Home sleeps up to 6 adults and 2 children. Newly renovated Carmel-by-the-Sea cottage in a tree-lined neighborhood framed by beautiful vistas of the nearby Santa Lucia Mountains. Conveniently located near shopping, dining and two Carmel beaches. The 4 bedroom, 3.5-bath home has sweeping views from the main floor and deck of the mountains that border nearby Carmel Valley. This 1,800-square-foot residence is conveniently located within a 7 minute walk to two Carmel beaches. It's also just a 3 minute walk to the famous Carmel Mission Basilica Museum and to Carmel Mission Ranch where you can enjoy dinner or Sunday brunch with an ocean and pasture view of grazing sheep. Downtown Carmel is an easy 10 minute walk passing wine tasting rooms, restaurants, galleries, Nielsen’s gourmet deli and the Sunset Center. Point Lobos State Natural Reserve hiking area is just a five minute drive from the house. Ten minutes by car you will find popular attractions such as the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row and Asilomar, and half an hour to Big Sur. It's also near golfing and sightseeing in Pebble Beach®. Living Spaces The living room has whitewashed vaulted ceilings, comfortable seating with a plush linen sofa, feather/down pillows, two white Italian leather swivel chairs plus a large storage ottoman. There is a dramatic black and white handcrafted botanical patterned console, Caracole designer Windsor-style chair, Gray Malin photography and a 55 inch HDTV. Just beyond are views of the nearby mountains through large windows or from the upper deck, which has patio seating and a gourmet gas grill. Downstairs is a small library under the stairs and a TV room with a 50 inch HDTV; the sofa here converts to a queen sleeper. Kitchen and Dining The gourmet kitchen has seating around a built-in table with Cambria quartz countertops, white custom cabinetry, and high-end Wolf appliances with plenty of storage space, built-in seating and a window seat overlooking the garden. A pullout faucet and deep sink complement a gas cooktop, wall oven, microwave and high-tech refrigerator and a Keurig coffee and tea maker. Bedrooms and Bathrooms Upstairs, Bedroom #1 is a primary suite with a gas fireplace, 43" TV, Cal King bed and en suite bath with gold fixtures. The bathroom has a cedar-lined closet, a wall-mounted shaving mirror, dual sinks, quartz counter-tops and marble tile in the shower. Also on this level is Bedroom #2 with a full size bed. Nearby is a half-bath/laundry room with washer and dryer. Just a few steps up, Bedroom #3 has a queen bed, dual closets and en suite bath with a shower and white tile with floral accents. There is a low spot in the ceiling when going up or down the stairs accessing this room. People over 5'5 or so will need to be aware. Once past that point this pleasant room has a higher ceiling. Downstairs, Bedroom #3 has a Cal King bed and access to the backyard garden, where there are flagstone paths, a patio with comfortable seating, and a meditation area. The nearby full bathroom on this level has a shower. Also on this level is a TV room/den with a queen sofabed. This is a pass-through room near the bottom of the stairs. Parking for 2 cars in the driveway. An electric vehicle charging port is available upon request. Plan to bring your cord and adapter. **Home is dog friendly for small non-barking dogs with approval and additional fee** This home is a monthly rental and we request that all nights of your stay are within the same calendar month. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time in Carmel for the month od September 2023. The home leased through Sanctuary Vacation Rental was perfect. The updated kitchen and bathrooms were very nice and the home easily accomodated our group of 6 adults. Fabulous views of the Carmel Highlands with many windows all around.The House Manager was responsive to several small issues which were resolved immediately. Overall a great experience - this is the 3rd year we have worked with Sanctuary Vacation Rentals and we will continue to use the company as our preferred source for stays in Carmel. The Staff and the General Manager areare wonderful and very customer focused.

The location is perfect for anyone looking for quiet, walks to the beach, and lots of light. Nice for two singles or a family of four. Tight for four adults or more. A nice, downstairs guest suite provides extra privacy. Beautiful backyard, pretty to look at, less so for anything else. It worked well for two adults and a Doodle.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my second month long stay in this lovely house. And I have already rented it again for next year! What is not to love. The location is quiet and removed from the often times congested downtown area, yet close enough to stroll into town whenever you want. I call this house “my treehouse” because the views from the living room and kitchen make me feel like I’m resting in treetops looking out over the hills in the Carmel River area. Sanctuary staff were always attentive and very helpful. The house was clean and very comfy. Can’t recommend it enough.

The house is about a 12-15 minute walk to Ocean Avenue or 15 minute walk to the beach (Carmel River State Beach). There is also a wonderful elementary school within a 10 minute walk with two playgrounds for children.
Overall, we were thrilled with the house, the location, and overall experience. Would book again!

I loved my stay in this beautiful home! Smartly remodeled with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms - a rarity of space for this neighborhood! Short walk to the ocean and to shopping and restaurants. Excellent location! The kitchen is a gorgeous remodel. The windows bring in so much natural light and accentuate the serene Carmel Valley view of rolling green hills and trees. The deck is conveniently located right off the family room and allows you to enjoy the view all day - high above the neighbors - so no obstruction. The house comes with a large backyard and multiple outdoor sitting areas - a distinct advantage in this community. The street is quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend a vacation in this lovely home and neighborhood.

This is a wonderful home. You can tell that the owners put a lot of effort into making it a comfortable and welcoming place. It has beautiful views. The location is ideal - you can easily walk to the restaurants and shops. It is just minutes away from the beautiful walk along the coast. I highly recommend this place!
