Absolutely beautiful property in an amazing location! The hosts are wonderful. It seems like so much thought has gone into the guest experience. Saugatuck was a wonderful town to visit and we enjoyed our stay. We hope to be back!

My partner and I love this place-clean, cozy, quiet, comfortable and has everything you’d ever need. However, the best thing about this place are the owners. They make the stay so great with their welcome and interest in our wandering without being overbearing. We will always go back there because of them.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Janet’s cottage. She is very warm and friendly and she had cookies waiting for us in the cottage that were really yummy! The pictures don’t it it justice, the cottage is very charming and well decorated and the view outside the patio doors was lovely and made it secluded and private. The location is perfect, short walk to everything. Loved it.

Really clean cozy and inviting private cottage with just what the 2 of us and our small dog needed. Very nice shady property surrounded us; loved that we could walk or bike everywhere. Janet could not have been nicer or more helpful and was so welcoming! We plan to stay again in the future, as there is lots to see and do in the Saugatuck area!

This was our first time visiting Saugatuck. It was a perfect spot for my fiancé, dog and myself. We loved exploring the area and were able to walk to everything in Saugatuck. Janet was kind and helpful. It was an easy check in/ check out process and property was cozy and clean!

What a fabulous little cottage and location. Best of all was the hospitality of the host Janet. She greeted us when we checked in and provided fresh water and a treat for our dog. She was so helpful - felt like staying with family! Very clean and so well stocked. Would give her a 10 star review!!!

This property is A+++Janet met us upon arrival and could not have been more welcoming. The cottage is lovely, spotless, and cozy. The owners go over and beyond anticipating what you might need even providing snacks, coffee pods, and any toiletries that might have been forgotten. We highly recommend. If you don’t stay there, you are missing a precious little nugget of Saugatuck. ❤️

Location of property was great and cottage was perfect for two adults and small dog. Walking distance to all shops and restaurants as well as reserved parking. Janet and Fred provided us with plenty of info and things to do in Saugatuck. Janet even baked cookies to celebrate our anniversary. Will definitely stay again during our next visit to Saugatuck.

Cozy coach house meant for 2. Great for long weekend. It’s close to everything in downtown Saugatuck. It was great to bring our dogs too. Thanks to Janet for being a great host!

The property is well maintained and just as advertised. Janet greeted us with wonderful hospitality, a well stocked refrigerator and snacks, and plenty of coffee. If the weather has cooperated we would’ve used the deck and outside sitting area more. But since it was colder and raining occasionally we used the love seat and sitting area inside to talk and enjoy some downtime. Great time.

The Summer Place has it all - charm, comfort and location! This was our second visit to the Summer Place and it won’t be our last! Our hosts, Fred and Janet, we’re so gracious and treated us like family. They made sure we had everything we needed and we appreciated all the extra touches like snacks, drinks and even delicious muffins when we arrived! We had a wonderful week and look forward to coming to Saugatuck and The Summer Place next year and years to come!

I stayed here with my husband and seven-year-old daughter, and it worked out perfectly. The location is fantastic; we could walk to absolutely everything in downtown Saugatuck, and yet it was still very private and quiet. The hosts were friendly and accommodating and sweet with my daughter. She was impressed with all of the generous snacks they provided. Everything we could have possibly ever needed was in the room, they had thought of everything. The pull-out couch was a great for a seven-year-old, and the arrangement of the room provided a little privacy as we slept. Highly recommend!

Everything about our stay was perfect. We arrived to a clean, well-stocked studio and were greeted by the owner who was a wealth of information. The location in downtown Saugatuck could not be better: a block from the river and commercial area, but tucked away in a secluded space with plenty of privacy. We chose the spot because it was dog-friendly, but we would come back to The Summer Place even if we didn’t have our pup with us.

We were greeted upon arrival, and the host explained where everything was and if we needed anything to just ask. We arrived with fresh cookies in our room, a variety of snacks, drinks, beverages, and plethora of bathroom amenities, There was not one detail overlooked. We had everything we needed and even things we didn’t think to bring were provided in order to have a restful, relaxing get away. We will be coming back in the future. Thank you so much for your hospitality!! A perfect getaway!

It was like going home for a visit, the place was tidy and clean with refreshments / snacks inside. We were so pleased with everything. The service was over the top. Everyday asking if we needed anything. We will be coming back. It was such a relaxing place and walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Upon arrival, we were personally greeted by Ms. Janet showing us the property and all it offered. She and her husband were amazing hosts with the fresh baked blueberry muffins, pet supplies, snacks available, towels, shower supplies, beach chairs etc. You name it they had it available for the stay. The cottage was absolutely a perfect location within walking distance to every little thing. It was an adorable, super clean place to stay. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the owners. We will definitely be coming back!!

Great location for visiting Saugatuck! Walking distance to all shops and restaurants. Great little cottage with all that you could need including bandaids and a sewing kit! Friendly hosts….attentive when needed but respectful of your privacy at the same time. The only issue was that the cottage floor did not appear to have been cleaned prior to our stay. We had to move a large oversized chair and underneath it there was actual dust and dirt and a piece of broken glass. Perhaps the owners should consider changing cleaning services. I’m sure they expected to have been cleaned.

This cottage is perfect for couples. The lovely property owners and have made sure that the cottage has everything you need for your stay including beach towels, beach chairs, snacks and a good book. You can easily walk to all of the restaurants and shops in downtown Saugatuck. Would love to stay again.

The interior was very clean and well organized. In a great location, only a couple blocks from downtown Saugatuck. Property owner was very nice and very helpful. She directed us to a few restaurants that we could sit outside and take our dog. Would definitely visit again. 10 out of 10!

So last year my friends and I came to celebrate our 50th birthdays. We enjoyed the town so much and this location was perfect. We love the town. It is so welcoming and beautiful. Even though the weather this year wasn't as hot and sunny we still made it to Oval Beach. Janet and Fred we appreciate your hospitality and more than likely will see us again.

This was a summer getaway for my 15 y/o son and I along with our dog Toby. We stayed 3 nights and completely enjoyed ourselves. Close to town and shopping/restaurants, but far enough away to add to a relaxing atmosphere. Hosts were friendly and informative, willing to offer a recommendation if needed. Clean and lots of cute extras that gave the stay a personal feeling. Have already recommended to friends looking for a dog friendly getaway. Highly recommend.
