About this cottage rental
Located in Saugatuck, this charming cottage for $384 per night is a great option for your next trip. Weekly Rentals only from mid-June thru the Labor Day Week on a Friday to Friday Rental Cycle Short Term/Nightly Rentals are available during the Spring & Fall seasons. Rates vary depending upon the length of stay and day of the week. Specify dates for a detailed quote. Save over $300 Off the Weekly Summer Rate during May and November. This rental is a charming, two bedroom cottage perfect for a romantic couples' get-a-way or small family vacation. It has an ideal location just two houses from downtown shops and restaurants and is secluded on a dead end,. cul-de-sac with little traffic or pedestrian noise. The cottage has a very private stone patio in the back off the master bedroom which has an umbrella table and chairs and a chimenea for romantic fires, on those cool nights. The large side yard is nicely landscaped and is a great place for a picnic, yard games or child's play. The cottage is Pet Friendly and there's even a bike rack for securing your bike. Pickleball and Tennis courts are just a few blocks away. Being just a stone's throw from downtown you'll find yourself walking everywhere. The Cottage is also only a block away from the river and Wickes Park where you can sit and watch the river boat traffic, people watch or fish. The chain ferry is at the end of the street and can take you across the river where you can walk or ride your bike to the beach. Having two (2) on-site parking spots is especially welcoming when you drive somewhere and come back later to find them waiting on your return and being the only two open spots anywhere around. You'll enjoy your time in this cottage and the ease of access to downtown. You'll definitely want to return. The cottage is rented weekly during the Summer Season and nightly during the Spring and Fall with a 2 or 3 night minimum stay. Two small dogs (20 lbs each or less or one medium sized) are allowed with the owner's approval and payment of a Pet Fee. Please read the included Pet Policy requirements; especially the need to kennel/crate your pet(s) whenever left alone in the cottage. Our linen package includes bed pads, pillows, pillow cases, sheets and blankets. Bath mats & dish towels are also provided. However, It is necessary for you to bring your own bath and beach towels. Obviously, the washer/dryer will make this requirement easier. We had a delightful time staying at your property. It was just the right size for the three of us and we were delighted at the close proximity to downtown.
We would recommend only a few items for your consideration. The faucet in the bathroom is quite squeaky ~ perhaps a bit of lubricant would help. And the couch in the front room is somewhat uncomfortable to sit on...not a deal breaker, just feedback.
It was nice to meet you and look forward to coming back to Michigan again!

Jan and Gary are great hosts and communicators. The house was the perfect size for my husband and I - plus our dog. We anticipated getting in a bit later due to work and holiday traffic, and they made sure to have the AC on and sent clear instructions so we could arrive with ease. The house is in the perfect location, tidy, with nice touches like a comfy bed with extra pillows, fully stocked kitchen, and lots of brochures on local attractions and events. We loved being able to walk to town, on the boardwalk, and within the neighborhood, then come back to the quiet comforts of this home. We hope to be back again soon - Saugatuck is a magical place, and Jan and Gary’s hospitality made it even more special. Thank you!

Nice place close to downtown for a City experience while in Western Michigan. Good for a couple or a family with one or two small children. Would recommended for a these type of customers. Saugatuck in August is about the best place to be in Michigan and this home fits the experience nicely.

The cottage was absolutely adorable, super clean and comfortable. Very peaceful little nook, which was so nice.
The location cannot be beat, in the heart of everything Saugatuck has to offer. Everything in walking distance. I parked the car in the spacious 2 car private spot(s) and basically didn’t move it until it was time to leave.

My two sisters and I had sisters weekend and this very quaint town of Saugatuck, Michigan
The bedding was soft, picture window in the living room, dining room and antique table and chairs big enough to have game night looking out lots of flowers outside. The only recommendation honestly would be to have more relaxing seating…. Sliding doors off of the master bedroom to sit outside in a magical garden. Gary, the owner was wonderful to deal with and made some recommendations of things to do in the area. We had a fantastic time and would go back again.

Great location. Super close to everything in Saugatuck. Can walk very easily anywhere you need. Shops, restaurants and the water are literally steps away. Hosts were great and communicated clearly. Check in and out was a breeze. The place was neat and tidy as pictured. Would definitely recommend.

My wife and I rented Jan's Cottage for a weekend as a couples getaway. It worked out perfectly for our situation because we were able to bring our two dogs and there was a dedicated parking spot, making it easy to load/unload all our gear. The location is perfect just a couple blocks from the heart of downtown and the waterfront. The hosts were gracious and accommodating. We wouldn't hesitate to return in the Spring.

We had a wonderful vacation staying at this property. Cottage is exactly what was listed and was perfect for us during our week long stay in Saugatuck. Really liked being able to walk to stores and restaurants in town and not have to deal with cars/parking. Gary and Jan were very hospitable and were great to deal with. Jan's Cottage was so comfortable and so beautifully appointed. 'Kitchen had all one would need, all of the natural light was wonderful, the location to downtown could not have been better, off-street parking and our small dogs were welcome.

This past weekend we experienced a very enjoyable weekend in Saugatuck! Jan's cottage offered us exactly what we needed - a nice comfortable space in a very convenient location. Our only regret was we could not stay longer given our schedules.

You can walk to everything but you also have a dedicated parking space if you want to run out. The bathroom was a little small but nothing that you can't work around.... We would rent again :)

This was our third time staying at Jan’s Cottage. By now you can probably tell it’s the best place to stay in Saugatuck.
The town was absolutely packed with vacation folks and parking was nearly impossible. Staying at Jan’s Cottage - not a problem! It’s a block away from the Main Street (Butler St). We left our car parked and easily walked the town.
Gary (the cottage owner) is very easy to work with. He was able to accommodate us on short notice and is always a pleasure to work with. Great guy.
