Nestled in San Juan Island, this charming house for $723 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Pet Friendly! Comfortable home on the North End! (NBH) Neil Bay Hideaway is situated on little over an acre with views from living, dining, and recreation rooms of Neil Bay and Spieden Island. This two-bedroom, two-bathroom home has plenty of room for children and the family dog to play and romp in the fenced backyard and is conveniently located a short walk to the historic seaport town of Roche Harbor for fine restaurants, shopping, walking the docks, or playing on the beach at the isthmus. Nice open floor plan so families can be together while cooking in the kitchen, playing foosball in the game room or watching sports on the 65" HD TV in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a separate dining room with a table and six chairs, plus two extra upholstered folding chairs for added seating. Don't worry about bringing salt and pepper. The owner tries to provide most spices you would need, along with olive oil, vinegar, etc. They even try to keep some coffee in stock. The owners offer a wood burning stove in the recreation room and a fireplace in the living room. Wood is available at no charge on the property. Free internet and DIRECTV® is available. The primary bedroom is a king with a full bath and TV, the guest room is a queen with full bath, and the game room now has a sofa bed that can accommodate your children or adults. Nearby activities include playing on the beach at the isthmus, swimming at the Roche Harbor pool for a nominal fee, taking a stroll through Roche Harbor’s sculpture park, kayaking, gin tasting, hiking nearby trails and parks, fishing, crabbing and exploring Roche Harbor and Friday Harbor. During the warm island months, enjoy an evening dinner outside in the beautifully landscaped yard with the propane Weber BBQ grill and comfortable outdoor dining area. The fenced backyard is the perfect spot for your family pup to play or simply relax in the outdoor doghouse. The house is perfect for two couples, their family and dogs to enjoy time to relax and unwind while enjoying the quiet of the Neil Bay neighborhood. Fire pits are not usable from May 1st-September 30th due to county burn ban and safety of property and neighboring areas. Ban is usually lifted October 1st if/when conditions and weather are favorable. Firewood is provided for off-season. One house-trained, less than 65-pound dog per reservation with a pet fee. If a request for an additional dog is made, an additional fee will be assessed. Only two dogs maximum are allowed. Dogs are not to be left unattended. If a dog is left unattended and a neighbor calls to complain about noise or other disruption by the dog, renter will be charged a $200 fee. Pets are not allowed on furniture. Renter assumes responsibility for all extra cleaning needed such as emergency carpet cleaning, furniture replacement, and or emergency laundromat use for bulky items like comforters and pillows. Dogs must be house trained, and on-leash while outside. Yard service takes place twice per month at this property. The internet / Wi-Fi at this house should be sufficient for streaming video, phone calls, remote work and video conferencing. Internet Speed Test Results… Download Speed: 18.13 Mbps, Upload Speed: 1.21 Mbps, Ping: 162 ms (Average of three tests that were conducted late August/early September 2020 using SpeedCheck Pro). Smooth check-in process. Excellent location, easy walking distance to Roche Harbor and Isthmus. Clean, comfortable and spacious house. Easily accommodated 4 adults and 2 teenagers. Well appointed and stocked kitchen, great for cooking and family gatherings. Nice view of bay from living room window. Well maintained and managed property. 5 Stars.

Lovely house, well equipped, very modern and clean. Unfortunately, when booked the plan was to have five adults and a small dog. One of the adults got covid and had to bail out. The couple with the dog had travel issues and couldn't make it, leaving just my wife and I. All of that was bad enough then on our second day there my wife had a misstep (be careful of the step leading into the game room just inside the main entrance), she badly sprained her ankle such that walking was painful and difficult. She also strained some interstitial ribs muscle catching herself from the subsequent fall. Icing, taping, ibuprofen helped, but our plans to further explore the island were dashed. Rather than hanging around we figured convalescing and care for the ankle and rib muscles could be better handled at home, we were able to switch our ferry sailing day and departed a day early. Rather than three nights we were only there two nights. So a house large enough to comfortably accommodate six people only has two of us and our three night stay was truncated to just two night. In the end no matter how nice the house was (and it was very nice indeed) the trip was pretty much a bust.

Very clean. Very well equiped kutchen. Nice table space for dinners with family. Nice view of the sound. Setting is lovely. There are alot of short levels and seniors need to watch their step. We loved the place, just a little disappointed that the fox didn't visit us...but the deer were there.

This was our first time to the San Juan Islands.
The house is in the country and we saw plenty of deer. It is away from all the tourist action.
This home is well prepared for dogs with a back entry from fenced in yard. Plenty of dog towels provided. The house had everything we needed. Gas grill was available for use, which we did. The house was clean and very welcoming. The owner suite had very high king size bed, we really appreciated the step stools on both sides.
The bunk area in rec room worked for us but I could see with some children it maybe difficult as it is open to entire house.
The bathrooms had no blinds which is fine as it faces wooded back yard however the lawn people came and some of us had to wait until they left to shower. They were longer than expected as they broke a patio glass door.
We called property management and they handled it promptly. Property management was very professional and helpful prior to our stay and during. Would definitely book through them again.

Perfect for our 5 lady long weekend getaway. The property is lovely and well maintained. The home is comfortable and very well stocked with everything needed to enjoy home away from home. All 5 of us felt the same way and would return for a stay in the future.

One problem was the editing of entry/exit code. It needs to be said to lock up, one hits the lock feature on the key pad twice.
The WIFI PW was incorrect as well. Luckily, we figured things out.
And ALL THOSE STAIRS! I was afraid someone would miss one and fall and break something.
Our small dog enjoyed the yard very much. The partial view was lovely and it's very quiet there!
Oh wait! why is the owners bed so dang high? Crazy because once again, I was worried about missing the step when I had to get up in the middle of the night.

Absolutely lovely home in a very tranquil wooded area. Probably the most comfortable rental home I’ve ever stayed in, and I’ve stayed in a lot! Totally spotless and stocked with more things than I’ve ever seen in a rental before. The beds were super comfortable. If you’re planning on using the bunk beds for kids, just be aware that they are not in a closed bedroom, so if you plan on putting the kids to sleep and then staying up to relax in the living room, it would be hard to do. But my 9 and 7 year olds slept together in the queen bed and it was fine. Also, make sure to bring your mosquito repellent and after bite spray! I’ve lived in Washington for 17 years and just wasn’t prepared at all for the amount of mosquitos we experienced! Unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy the gorgeous backyard or the hammock because our first day we were eaten up alive by mosquitos within about 2 minutes! As long as you come prepared, you’ll be able to enjoy the yard. Overall a very lovely home and it’s clear it’s well taken care of.

We are frequent visitors to San Juan Island however this is the first time we rented a home. Everything exceeded the description, from the moment we got there. The house was immaculate and well stocked. The setting, with gardens, local wildlife (fox and deer), and a peaceful quietness while only a short walk to Roche Harbor, made for a magical stay. We will be back!

Our fourth stay at Neil Bay Hideaway. We love the location and this house. It is always in good condition and well equipped. A very nice place to relax. The only drawback was the heat. Besides the ceiling fan in the living room, a small fan in each bedroom would have been nice!

So relaxing
I wish we would have had another day to stay at this property and Roche Harbor! What a special place. After we finished with our whale watching at Friday Harbor, we made our way to the house. We felt “at home” when we opened the front door. The house was very clean and comfortable. Windows had been opened before we got there so the clean, crisp, coolness was welcoming. There was soft music playing in the background (we actually thought for a moment someone was already there).
We unloaded the groceries, made claims to our rooms and sat outside with some cocktails and charcuterie board before making supper. Everything we needed was there. We had a lazy morning the next day which afforded beautiful views with a cup of coffee. We drove to Roche Harbor and were completely BLOWN AWAY by the yachts and yachts and yachts. This is how the “other side” lives??? A drive to Lime Kiln lookout was beautiful. No orcas but still relaxing.
I would recommend this house. It is not waterfront but has water views through the front window, front yard and patio along the side of the house. The informational book was very helpful and well organized!! With our adult son living in Redmond, we will definitely make additional trips to Friday Harbor!!

Mixed review
I thought the house was beautiful and was beautifully appointed. I thought the value was not really appropriate.. I felt like it was too expensive. I also thought there was access to water that was closer. It was at least a 10 to 15 minute walk for any access to the waterfront. I also felt like a 4 o’clock check-in and 10 o’clock check out is not within the norm. Typically I can get a 3 o’clock check in at 11 or 12 o’clock check out

Gorgeous Property
This property is absolutely gorgeous and we loved every minute of our stay! The views and front yard were incredible and the kitchen was so thoughtfully stocked with anything you could need for cooking. We enjoyed the deer and fox that visited the yard as well.

It is near Roche Harbor, away from the hustle and bustle of Friday Harbor but a drive there is brief if desired. We loved this lovely quiet community close to Roche Harbor. The home had a beautiful yard and lots of space to gather. We really enjoyed being close to Roche Harbour, and away from the business of Friday Harbour. A quick and easy drive to anywhere we wanted to visit. Deer and wildlife in the yard are fun to watch as well. The room with the bunk beds is open to a common living space, so there is little/no privacy and persons sleeping there are open to the living room kitchen area. I really appreciated the well appointed kitchen, local advice and care taken to the binder with information and pride in home ownership of this property.
