area. Well worth the $15 to get in.
All in all an awesome experience. My only complaint is that I wish we could have stayed longer. I would highly recommend this house!

Great Time!
We had 6 adults, 4 kids, 2 teenagers and a baby and we all fit very well without the use of the guest house. The kitchen and living area is very spacious with lots of seating and the kitchen is absolutely amazing! There is a bedroom with a double behind the kitchen and a pantry/laundry area off the kitchen as well. To get to the other 3 bedrooms you enter the screened porch area, each bedroom has a private entrance off the screened porch. The porch side facing the water receives a nice breeze and was a favorite place to sit. Everyone enjoyed the bay area. Canoeing, kayaking and fishing - the water was choppy because of storms a couple days but otherwise it was almost like being on a lake. There is no beach but the water is very shallow so the kids enjoyed swimming and hunting for hermit crabs. There is grocery and restaurants in Foley, AL about 20-25 min away. We also visited Johnson Beach, Naval Aviation Museum and Pensacola lighthouse which were all about 30 min. away. This is a great house for relaxing but not too far from local attractions for fun outings! The owner is also very helpful and will quickly answer any questions you may have - you will definitely enjoy your stay!

OUR 4TH VISIT...
Our family LOVES Mark's Ark...we lovingly call it the "Alabama House". It is such a great place to relax and connect with family. I slept in the cottage and loved every minute of it...so charming. We kayaked, played ping pong, sat on the porch and loved every minute of it! Thanks Priscilla and family for making such a special place available to the rest of us! I hope Winston is doing good...give Reggie a pat on the head for us.

Can't Beat it!!
This is our third February visit to Mark's Ark over the past four years! The layout of the home, the gourmet kitchen, the many bedrooms off the wrap-around porch and now the restoration of the guest house make this a perfect getaway spot!! The home is fully equipped, immaculate, and the owner, Priscilla, has become a great friend...so easy to work with. We shall return!!

Third Visit
Fabulous home! We have stayed here three times with seven children. There is plenty of room and space to spread out. The ping pong table is a hit, and we love the kayaks and canoes! The water is perfect for little children! We love sitting on the porch and cooking in the huge kitchen. The extra refrigerator in the laundry room provides plenty of space for extra food and drinks. My children always ask to go back to this house. We all love it!

Wonderful house we loved everything about it.
We were absolutely pleased with our stay at Mark's Ark. It was perfect for our family. Plenty of room for all of us to be together. The arrangement of the bedrooms allows for private and quiet times too. Can't wait to go back.
